What about the 800+cars that are in PSP GT? They are not on the list, and they are portable to GT5 are they not? Isn't this a confirmed feature of PSP GT?

Its been said no where that all cars from PSP would be included in GT5.

Stephanie Yoshimoto on the PlayStation Blog has said All.

Thanks for the feedback Jimmy903. Yes, you will be the envy of your friends when Gran Turismo 5 comes out with all the cars you unlock in Gran Turismo

And now 1Up says Yamauchi is confirming all cars.

In the interview, Yamauchi confirmed that you'll be allowed to bring your entire collection of cars earned in Gran Turismo PSP into GT5 without penalty. "The PSP version has over 800 cars included, and that number's even higher in GT5," he commented. "I want to get gamers in all sorts of different vehicles, from the latest models to old classics and world-class sports cars. Having the freedom to drive whatever you want is one of the main attractions of GT, after all."

I'm still not convinced that they mean 100% yet, but the word "All" has been used by the Senior Product Marketing Manager for the US group working on the game.

I'll be disappointed if it really is "all"; so many are just different-market versions (two Orecas, three Tiburons, etc etc), and it also means only about 100 cars that aren't in the PSP version. Unless of course the 950+ number is extremely conservative.

Car at 0:25... what is that? The ASL?

TBH thats not satisfying news. I was hoping they'd cut some Japanese cars like the Skylines and Lancers (not that I hate them, in face I love Lancers, but c'mon? 30+ variants? Even 15 is understandable) but it seems its not as much effort as you'd expect. Why? Because after modeling say a '95 Integra, it won't be hard to just copy it and rename it as the '99 version. Same goes with all the other cars. And, I just feel uneasy thinking of all those variants, in whose place could have been so many more classics, muscles, European sport cars.

We have gone over this time and time again, Skylines did not take the place of any other car.

But they (I hope) are not wasting time with those cars. (I guess) They just copy-paste and change the specs like weight and HP.

(I think) Taking them out will not translate in more different nice cars.

Let's just say nice things about GT. They can come here to read and delay the game to put more stuff in. :P

Thanks for that vid.

There's a good chance that not every car in GT PSP will be in GT5 becuase there are a lot of mainstream cars to be updated since GT4 was made and most of GT PSP's cars were converted from GT4. I wouldn't mind every car from GT4 being in GT5, but only if as you said, the 950 cars number is conservative. I do expect to see up to date car models in GT5 and I think we will see them.

The new official UK gran turismo site had the car list as a news item but the site has been taken down. It looked like the PSP car list. It may have just been a PSP list though.

Thats for the PSP.

They say all your collection can be transferred from GT PSP to GT5.

all your collection can be transferred

your collection

100 car limit on transfer (I think).

So the only way the both of those can be true, is if the player owns 100 car in their garage (presumably that's ALL you can have), and they're the ones that are common between GTPSP and GT5.
Also, that Lexus and ASL make my eyes hurt.

How many cars are you allowed to store in GTPSP, actually i remember hitting a "cap" at some point in GT4 or is my memory off?

I tihnk no ones jumping the gun on the GTPSP list BECAUSE after all , all Kaz interviews are translated, and we know how that goes.

1000 car limit in GT4.

The 95' Integra is different from the 99; slight cosmetic changes and larger rims. Believe a retuned suspension too... ;).

Also, I actually hope they don't just update models from GT4 to GT5. I want an E46 M3 just as much as an E90. That's the point of the game; an encyclopedia of cars. Hell, I still want all the old GT1 and 2 LM editions back.

If you watched a recent interveiw with KAz, he says that they threw away all the code for Physics from GT4 ans started from scratch, maybe the 3d models too?

Before I start, I just want to say that I am not completely sure on what you are saying and so I might be way off.

