In previous GT's, and in particular GT4, racing brakes didn't improve anything, since there was no brake fade simulation, so it was a useless modification.
I wonder if brake upgrades have been completely omitted in GT5 because correct brake dynamics haven't been implemented yet in the physics engine.
As I wrote in another post, brakes are essentially the first thing one should upgrade in real life for serious race track/track day use, as standard brakes will usually fade out very fast and not last more than a few laps on a short sized track.

True. Apparently we get brake failure as mechanical damage, the details of which we're still uncertain.:indiff:

I would be nice if Kaz and PD created a "Making of GT5:From Concept to Release" video, so we can understand what exactly's been happening these past few years.

This is the general discussion thread where we talk about the game and on occasion ask questions and sometimes they get answered.If questions were not appropriate i'm sure the mods would have said something.So im sure questions are just fine here.

Just looks like the surface isnt deforming properly, faces are intersecting. Anyone thats ever worked in any 3D application before such as 3DS Max has seen this a LOT. That's not something you would call a glitch.

The damage system isnt completely realistic in this game, people have to accept that and move on. The game isnt perfect, it's not the end of the world.
 
Who said it would be completely realistic? Not a single game on the planet is capable of being completely realistic with damage, we are years awwy from that. Prefection? Of course not? Best racing game to date? Most likely.

Well put, totally agree after all I don't want to die in racing games as that would suck.

Im pretty sure a lot of people expected the damage system to be better than it appears to be though. Amar said there doesnt seem to be much mechanical damage, which is unacceptable for a game that actually claims to be a sim. Ive yet to see any devastating physical damage no matter how hard you hit something.

Im not talking about perfection, Im talking about it being somewhat believable.

One guy has shown decent damage shots, and he's on Level 10. So I don't have a clue what he's doing differently to the other guys (Amar, RDK and Tekken)
 
Just west at my local GS where I preordered SE.
The guy show me my signature edition that they received today.
He told he cannot give it to me until 24. Just if any major competitor starts to sell before 24 they will too.
Right now, he told me standard edition is not arrived yet. Forgot to ask about CE.

Presumably minor shops starts to sell as they got it, maybe on Monday or Tuesday.
