Just discovered this thread about a week ago along with hybriding altogether for GT5. Had an awesome time in GT3 doing hybrids making all sort of practical and impractical, mild to wild cars. Looking forward to what everyone's creating
Well looks like it has been a while since you have posted here. If your looking to see some good hybrids we have "The Hybrid showcase thread" were people go to show off there hybrids and then there's the "Hybrid Trading Thread" were you can make trades on hybrids with other people.:) Make sure you read the first post on both before you post anything, first post will explain everything.;)

And above all, DONT ASK HOW THEY ARE MADE!

Although every GT5 Hybrid thread has that in the OP.

Absolutely.

I hope we've all come to a gentleman's agreement in what is discussed and what is kept private/pm. I guess it was a little more open in the GT3 days though. Not a problem though 👍

Thats a sleek looking Viper, thats for sure ZedMan! But that podium will not be lonely for long ;) I have a little project myself at the moment, bringing the Vipers own rival, the Covette ZR-1 into the mix, with similar figures and a proper downforce. A quick lap around the ring provided a 6:56 with only mild tuning. The JrD engineers are still putting the finishing touches on the engine before it's put in. Preliminary figures show an output of 1,227 BHP, and the aero tech's are still working around the clock to work out the details.

What tires were you using during that lap? Sports soft or racing hard perhaps?

Racing soft. I love competition! Let it begin!:mischievous:

EDIT: You might wan't to check out my racing series. Check the regulations. Post your burning laps on there. And here also.

Good Luck!

EDIT#2: Isn't the Viper GTS's Rival the Chevrolet Corvette Z06 (C5) '04?

EDIT#3: I have a feeling I'll lose. But do you use a wheel?

EDIT#4: Okay I'm clearly getting nervous.

EDIT#5: Mine wasn't really ever designed for the Nurb. It was designed to be a fun racecar to drive. And the 9 gears happened to fit perfectly for drag racing, speed and track racing all in one transmition that cannot be changed. I expect defeat.

EDIT#6: As in you defeating me.

EDIT#7: No TCS, SRF, Racing line or any other aid apart from ABS at 1. I want this to be fair.

Yea Terronium 12 has made his points pretty clear about hybriding in GT5. One of the reasons behind it is against the terms of service on PSN.;) Like I said read the first post on both threads and it will explain everything.;) On the other hand, welcome back to GTPlanet!:)

Wow, you really like edits, don't you? :dopey:

But to answer your questions:

Yes, the C5 would be the direct rival, but corvettes and vipers always have been thought as rivals, so I use the term a bit loosely. But power and weight figures will be somewhat alike, so I think it will be close.

No, I won't be using a wheel. I have one, but I don't have any place to mount it where I have my PS3 and TV, so its going to be a DS3.

I only use ABS 1, so no other assists will be used.

And I am still quite rusty in my GT5 driving, so I don't expect a face melting lap at first. The car still needs loads of adjustments after the engine and aero components are fitted. And my gearbox will be the stock ZR-1 one, since I won't bother going through hundreds to find the one that fits perfectly.

and to keep the topic going as well, here is some of the other cars I currently have in my stables:
RX-7 FD (p) Drifter. 800 HP, and extensively tuned to drift how I want it.

Mx-5/Miata TC "insane edition". Some of my boffins got a hold of a reserve engine from a 787b, and decided that it would be fun to throw in a convertible. Many hours and headaches later, the engine was in, and to add to insult, they fitted a huge turbo to it. Its not dialed in yet, so it understeers like a house, but gets impressive speed and the sound is just

a CR-X with S2k engine and drivetrain, as a research project within the R&D department. We will soon have a better car to put this in.

We have a lot of cars standing in line to get some work done, but the 'vette and MX-5 Insane edition are first in line.

Now I found it. I saw it previously, didn't know it was made by Zed. Looks awesome!

I guess its time that I should now accept that I seem to make specially addictive cars.
Honestly I cannot thank you guys enough.

Now that I seem to know the foundations of addictive cars. I'll soon be releasing these machines to you guys and for you to shoot your verdict at them. And please describe in detail and please point out the bad bits. Because if you don't, I won't make as good cars in the future.

