Why have they shown us only Toscana with the change between day and night? Is it normal?
Because they want to tease us?

I'm glad they don't show too much before the game is released.

EDIT: Oops, double post. Sorry

They'll most likely be in alot of the courses, Toscana just happens to be the one showcasing it so far, most likely as someone said its the same E3 demo. They won't show all of it until a major event and its quite possible (to me at least) that GC could be that event (or TGS).

Hi there.Well i am buffled about one thing....IS GT5 going to have only 20 different tracks to race OR is it going to have 20 LOCATIONS with 60-70 different tracks to race ?

In prologue there are 6 tracks and most of them have different variations. Are the variations counted in the total number of tracks or the total number is made by completely different tracks ?

So far from the home page of grand turismo we know that nurburing will be there with 3 variations, madrid city track will be there, rome will also be there, tuskani will be a rally course, there will be the top gear test track. The indianapolis track was found in the gt5 physics demo and tokyo route 269 was found in the 2009 e3 presentation....Also tsukuba will be there...So...if you add the existing 6 that around 6+8 14...so if there will be only 20 tracks thats only more 6....Or i am completely wrong and the list found here is more possible with around 60-70 tracks ?

Really? What may be an obvious choice for you, isn't for others.

EDIT: If we'll get all tracks from GT4 I'll be more than happy.

I'm with you on that one, bro. Part of me wishes that PD would maybe not include as many cars in exchange for more classic tracks from GT4 & GTPSP. Cuz so far, all we've really seen is Tokyo, Tuscany, Rome, Madrid, the 'Ring and Indianapolis. I might have left some out but those seem to be the ones seen the most in the videos. So what worries me is, all my favourites like Laguna Seca, Grand Valley Speedway and El Capitan (just to name a few) will be absent :nervous:. And I really don't wanna see that happen. Who knows, maybe Sony/Pd are like...holding a lot of information back? Maybe the game will feature more tracks then we've seen. Hopefully. :scared:

We had a discussion earlier this week, probably in this thread, and it is 20 countries. So let that put your mind to rest on that front at least.

As for whether they are tracks, or variation of tracks, we are still unsure

EDIT: Page 55, Witham posted my scans of magazines

 :D!!!👍 Ok, I'm not as worried about those tracks anymore. Maybe...I still wish we had a confirmed list!!

You mean from that French issue of OPM? Apparently the O was bought by that magazine. More important they wrote both "20 pays" and "20 environnements" though in different issues.
From PD we know two things: the numbers 20+ for locations and 70+ for variations, and the statement that the number of tracks wasn't determined as of E3 I believe.

Anyone know if Rouen is in, would be a great tribute to the circuit if included.Sadly only some of the track, is there now.It was a great track too, loads of footage on YT.

I don't think it will be in considering that a lot of existing tracks are still not included...
But the more the merrier !

By the way, since this time Nascar is in, don't you think PD could include the old Nascar layout of Fuji Speedway? After all they already included the unchicaned one from the '80s in GT4. The old banked section seems fun:

Wikipedia
"In 1969 I spent two months in Japan doing a test contract for Toyota and their Toyota 7 (5 litre V-8), which along with a big Nissan (6.3 litre V-12), was destined for CanAm. My last testing and then the subsequent Sports Car GP were at Fuji, but the track was run in a clockwise direction. The reason that banking was so horrific, was that at the end of the straight we went over a blind crest at around 190/200 mph and dropped into the banking. At other tracks (Daytona, Monthlery, etc.) you climb up the banking. One of the results was that although there were many brave Japanese drivers there were not too many with great skill and the death toll from that one corner was horrendous. To such an extent that the big Gp 7 cars were then banned in Japan and thus, neither Nissan or Toyota ever made it to CanAm."

NASCAR layout? The NASCAR drove there?
I only know that they had one race at Suzuka East (which is featured in NASCAR '98 from EA by the way.).

No, but it was supposed to. Wikipedia again:

Fuji Speedway Corporation was established in 1963, as Japan NASCAR Corporation. At first, the circuit was planned to hold the race of the NASCAR form in Japan. Therefore, the track was originally designed to be as a 4 km (2.5 mile) high-banked superspeedway, but there was not enough money to complete the project and only one of the bankings was ever designed. Mitsubishi Estate Co. invested in the circuit, and took the management right on October 1965.

^ He has more guts than the "Drift King"!

-> I believe that track should be a notable mention in GT5 for the sake of NASCAR-based vehicles. :)

Australia had a NASCAR track called 'The Thunderdome' although the series was called AUSCAR lol. It didn't last long and I'd be very surprised if it will be in GT5.
