Yes I (aswell as my friends) want Tourist Trophy 2.

You can add me to that list but I really think they should be kept separate from GT car games for many reasons...in fact I think my first ever post covers it quite well :D

I've ridden bikes and driven cars for many years but they offer vastly different experiences due to the inherent differences in how you control them. You turn the wheel of a car and it goes in that direction but the same doesn’t apply to a bikes handlebars. You use counter steer to turn a bike so actually push the left bar to go left which is hard to get your head round but it is true, in addition to this you use your body weight although it has less of an effect than you would imagine. You really can’t replicate the feeling of being on a bike in a computer game which is why the majority of bike games are rubbish, it’s much more realistic to experience driving a car using a force feedback steering wheel.

I love riding bikes but wouldn’t want them in a full Gran Turismo game as I feel they couldn’t be executed with the same quality as cars. No doubt years down the line PD will release a bikes rehash of GT5.

im sorry but i feel you all are wrong about bikes. GT is not a "Car" game it is a racing game. rally cars do not belong with nascar, and F1 doesnt belong with 1970's muscle. bikes have every right to be there as anything else. do i think they are going to be in the game NO i dont, but saying they down right shouldn't be is wrong.

It's a driving game (sim), says so in the title "The real driving simulator". Doesn't say racing.

Well, looks like this guy was right about weather all along.

And Amazon's manufactures description as well.

Apparently the manufacturers description is not written by the manufacturer, something I was unaware off and should really be deemed illegal in my book.

Oh well.

Anything with less than 3 wheels belongs in Tourist Trophy, anything with at least 3 wheels belongs in GT, that's the way I see it ( although there may be a few exceptions ).
Comparing different types of cars and saying those differences are on the same scale as the differences between cars and bikes is missing the point by quite a margin, not saying these games couldn't be combined or desired to be combined but I'm quite happy with them being separate games.
Oh and GT is not a racing game exclusively but a driving game first and the title GranTurismo does suggest to me it's purely for cars.

Who said it wasn't written by (or quoted from) the manufacturer? I said you shouldn't take it as confirmed, it wasn't published by official means.

There must be a reason why PD release an official steering wheel (Logitech Driving Force GT). Bikes, bicycle or motorcycle don't usually come with steering wheel.

Still, even if it's a racing game there's a clear distinction between car and motorcycle racing. Even the organisation running these sports are different: FIA for cars and FIM for bikes.

Not going to argue with you Jay but an official retailer, selling an official product with a manufacturers description should be official.

A disclaimer a the bottom should say details not yet confirmed.

Good memory though mate, I forgot it was you that corrected me. I think you said Amazon wrote the description but I'm not sure.

Anyway peace mate on this happy day.

How is a retailer official? Different if Sony sold it directly or Amazon quoted Sony's press/retailer release directly.

No worries, tommorrow (late here in Australia) should get better when we get some high res stuff. :)

Here we go then, light the touch paper.

I'd hardly call Amazon your dodgy dealer that sells cheap smokes off the back of a lorry.
People may have bad experiences with them, I don't know.

Seem to remember you telling me Engine upgrades and swaps were confirmed to be in too as I remember.

I know how the internet works so you may have the last say and I'll graciously bow down before you.

My first post on the subject was to say how Amazon was right just like that other guy who said it.

Edit. Just noticed your smillies, have some back.

Amazon should not advertise manufactures descriptions unless stated by the manufacturer.

Edit. just noticed your smillies, have some back with interest.:):):):):):):)

Whether they're dodgy or not is not the point. My point is you can believe it if you wish but it's still a 3rd party source with no direct sources to 1st party.

Nope, I never said that?

Yes they were right and expected them to be as everything pointed in that direction and Amazon are decent. Didn't make it offical though.

For example I fully trust Amar's word, when he has info I believe 100% the info he posts is as correct as he's been given, but it's not official or confirmed.

The reason I added the last part of my last post is because after re-reading my posts I noticed I come across more direct and aggressive than I mean to, no hard feelings. :)

Would love to see bikes included in some form in GT5. I am not sure if Tourist Trophy 2 will ever be made, as only 110,000 copies of the original TT were sold according to VGcharts. It would probably make more sense to include bikes and competitions for them as DLC for GT5, would enable better exposure and likely better sales.

I would like to see TT2 as an optional plug-in to GT5. GT5 is a 10gb install, TT2 equally will be large considering that many (if not all) the tracks would be shared. Just does not really make sense making a whole new game keeping it seperate.

I agree Gran Turismo has been all about cars, but the GT series has evolved and bikes could be a part of that evolution, with GT5 being a celerbration of road/track motorsport.

Nurburgring free run would be great, and realistic, as bikes and cars often share track space in real life.

I would not like to see in-game competitions with bikes vs cars but rather be able to create my own, on or offline as well as racing againts ghosts so I could say compare a Ferrari 458 with a Ducati 1198.

KY did mention that there have been things added to GT5 that people did not ask for (in great numbers) or did not want...bikes anyone?

If I am not wrong, the animated hands in the cockpit view use the shift paddles.
If so, isn't it the first time we see this behavior?

Paddles have been used since CES in January if I remember correctly, maybe earlier.

*EDIT Yes earlier I think.

They have only Japanese sales data for TT from what I can see.