I only make cars that are fun to drive. No more, no less.

Hey, do you have some of the cars out on share? Perhaps add me ( PSN is in signature), and we can comment on each others tunes. I may have the first draft of the Vette out soon, and any feedback is nice!

Sure man! But I'm going to bed soon So we'll need to do it tomorrow.

Dont even change the exhaust to the racing option. Keep it on Sports.
Just a little tip. Because its for the sound. :D

Ye, I'm at work now anyway, so don't sweat it!

And I had a sneaking suspicion of that already, so I've only fitted the sports exhaust ;) it'll be a beast if I can coax it into keeping just a little oversteer in turns, but stay stable

I hope you drive in manual.

Of course I do ;) usually with a clutch as well, but since I use the DS3 at the moment, I only use manual without clutch. I feel like some of the control is lost when using an automatic:indiff:

I completely agree. And near all control is lost when using a DS3. Its too easy but too slow.

Big Day for me today

I found the millage reset, this one was a pita to get a hold of but I cracked the nut, got my used car back to 0.0miles on the ODO...

Found Turbos each Turbo kit actually has a different size turbo, I thought it was always just a boost level lol. I found boost level also including boost gauge. This can all be applied to any car.

Ive fixed the RPM gauge to read right for the engine and display a turbo gauge for any car I turbo including cars originally NA or SC only, Or on the flip side I can remove the turbo gauge when going from turbo to NA or SC.

Finally got sound out of some engines that used to go silent when stuffed in cars that are factory turbo. My LS9 RX-7 only made engine noises the back end was quiet like electric cars. Well I fixed that and can swap around exhaust systems too (believe it or not they make different power some more than others) They also make different tones. Turbo back best with Turbo, SC with SC, NA with NA...

All in all its been a great day. I can't tell you how to do any of this but I can tell you its all possible.. Cheers, good luck searching. 👍

The C6.R+ is alive!
ahrweilertownsquare2m.jpg

Current specs:
1300 BHP
911 KG

The tune are still being devised, but we have hit a little snag:
ahrweilertownsquare1.jpg

The C5.R chassis is a bit too narrow for the car! This is a major drawback, so we have to rethink it. But even with this, the car did just above 6 minutes on the ring (6:07, starting with cold tires). Should easily iron out at least another 20 seconds when the tune comes together, and I stop doing silly mistakes all over the place.

The car still have some HP to spare, for qualifying purposes, so it can go all the way up to 1500 HP if needed (but discouraged due to massive engine wear).

JrD Engineering now closes for the day, and will be open tomorrow, with a new fun project to do!

I see you have made some more discoveries :D With proper coding, an NA car only can be turbocharged, without resorting to engine swap, with working gauge + sound and each exhaust will have distinct changes too.

Try to turbocharge BRZ/FRS/GT86, Ford GT, Aventador and C6 ZR1 '09, they have sound issues even with proper coding ( turbo + sound + gauge ). Let me know if you can fix them - use their original engine.

Also you can do twincharger on cars that can have turbo, even on NA cars only ;) - you will still have both supercharger + turbo sound - the benefits of course a lot less/virtually no lag even with high rpm turbo kit. I have built one for ZDUPH a twincharger Prius with S13 engine.

Thanks. With the help of a ill search trick ( I would toss out props, but the nature of the subject leaves me a little reserved as to not put them on the spot) I no longer have to look through the car to see what's different when a change is made, this is huge, make a 30min job get done in 2min.

I will look into those cars for a fix, getting that LS9 sound out of my RX7 was a treat :)

I also decoded all available wheels including SSR, wingless mod, working on removing the hood today on a few rides to see what the got under it.

The ODO reset is big for me too. I have many choice STD cars that are great, but high mileage keeps them from the full potential. Now my Scoobie 22b don't have 15k miles on it robbing power, I actually have to put a few miles on it to break it in lol..

I thought you meant the older 2004 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 (C5) :(

Did you even read the restrictions on the thread I sent you?

Well here they are: https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=279716

The restrictions are 1985-2000 (Apart from Viper GTS and C5 ZO6 '04)

I have only ever done one lap on the Nurb with this viper.

