Somebody with more than 100 posts want to start a Master Photomode Locations thread?

edit:

There are these from the FT86 screenshots as well:

Pointed gothic arch...probably somewhere in Germany or France

Looks like German written on the building to the left.

That was a much earlier build of GT5 however.

Have you played Prologue? That's Bad Neuenahr/Ahrweiler (to be precise, the Niedertor), a town a couple of KM away from the Ring.

So, do we have a list of the photomode locations?

HEY! Multiple Cars in Photomode! Awesomeness! Now, I can take the team cars or the old Challenger and New Challenger and put 'em in the same photo location instead of sifting through races.

EDIT: Maybe new cars will arrive via racing truck ala Ridge Racer 6.

I have seen in neogaf Spa Francorchamps as a confirmed track, someone knows where this info comes from?

IIRC Jordan got early word (months before we knew) of the GT Academy Time Trial from a unnamed source, apparently they mentioned the TT would be on Indy or Spa. Since then we haven't heard a thing, that news along with a couple other clues it seems very likely but I wouldn't class it as confirmed yet.

Why is it so hard to understand that you can't? Not without a proper 3D modeling tool, texture maker and tons of photos of the track you want to create? Even then you'll be far behind PD, because they spend weeks at the track, measure everything up and everything you can think of. It takes months even for PD to create a track.

Can you read? Good, try reading my posts before you reply.:dunce: I don't need to create scenic backdrops, or road textures, all I need to do is crate the track layout, nothing more, there's not much to see at QLD Raceway anyway. It clearly says we can dictate track layout, 'nuff said. It won't be perfect but if one spends enough time you could get a pretty good interpretation, or have you never ever heard of rFactor which does exactly as I'm describing albeit with more tools to model the backdrop which is irrelevant.

Edit: Never mind now that more details on the track "creator" have come to light I realise it will be hard to even get a track close to what you want.

Paulie judging by the screens we've been given I'm doubting whether we can create individual track layouts. I get the impression that there will be set parameters and we adjust them according to how tight or flowing we want a circuit. From that we can adjust corner angle width camber course length etc, but I highly doubt we're been given free reign like Mod-Nations in terms of layout.

I'd love to have your idea but they'd have to give us a really simplified version of their real track editor which would probably take a while to develop. Needless to say when I heard track editor I thought QR and Oran Park straight away.

I'm just happy that we have something like this. Not many sim racing games can say that they have a track editor.

There you have it, more than 70 unique tracks!

As we were the first session and had a slight overrun, Kazunori couldn’t take many questions. However, he was able to confirm that the number of unique courses available in the game is “more than 70″ – with the added scope of online Course Maker circuits – and that despite their best efforts to respond to criticism about standard car interiors, they were not able to implement cockpit camera (even one similar to GTPSP’s) in GT5 – a source of some disappointment to Kazunori, who is never happy to let down his fans and is probably his own biggest critic.

Yeah, no QLD Raceway after all with these details coming to light.:(

Would for example Nurburgring GP and Nurburgring Nordschleife count as different unique tracks? Or both as variations of the Nurburgring unique track?

Unique, but 24 hour and Tourist Nordschleife would not be unique

So I figure total track count with reverse and variations has to be well over 100!

Unique, but 24 hour and Tourist Nordschleife would not be unique
That's absolutely not clear there.
Couldn't Nordschleife and GP, and 24h be simply variations of the full layout instead?

Anyway, are we really sure of this 70 unique tracks information? I fear Yamauchi has been vague as usual or meant/understood something else (for example unique as in "selectable").

I'm thinking that because assuming all GT4 tracks are back (as hinted various times in the past), that Spa will be unveiled at TGS (not confirmed, but pretty much likely at this point), adding all known GT5 tracks, and counting known or very likely variations (but not reverse versions), we should have a total of about 70 tracks, maybe something more if additional karting arenas are added.

So you're a PD insider eh?:sly: Good, tell them to get to Australia and at least put some premium Aussie cars in to make the game more enjoyable for me.:P
No, but I told you you were not gonna be able to create real life tracks, more than one time actually. But you were sooo confident that you would, and now you're disapointed. Too bad.

That's because we didn't know the details on the track editor yet, I was under the impression we could create a track by putting straights and corners where ever we like.

San Galgano a track, other than a photomode location...could it be?
Maybe Andreas was right.

Unique...

unique
- 4 dictionary results

–adjective
1.
existing as the only one or as the sole example; single; solitary in type or characteristics: a unique copy of an ancient manuscript.
2.
having no like or equal; unparalleled; incomparable: Bach was unique in his handling of counterpoint.
3.
limited in occurrence to a given class, situation, or area: a species unique to Australia.
4.
limited to a single outcome or result; without alternative possibilities: Certain types of problems have unique solutions.
5.
not typical; unusual: She has a very unique smile.

–noun
6.
the embodiment of unique characteristics; the only specimen of a given kind: The unique is also the improbable.

What I posted there is what Unique means... But to me when someone says Unique to me it means 1 (one) of a kind.. so in regard to GT5, and tracks

I would hazard a guess and say 1 unique track being a track, and then maybe other slight variations of that 1 unique track. So if there are 70 unique tracks "which has been mentioned". I would say that 70 unique tracks means 70 tracks not including variations on said track... say like how silverstone has various layouts for certain races.. the unique could be silverstone, but the various other layouts aren't classed as tracks but layouts...

But then again, it really depends on PD/KY's view of the term "unique"

Err, why isn't the Anti-NASCAR brigade, P:censored:ing and Moaning about the Sienna Kart track just being an oval!!!! WHAT??!? BUT YOU CAN ONLY TURN IN ONE DIRECTION!, That requires NO skill!!! Heracy!!!! Burn it at the Stake!!!! Even if it is challenging it will be WAY to boring!!! I'll probably B-Spec all the Sienna events!!!

</sarcasm>

Maybe Andreas was right.
Since Piazza del Campo (Siena) appears to be a drivable photo-mode location (only with Karts and Fiat 500s according to a video I watched previously), maybe San Galgano will be too.

Seems like good logic alucard0712.There is no variations of those three. So could be 20+, non variable tracks & 70 other variables as other tracks.Who knows.

S&S.

There has been something like 19 confirmed so far, and very few rally, and no original GT tracks yet. I have a feeling it is going to be somewhere around 40 bespoke locations. Just a guess.
