Although this being major off-topic, I must wonder, when is it ok to make fun of the holocaust? 2010? Looks like not. 2050? Still hurting? 2100? Mildly offensive? 3000? No one cares anymore? Just a curious thought, I don't think it is the best source of humor or jokes, but dark comedy will always be there, for some reason.

2 Generations is my guess, since there is still a generation alive who lived through it and their children would still take great offence to dark humor about holocaust. 100 years maybe still?

As far as I'm concerned it will never be OK to make fun of something which involved the slaughter of millions of innocent men, women and children, discuss it, yes, make fun of it? I don't believe anyone even brought that idea up !

The fact that the Kübelwagen was used by the nazis gives me the creeps. I will stay away from it as much as I can.

Actually, I think it's pretty cool. I have an interest in WWII history, so this was a pretty surprising addition. (Although I imagine it's quite slow).

Edit: Just now noticed the above posts. Oops...

 I believe PD may have started this a bit. Maybe it's a good job there's no livery editor hey. Don't stretch it though guys because either A: The thread will get locked and/or people will be banned or B: PD will remove the cars from the game.

:) Fun over.. back to topic.

I apologize for my cold, emotionless and exceptional way of thinking. I just can't be bothered or disturbed by something that has already been processed and contemned millions of times by all sensible and clearly thinking human beings over a long period of time. Everyone can understand that the holocaust was a horrible thing. But why is it a taboo?

I'll stop now, I promise. I'll delete my previous messages altogether.

Edit. A moderator can delete this also, I just hope I can clear up my sayings. I'm not a Nazi, although a visitor message I got from Heath_1 tells something else: https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/member.php?u=106493 I guess my message gave a horrible picture of myself.

I didn't do it.. I just found it on Google. Didnt think you were German either. The only german I know is count to one,two and three. WWII interests me a fair bit (not in a sick way) but more like.. a James May way or something I'm sure some people get what I mean. But I don't want people getting the idea that I'm some kind of whacked out phsyco Nazi lover or something. Sure I'll take that Shimmywagon thing for a burn around Nordshleife but, I'm not a sick person in any way.

Ferdinand Porsche developed the VW Käfer (Beetle), after Adolf Hitler said he wants a car for "his" people. The whole VW brand just exists because of this. lol

Hence the name Volkswagen, the peoples car.👍

Good thing there is no livery editor...:sly:

It's not taboo, but history has a wonderfull way of repeating itself, we would all do well not to forget the past just because it is the past and happened to someone else.

I never thought you were a Nazi, and I'm certainly not one of the PC brigade, but you have to draw the line somewhere, not for fear of upsetting anyone, but out of respect for those that were slaughtered.

Maybe since I have children of my own I think of these things differently.

The sky in this picture looks 100% real. That's flawless really. The clouds look so natural and everything

Already it looks as if GT5 is like Microsoft Flight Simlator in a way. I mean that as in lots of realisticly recreated cars, tracks, weather etc.

that last pic with the sparks.. Anyone else notice there are no headlight reflections in the car that the camera is in or the one with the sparks....

actually come to think of it the whole cockpit seems extremely dark. No shift lights or anything when you compare it to other night incar views of racecars.

Because it's race car- I believe it's a Tom's Supra (Super GT's GT500 class).

Well at least now you guys know why some people refer to Beetles and 911s as "butt engined Nazi sleds". ;)

It's. Just. A. Car. But a really brilliantly engineered one, and should be fun on rally stages. :)

My only problem with that, and its very small, is that in real life the stands are'nt generally packed to capacity at night,
Hell at 1am to 5am theres more people in sleeping bags on the grass around the track then there are in the stands:)

True, but then they would have to programm dynamic crowds. ;)
And it looks cooler this way too.

But didn't Kaz say they did that for the Nurb, that crowds and campers would change depending on time, you couldn't smell sausages etc:),
I would wonder if its done for that track has it been done for La Sarthe too, I hope so becasue I prefer La Sarthe.

Haven't heard about that, I only know that the "tourist" Nordschleife has no spectators, while the 24h version has tons of them, but that's not dynamic.

•The crowds will be dynamic, so there will be more tents, cars, and motorhomes at longer races.

Thats what was on the news page as confirmed details way back when the new nurburgring was shown,
Time will tell I guess.

At longer races, but not in the same race, that's what I mean.
Of course they could make less people for Le Mans when you start a single race at night, but this way it is better imo.

Oh it is better, I should have stated, rather than an empty stand,
I suppose it could change for an actual endurance race and not a demo, sounds like a cool feature if it does happen.