I have done a billion laps with the viper at Rome. So I guess you could thrash your Vette over there.

The power restrictions are from 1000-1200bhp. Mine has 1160bhp weighing at 930kg being one of the most heavy cars in its class and with the least power. But it mostly comes to the corners that you can not only melt laps but melt peoples faces off.

Obviously it seems that people are addicted to my Viper. And my theory is;
The paint scheme is the original Red-With-White-Stripes. This probably makes it soo appealing because it is how most people will think of a Viper. This means it already has an original paint scheme on it. So I guess people like it because of its original quintessential scheme and sound. And the other reason is that the spoiler holds those essentials. And then the rims are the same from the Le Mans race car version but deeper and in chrome. Which gives them again originality but at the same time something new about the car. And I guess the chrome comes with every GTS Viper. They all have chrome rims stock.

I'll try and make cars more like this in the near future. But what should I tune next? Please give me some recommendations. It can be any premium car on or before the year 2000.

So my conclusion is that people love it is because its just soo original.

Tough I could be completely wrong. Please can somebody describe my car in detail and point out why its near addictive? At least that's why I love it soo much.

:ill: Uhh What? I'm not sure what your talking about at all, I really like the color on your Viper but aside from that, looks like a Viper. Is it constantly getting shared or people borough it a lot? Is there a popularity "Like" button or rating when you share a car? I'm just trying to follow you Bro the Viper looks like a really nicely painted Viper I guess.

My addictions don't lead me to Vipers, they bring me to Fat Chicks and Peanut butter.

(i dunno, haven't done any of that sharing online, never the time to figure it out)

Same here. But after modding it its become addictive and loads of people want to get their hands on it. So its going to be my first shared car.

I didn't really have an intrest in vipers untill I realised that the Viper GTS was also made by some Japanese company's wand that it was mainly that that lead the car to its great success.

I can see why you're confused. I was surprised to see alot of people love it. As I said it could be down to how original it looks.

Go back few pages and you'll see the stats of the car.

Now I'd like you guys to test it and review it. I'm very curious as to why its soo popular among you guys. And wondering if my theory is right.
If you give me feedback it could lead to better cars.

You take Nice Pics. Very Nice seriously. If anything I'm addicted to the uber sweet shots you take, you seem to have great eye for taking photos.

I still don't have a clue what your talking about though  I don't see where your getting "addictive", "addicted", or confused why it is so. I guess if somebody told you something like "Yo that cars addictive" I would see but if that were the case you would know, the fact your saying you don't even know why its addictive confuses me even more.. I love that color, but a nice paint job on a car is not addictive.

What are you talking about when you say all these people are addicted to your car? How so exactly?

Has anybody Driven it and they are addicted to driving it? If that's the case, then okay it must be a sweet hybrid combo, but please be clear, your not making much sense.

HAHAHA! I understand. I'm really tired. I think I just worded it wrong more than anything.

I meant that I'm addicted to this particular Viper GTS-R.

People have driven it and they said that they wish they could drive it more because they found it addicting to drive yes.

Sometimes I ramble on alot when I'm tired and nobody knows what I'm talking about because when I'm tired I don't realise if what I'm saying makes sense.

Sorry for confusing you all. I'll grab some Dr. Pepper to sort this out

No sweat bro, I got it. That thing does look epic in your pics and sound like you put something really nice together keep it up.

I did say in the first post that it was a C6 ;) but I can't do any more hybriding until I have gotten a transfer device for my save again. I have bought a C5 for the occation as well, that will ultimately be the same car, under a different body. I also have bought a Impreza that might be fun to chuck around, but that will be an off roader, pikes peak style :P

But you must have done some extraordinary driving to achieve a 5:3x on the ring. I am still half a minute behind, with more power and less weight.. It will be a long stretch to make that last 30 sec with the C6 in its current form.. and it is very planted, could mabye need just a bit more grip in front to chuck it faster around the corners..

EDIT: I can see that I didn't say outright that it was a C6, but I did say ZR-1, which only comes as a C6 in the premium dealership ;) Sorry for the confusion!