Where did you get that 100 car figure? I have just gone through the in-game manual and it says nothing of the sort. I would test this but with no GT5 I can't . All I know is that the option just says Transfer Car Collection Data and when I select it tries to do it without mentioning anything about a maximum number, and of course then it gives me an error.

So the only way the both of those can be true, is if the player owns 100 car in their garage (presumably that's ALL you can have),
Whoa whoa whoa. Since when can we only have 100 cars in our garage? I own 168 cars in GT PSP. I can only display up to 100 at a time as the display options are "Last 100 Acquired" "Last 100 Driven" "By Favorite" and "List By Manufacturer" If I want to look at them all I just list them by manufacturer and can select smaller lists of one manufacturer at a time. I have access to all 168 of my cars.

And if you are talking about GT5 only having 100 cars in the garage, that seems ridiculous as GT4 had 1000 on a limited space memory card. GT5 can access your whole hard drive and expand the storage space as necessary.

The French article that first referred to "possibilité d'uploader une centaine de véhicules obtenus dans le GT sur PSP".

The possibility to upload a hundred of the vehicles obtained from GT on PSP.

I forgot that one. Looks like I didn't understand what he was saying. :dunce:

I'm wary of translations. I am still leaning toward believing what the product marketing manager said, since that is the only non-translated thing I've read so far, but I agree that it still isn't confirmation enough mean that every single version of every car from GT PSP will transfer over.

If that is the case then the unlocalized cars will all be in GT5 and I have to believe that they want to avoid the backlash from that.

OT - How do you mean, "localised" ? (Yes I'm Australian, we use Z's less often than you guys!)

OT - How do you mean, "localised" ? (Yes I'm Australian, we use Z's less often than you guys!)
The best example of this, just because it is blatant in GT PSP (it even says it in the details page) is the Hyundai Tiburon.

Depending on the region the nearly exact same car can be found under the names Tuscani (Korea) or Coupe (Japan). I believe the Coupe had a slight power difference. In GT4 the name of the car depended on your local region. The car had been localized. In the US all I saw was the Tiburon. In GT PSP on the same screen I have the Hyundai Tiburon, Hyundai Tuscani, and Hyundai Coupe. They didn't localize some of the cars and just included all regional name variations. In one instance with a Tiburon and Tuscani they were even the exact same price.

Another example is the Mazda6 or Mazda Atenza. Same car, different name depending on region. In GT4 I only saw the Atenza name on Japanese only variations. In GT PSP I have both versions of touring cars, concept cars, production cars, and Mazdaspeed models.

There are a few other examples too.

So, when I say localized, I mean that transferring all cars from GT PSP to GT5 will likely not take every single version if they keep it to just the local model names. I doubt GT5 will have a Tiburon and Tuscani in the US. I will likely just see a Tiburon, as was the case with GT4. If we have an advertised 950 cars but there are duplicates under different names they will have more upset fans than is already the case with GT PSP.

And based on this thinking, I doubt all truly means All the cars, and so adding the GT PSP car list to this GT5 list would be a bit of guesswork, as to whether we would need to create seperate region lists, like the GT4 lists in the Guide section, or a long list with near replicas.

What is the word so far on the GT d1 cars making an appearance in the full Version GT5.
I'd like to drive the d1 lexus sc430, Daigo Saito's my Bran's Chaser jx100, Manabu Orido's RSR supra, and the 2009 Ken Nomura r34 blitz.
Honestly, I'm a fan of power and flashy drift cars.
I like the artistic side of product placement and theme colored decals.

I see that current D1 Cars feature the GT Decal across the top of the windshield.
I'm assuming this means everyone of these sponsored cars will be in gt5. Am I correct?

Unfortunately, no. Sponsoring by Gran Turismo on race cars doesn't necessarily mean these cars will be in a Gran Turismo game. Some are, some aren't.

Exactley, Gran Turismo has sponsored loads of race events like the Nurburgring 24hrs, that doesn't mean every car in that race wil bein GT5. The odd one might, but most won't.
