In the E3 trailer, Vettel was talking about a car "easily reaching 400 kmh on straightaways" ;)

Yeah I dont think Vettel was talking about his F1 car either, those top out at like 200-210~ right? They definately cant realy 250 with all that drag even at monza.
I guess its safe to guess he's on about the X1 thing? Then again how would he know? Its not a real car?!

Didn't they install a new demo at Gamescom once the embargo was over? They might do the same at TGS.

I hope they will show a playable demo with weather effects on !!! that would be awesome as a teaser for the final game !!! incredible how theyr are achieving all this at 60 fps and 1280*1080 resolution...higher framerate, higher resolution and better graphics than any other racing game in consoles incredible achievement !

good point, and hopefully the surprise would be that vettel is doing some voice recordings for the final GT5 game !!! (co pilot ? license tests ?)

I think I heard that there will be a co-pilot in the rally point to point stages as they will supposebly be randomly generated.
I might be misunderstood though but I'm sure thats what I heard about.

What do we think these online "gifts" are? Sending cars to your down on their luck friends that you purchased and/or tuned?

Probably, or credits? Perhaps both.

I know what they intended for it, but I fully plan on using it as a 'raise the stakes' betting option with my friends. I win, I get your *insert rare/expensive car here*, you win, you get *insert X1 here, or something*.

👍

That GT academy on TV is great..I hope it will be available in Germany too...
During the academy I already said to my buddies this would be great as a live show in TV!!! Like "Drift Tengoku" in Japan... Why do we Europeans don't have this funny stuff here?...

Shorts? :P

Sorry. But yeah who else should we look out for? I've completely forgotten who went.

No shorts. It was February and cacking it down.

MarkWebber, TiZzLa, PrudentBear and pippin(some numbers) are the GTP representatives from Australia, New Zealand and the UK (twice) respectively. Also Luca Lorenzini and Jordan Tresson, the eventual finalists. Many of the other international drivers are more active on their own language GT boards.

Oh and LucasOrdonez and the lovely, lovely Sabine.

This could be old news, but Costco in the U.S. is taking preorders for GT5 (standard) at $54.99 (including shipping and handling according to the webpage). It says the shipping takes 7-10 days from release. I am going to order a copy for my friend and save a few bucks over Gamestop and Amazon!
downside is that it the game will not have any bonuses.
:)
it also shows a release date of 10/27/2010! haha
