Is there a beta going on right now for GT5, because someone over at Gamespot said their friend is in it right now and he posted this pic. I've also heard of a couple other people saying their friends are in it.

Probably for some Online testing?
Or just the demo that it was at the show week ago.

What was GT5:Prologue then?? You'd think someone from the largest GT community would be a part of it? GTPlanet?

Interesting, would be awesome to be a part of that. Too bad I never get any Betas, lol. :P

Demos, are free previews of what the future holds. GT5 Prologue is too big to be a dem, and is not free.

I inspected the picture and it does not seem like a fake. I am not an expert tough, but I have some knowledge.

What can they be testing? I think they have tested the online races enough with GT5P.
The same goes for the driving.

I can think on anything else but new online contents, apart from the racing.

EDIT: Congratulations to the new member SonoUgly that brought this to us. Thank you very much for sharing.

EDIT: Maybe testing damage and collisions with 18 cars. I can not think on anything else.

A beta is not a demo. A beta is a test version of a game, usually released to a limited group in order to test online stability and work out last minute bugs.

I suggest everyone check their PSN account for any information on if they got in. I remember when I got into the Warhawk beta I didn't even receive an e-mail, it just showed up in my PSN account info.

Please don't confuse GT5P with a true beta.

If the beta is getting released now, then GT5 must really be in the final stages before release. I just wish I had a wireless router with me, my PS3 has gone internetless for a whole week now...:(

Well, if someone really wanted to 🤬 with us, if you take a clear screenshot of another download, cover the icon with a picture of the GT5 logo, and stick Gran Turismo 5 Beta under the 'title' section, you can display that picture on a PC monitor or even a TV screen and take a picture of that at a blurry angle, you can make a really realistic looking picture. Now, of course I've never done this sort of thing, but it couldn't be that hard, right? I could probably do it in MS Paint. Oh, and I'm not just trying to shoot down the OP. :P

Where do you go in your PS3 to see if you received a Beta?

If someone knows of someone that is lucky enough to test the game, drop some info. :)

Checking the properties of the photo it appears unedited, from a SONY camera model DSC-S650 almost two days ago.

^Amar to the rescue?

Quick! To the GTPlanet Mobile!

TANANANANANA!!!

Edit: If a beta were to come out, I'm sure Amar would've known about it and told us cryptically, or just flatly said it.

Less than an hour and this thread has the attention of 37 users. I think it's real, and I want some of the action. Even better, a GTMobile Beta:D

They were talking about this over at Playstation.com, for a month already! I think it's fake!!

The point is how do you stick the Gran Turismo 5 Beta matching everything (font , angle, color...). Thats very hard.

Someone could do what the guy quoted above said. Capture the image, edit it, and display it through a TV, and then take the picture with a camera.

Yeah of course and it wouldn't be the first time.

I just took a closer look, and it's fake. The GT5 logo is smaller than normal logos are in the bubble.
