IMO they are going to release it different dates, noel for US territory and first week of november or last days of october for PAL territory, because they couldn't solve the production issues

BTW US official site release date is Noel 2010
Pal official sites release date is november

I'm starting to wonder if the release date will come at the british motor show at earls court, after all it is on november the 5th which is when the game was due and the motor show has massive top gear endorsement and so does GT5.

The game's executive producer, Taku Imasaki, said that the decision to delay the game was actually taken yesterday (13 oct), and, as you can imagine, he and his team aren't happy about the tough call.

"We're really close, but this was an executive decision that was made yesterday. Realistically, we thought we had a good date. We're not happy over here."

ye dont cry tho Mr taku!we believe you!

According to him, Sony is now "shooting for it to be out by the holidays. You won't see too much more delay."

not much more delay!?tell us about it!

Well Kaz and the gang are going to be at SEMA during November 2nd, and it's looking REALLY good like we aren't going to get a date (hopefully over the weekend) but otherwise if not (not surprised they don't stick to their word again) SEMA will be an awesome place to announce the new date at the GT Awards

All smoke and mirrors my friends. The delay was just given so that Sony wouldn't get the game pirated. There's no other logical explanation. The game got a rating already, they were going to send it out to magazines to get reviewed. Come on now, the game is finished, Sony just said, hold on for whatever reason. My guess is the firmware update and the lack of being able to put out GT5 in enough copies in time for it's release. That's just my educated guess.

If GT5 missed production by 3 days, surely setting back the release date a month from November 2 to say, December 9, wouldn't be that much of a problem?

People I`m from Portugal and according to our site eurogamer GT 5 will be releasede in Portugal in 3 december and in the rest of Europe in 8 december, this news were provided by a SCEE internal.

I read it but I really don't agree with his point. It's not unheard of to run into some sort of production issue that causes you to miss the date you initially set for a game. I have no doubt that November 2nd was when Sony planned to release the game. You could see the marketing already being put into place. You have Schick campaign, Turismo Tuesday, various GameStop ads on IGN for GT5 ect. Also if you watch the preview of The Tester Season 2 you'll see GT5 all over the place. They have cockpits set up right next to the kitchen area and a giant cardboard cut out next to that so it's obviously going to be featured prominently in the season (something you'd do if you were planning on launching a product around that time). That stuff wouldn't have started rolling if November 2nd wasn't a real date. On top of that the game has been rated by every major ratings board, something that can't happen unless those boards are sent a content complete version of the game.

A real campaign would have started on TV 6 weeks before launch end September beginning of October.
I don't think they even started filming commercials then. I think there filming them now actually.

And to save gt5 from the black ops slaughter.
The truth is no matter what they do hacker's and pirates will always get around whatever they do

In the US ad campaigns don't start until a week (possibly two) before a game is released. Activision still isn't running any Black Ops ads even though it'll release in a little over a week. There are GameStop BO ads though, but those aren't part of Activision's actual ad campaign, those are just for GameStop to advertise their exclusive content.

But in Japan they did start a TV campaign in the middle of September. That's when the We Love Cars campaign started. They filmed the full commercial in the middle of October though.

Everyone assumes the game is finished and that it's piracy that caused the delay.. But how on earth would Kaz allow the game out with bugs such as this happening...
