Kazunori Yamauchi posted in Twitter the reason for the delay for GT5:

"Apologies for the delay, It's because time and labor were spent ironing the kinks out of [the game's] complex system. I'm really sorry. Everyone, it's inexcusable... Wait a little longer."

In another tweet, Yamauchi stated that he thought the game will release this year as an answer for the people that believes the game will be released in 2011, "I believe we won't keep you waiting until then" replied Yamauchi
Gran Turismo 5 is currently slated for this "holiday season".

With words like Believe, Expect, Should, where not quite getting any certainty here.

Cote d'Azur GT PSP v GT5:

Does anyone besides me notice some new buildings in the background? This seems to tell me that this place might have been remodelled. I even notice a extended grand stand.

Even more curious... what happens in regards to that with our B-Spec buddies?

Now that I think about it, is it even possible for us to name our B-Spec drivers? If so, I'm thinking at a race like the Rolex 24 at Daytona, they could have all there names on the roof of the car with their respective flags.

Isn't all that pretty old? We have a Kaz twitter thread and all that has already been mentioned there.

i really hopes it's worth waiting for!

Just reminds me of how much projects this guy works on, and why what he's doing takes time(especially when trying to be the best to do it).

It's funny how people seem to think this guy is just sitting on his a** or blaming him or accusing him of anything wrong with this project. Do you really think he's not trying his best to make his creation a reality FOR YOU?

What are you doing that's so important?

People are extremely selfish.

Its only selfish if we weren't going to be paying anything. Your forgetting, we're the consumers and he isn't doing this just out of good will. He has made millions of dollars, and so we expect a certain level of professionalism.

Sony and PD?forget it 👎.you guy's continue to give to many credit to their announcements!

Who would you trust then? Some game site that has no idea what they are talking about? Some blog that posts idiotic articles only for page views? Some store retailer posting random dates? Honestly, what other options are there?

The Russian sites are quite accurate.

Trust no one.

While that at the moment seems like a good option, I must ask: How do you keep in loop now that you've pretty much don't believe anything from anyone?

Sorry if I missed this, but was there anything official from GameStop about Turismo Tuesdays content and when it will be released?

The GS TT content is apparently on hold. They have 5 weeks worth of content, but so far they have only unlocked up to week 2 and did NOT unlock anything this week for week 3. So in short, they are just as confused as us.

It was based off of a twitter comment with a Sony official. "We expect to confirm a new release date before the end of the month.".

Note the word expect

https://www.gtplanet.net/gt5-release-date-announcement-coming-before-end-of-october/

I expected another lie, so it isn't such a great disappointment, as the lie was on the fact before the expectation itself.
I think it's better like this, they do not compromise with schedules they won't be able to fulfill.
But the fact they're taking so long (longer than expected) to announce a new release date means something is quite wrong!

Hmm in an interview in (early) 2009, Kaz also laughed about an 2010 release for GT5... He said we have not to wait that long lol...

I trust just my eye's !when I see my hand's put GT5-BR into my ps3 then I will believe PD and Sony:)

Regardless, your not doing the work.

I think his work speaks for itself, as no racing game matches what GT5 is. So when people are ready to start complaining, with no idea of the "process"( not some pre concieved notion or word of mouth of what that is, but actually being apart of something that big), then no one has no right to put the man down.

How can people be so negative towards him, when he's trying to do something for you?

and sure he's making money, but what other company goes this in-depth for their "consumer". Such a term negates the "passion" this man seems to have for what he's creating.

It's just frustrating to see some of the comments, and of course due to the delay, but people make it seem like the guy isn't trying/working/anything to get this game out, and are ready to bash the dude, who let me remind you created some of the best experiences (GT1-till now). But people still talk sht.

Really? I must have missed that one. I saw one mid 2008 where he said that it would not be out this year [2008] and there were no plans to release it in 2009 he said maybe 2010. It is now 2010 and we have had our first offical release date given then delayed by what is expected to be 3-6 weeks.

Sometimes these things happen, just a fact of life.

People have every right to be angry with him, PD and especially Sony. This game has been pushed back with one delay after another, Kas and Sony keep making promises and comments that never come true and only leave fans with less trust in them than before. If your OK with waiting for ever for a product, than that is ok, but I'm not, and so aren't millions of others.
Also, comparing him to other developers isn't good unless you also compare his career earnings. He makes boat loads off of royalties and salaries, so its all relative.

I love the infamous "we can release this game anytime we want" back 09. Great for laughs.

"Naturally, my attention is focused purely on Gran Turismo 5 right now," he told Famitsu magazine in an interview published this week. "The scale of this title is just dizzying, so daily progress is slow, but it's still going forward at a steady clip. All the basic stuff is complete, but we're trying to give everything that little bit extra at present. We could release it any time we want, really, but I want to have that classic GT-style 'did we really have to go this far?' feel going. I want to go way beyond gamer expectations."

It makes a lot more sense when put into context.
