What do you guys think to just stop posting anything until we have concrete news?

Not open new "super-smart" threads that are anything less than smart/constructive.

Maybe, if we just don't care about this game, then more info or "preoccupation" from Sony will emerge.

Just dreaming... now I'll wake up xD

GT5 will be so amazing, I can't stop caring about it so suddenly, I'm pretty confident that we will see this masterpiece in less than 9 months, and if we're really lucky its only the half or less.

Hmmm.. I wonder if someone can give us a total count of all Sony executives worldwide that have said "Gran Turismo 5 will be out by 20XX" over the last 5 years.

I can think of a couple from SCEE, the guy from Portugal, etc.

Let's start there then... Do you have an address? :mischievous:

(picks up very big wrench)

Ha! I'm terrible with names... Can't remember him. The ironic thing there is he was actually pretty recent, and if I remember correctly, said GT5 would be out by 2010 as well.

EDIT: Aha! Found it:

https://www.gtplanet.net/sony-exec-gran-turismo-5-launching-this-fall/

He is James Armstrong, CEO of Sony Entertainment Portugal. To quote the article: "We believe that launching the product this fall, before Christmas, but not yet decided."

How about that! A Sony exec that might even be accurate! Perhaps he is secretly Croatian and known to his closest friends as "Amar"...

So he may actually by right, and if he was wrong before about GT5 is because someone above him changed the plans...

(puts away big wrench...)

Can I still have that Beretta? :P

Amar works for a Croatian game magazine(Gameplay), that's why he's privy to the latest info and rumors.;)

How do you know that? Maybe you're actually Amar, disguised as a Croatian speedfreak guy. ;)

I used to think that he could read people's minds, so no even the slippery and elusive KY was able to evade his questions. Working for a gaming magazine should be awesome. 👍

hehehe not really:sly:, never saw him in person either, but I used to buy the mag every month, and as far as I know, he's a one of the regular writers/journalists for the mag, I think he wrote reviews for most GT games, and every time there's a 2-3-4 page update in the mag, I bet he's behind it.;) I miss him here on the forum with his usual inside info...

Hum...just thought of something. Sony said GT5 in 2010, they didn't specify if that was calendar of fiscal. This means they could release as late as March 31, 2011. Or did I miss something?

If I didn't misread, I predict 2-3 months before release they will announce that due to technical reasons, GT5 will be postponed indefinitely, update coming soon. A few weeks later Kaz will comment GT5 is 99% done. GT5 actual release sometime during the 2nd half of 2011.

Sorry for the sarcasm/cynicism, but can we really believe anything they say at this point?

When GT5 didn't come out last Christmas a lot of people took it our on amar because they thought his thread about the winds was misleading. Some of it was pretty harsh to be honest.

I don't blame him for leaving.

But like you say the whole situation probably embarassed him as it did with a few others. Even Jordan posted about a possible Christmas release.

I really don't get it all to be honest, the fact it was announced for release this month must mean it must have been virtually finished.

I just don't know if its Sony holding back or KY's OCD and endless tinkering.

Because some idiots here thought its a good idea to call amar a dumb liar.
I actually received "death threats" from people who felt I had misled them when the March 2010 date was announced. I don't know if Amar received that level of abuse as well, but I can understand why he felt the hatred directed towards him after that announcement was unjustified. He had nothing to do with with the Christmas release date rumors.

heh, that Japanese PD guy must be thinking WTF

Hehe, I think the interpreter looks far more uncomfortable. I would too with those jubblies so close by... :dopey:

That online thing was odd - a place to communicate? It'll just turn into a ****-slinging match; has anybody played Halo 3 online? Man, those kids are annoying! (but funny, too...)

That's pathetic of them. Such a shame a few can spoil it for the majority but he had every right to leave it that was the case.

Wow, some people are just retarded.
I mean, you didnt answer my last PM (;)), but i wouldnt be angry about this and things like death threats are just too much, way too much.

Jeez, that's really uncool and disrespectful, considering how much info Amar supplied...
I missed whole that shebang with obviously retarded people...sad.
And death threats?? Really??? Some people...ugh...

It's a shame that because of those idiots, we all lost. They did this and Amar stoped posting, so... we end up all losing because of a few "knuckleheads".

Ha ha, that guy looked pretty uncomfortable.

That girl was sweet though!! :)

Where was that taken from?

2009 Tokyo Game Show. Her name is Chava Laub and is a true gamer that just happens to look like a model.

Although what makes her truly "hot" is that her favorite TV show is Top Gear. 👍

She is also, like a lot of women, a regular participant in PS Home.

Unfortunately, it's not a rarity either. This and other forums have lost and or seen the decline of participation from a lot of dedicated and informed contributors due to unreasonable troll like behavior from others. It get's very tiresome and time consuming trying to filter out their noise, let alone trying to make sure reasonable constructive and factually accurate information is being shared.

On a positive note, compared to a lot of forums, especially gaming forums, IMO GTP is by far one of the best, despite the poor behavior of a few. Hopefully as things improve, Amar will be back sharing his thoughts and wisdom with GTP members.

Death threats? Over a ridiculous video game?

That's just sad. :indiff:

I'm sorry you had to go through that in any form whatsoever, you, and Amar to be perfectly honest
