Wait, what? I meant stuff like this:

:P

It was all meant in jest, it's not like you don't know what porn is, otherwise you'd be none-the-wiser. It's not something I particularly want to read about at my age, either, but hey - it was only a joke.

Anyway, shouldn't you be in bed by now?

-> I'm sorry, its April 1st. I'm not buying this news. Can't trust anyone/thing on this day. :indiff:

Haha, yea it's true porn industry helped HD to success, but don't you miss the obvious? People always wanted sharper, clearer TV pictures... not some weird 3D gimmicks!
3D is for the 70's. :)

Although I support the idea of 3DTV, I won’t be keen to go out and buy one. I’ve seen 4 different 3D movies at the cinemas, but the last one I saw (Avatar) gave me a whopping great big headache for a day. Also, I believe long term viewing of 3DTV’s will give me prescription glasses quicker then staring at a computer screen all day. And, new technology will cost a bomb.

Plus I'm 12, so not what I want to be reading.
You will in a year’s time. :)

actually if the porn industry would have won there wouldn't be Blu-Ray it would be HD-DVD. Sony, the maker of Blu-Ray, didn't want the porn industry to use it's format for their videos. Porn has a say in things but obviously it didn't win this format war. 3D is another story though. We can't say they won't or will be able to use it but my guess is the latter. Anyway back to GT53D... i think we already knew it was going to be apart of GT, that's probably one of the reasons it's delayed, to wait for Sony's 3DTV's.

Like I said in a previous thread when I rang my local Sony centre I was told a 60" will cost over £3000 and the 40" version will cost around £2500. This is a huge amount of money considering you can buy a 40" full HD TV around £500 these days.

As I bought my V4000 only 18months ago I will wait at least another 3-4yrs. I feel when you spend £599 on a TV you must get at least 5-6yrs of use to make that expenditure worth it.

Personally im finding the rate of technology frightening these days. It seems only yesterday that I was playing Manic Miner on my Spectrum. What on earth will be available in 10-20yrs time!!

BWX
If I cross my eyes while keeping the pic in focus, I can see this as a perfect 3D image.. without glasses.

Cool innit? Check out the reflections on the cabin windows - quite freaky...
Still doesn't look right, for some reason (might be a scale / FOV issue)

Old fashion 3D technology/glasses are super cheap as well easy to make. I would say try it again on many 3D yourube videos, and other contents. You might change your mind, the BRAVIA 3D might get even better 3D effects. For me I can not wait for 3D. But I wont buy a 3D tv yet, maybe in 2-3 years once 3D tv's drop below 1000 buks.

You wait until your living room truly gets turned in to an interactive entertainment centre.

Why do people keep comparing 3d to HD? How are they even similar? Everyone wanted a clearer picture so HDTV caught on. Not everyone wants to see blue aliens floating around in their living room in nothing but loin cloths.

Gran Turismo 5, Killzone 2 Going 3D
Sony confirms several big-named titles getting 3D update this summer.

April 2, 2010 - Sony will have several big name PlayStation 3 titles ready this summer when the company plans to launch its major 3D initiative.

As seen on the latest episode of Qore, a subscription-based, monthly show on PlayStation Network, Gran Turismo 5, Killzone 2, LittleBigPlanet, and many other titles will all be getting a 3D update.

The episode gives fans a quick lesson on what they'll need to prepare for 3D. The list includes: A 3D-ready TV that supports the HDMI 1.4 standard, a pair of active-shutter 3D glasses, and of course the PlayStation 3 firmware update that enables 3D playback.

Here is the list of games getting 3D updates so far, according to the Qore video:

Gran Turismo 5
Killzone 2
LittleBigPlanet
WipEout Fury
Super Stardust HD
Invincible Tiger: The Legend of Han

Sony said to expect to hear more announcements about other titles going 3D soon. It's worth pointing out that Gran Turismo 5 may be set for release this summer if Sony is already highlighting the game as one of its big 3D titles for when the firmware update goes live.

Sony did confirm at GDC that Gran Turismo 5 will be released this calendar year but did not specify what quarter

Not that i care about the 3D crap but maybe we can get the long awaited gt5 this summer. I can only hope. lol

I know I don't, especially in a loin cloth.

Just in case the pic wasn't definitive enough, IGN just confirmed that GT5 and a few other games will be in 3D.

Just as I was going post that this means nothing, IGN updated their article accordingly. SONY have never officially announced anything regarding the launch of 3D titles - not even GT5. Just because a 3D demo of GT5 has been shown at a show does not mean that it will be getting at launch. It's likely, but like I said, not officially confirmed.

I've seen the video of the 3d and I must say it looks nice. One thing though if you have a HD tv it wont show it 3D. I found a 42 inch 3D for around 3,000 and the glasses are 150.00 a pair.
*note* glasses don't come with the tv.

You don't even need a 3D-TV for that, just watch Fear n Loathing in Las Vegas for instructions :dopey:

Seriously, HD is bloody awesome but I see no reason to buy 3D-Equipment.

I think you guys are missing something. 3d tv needs a 3d SOURCE. That means that the Tv does not turn the video 3d, the signal does. That means that cable or satellite is still 2d. You need to buy 3d movies to watch 3d. That means that PD is wasting time making gt5 3d because not many have 3d tv yet.

You mean like the range of 3DTVs Sony will be launching in June 10th?

You mean like the PS3 which meets the specifications for 3DBD?

The PS3 will be able to output a 3D source... Obviously if you don't have the content in 3D, you won't see it in 3D without some clever realtime "upmixing" algorithm, which is only likely to be disappointing at best (at least for the foreseeable future).
Unless you mean the Samsungs can't do 2D, which would make them an absurdly pointless product in my mind... :scared:

I read the book on a long train journey once. Changing trains via the underground in London was not very fun that day. It instilled such a strange sense of manic paranoia, via the rapid, virtually non-sequential narrative. All very strange, yet impressive.
