How did someone come up with Chamonix and Ice Arena as confirmed? I watched the weather video referenced in that Excel list. Yeah, they're snowy tracks and look kinda similar, but I didn't see any specific bits that identify them as the courses from GT4.

Ice Arena was in the Red Bull trailer.
If you pay attention to the weather video (make sure you're watching a high resolution version) you will see that there are "Chamonix" road signs around the snowy track.

I think all new tracks for gt4 make it for GT5. i don't think they created these tracks for one game and then drop them. this includes: Chamonix, Chamonix Ice Arena, Grand Canyon, Costa di Almafi, Citta di Aria, Hong Kong, New Yerk, Seoel, El Capitan, cathedral Rocks Trials, Opera Paris, George V Paris.

Also Valencia Circuit whit apears into GT'PSP.

I respectfully disagree. I don't buy any game for online. If it can't stand up on its single player, it's not worth buying.

I'm with you on that. GT single player mode always gave months of value, racing to unlock the next car. For me this is where I get the most fun discovering new cars and mastering tracks.

Online racing (in any racer-not just GT) suffers from Bumper car sydrome where you are doing well and get shunted off track by kamikaze drivers who think a car is a weapon (not very realistic!). Unless Sony implement a penalty system, the game will not be fun online.

The good thing is: There's a replay saving function that apparently works for online gameplay, too. So if you've got a bunch of people that is regularly driving with you, you can save a replay of someone who's got a "not-so-friendly" racing behavior, you can spot him, prove that he did it an bam! - he isn't longer allowed to drive with your guys. Ok, that should be clarified before racing together... I will try to do that this way.

And at arrangements of "important" races (like championships with a lot of people who are way too serious & stuff) there can be some guys (referees? I don't know...) who are watching the races in realtime and impose penalties.

I think, if you organize it the right way, you'll get great races without too many assholes all the time. :odd:

Does anyone think that Silverstone is in? It was in the GT Academy program. Also that karting track outside Silverstone could be added.

Silverstone was in the GT5P weather location list.
While those locations won't necessarily appear in the final game, some of them are already confirmed or have appeared in past games (GT4/PSP). So there's a possibility that it might be in.

About Silverstone, I am still hoping that the GT5P weather locations will make their way to GT5 as real circuits. It's not impossible really.

It would make sense if GT5P hinted both weather (which is now confirmed) and real world circuits to appear in GT5.

From a purely personal view, I have no doubt whatsoever that the weather locations mark tracks that were intended at that time to be included in GT5. Of course, that doesn't mean that all (or indeed any that are currently unconfirmed) will actually make it. I'm not expecting any of them, but I'm sure hoping for most of them!

I'll agree that the tracks which are shown in the weather locations not already included ( around 10, not that much ) were or are possibly intended to all be eventually included in the GT-series and not necessarily in GT5.
Only one so far ( Monza ) made the cut as far as we know now and to have them all would almost be too good to be true ( but there's hoping still ).
I actually made a post about this very subject a few pages back which goes a bit further into the choice of weather locations used in Prologue.

That's a very reasonable way to approach it. It seems likely those were planned circuits, no doubt a lot could have changed in the last three years but here's hoping most of them make it in. Silverstone and Spa would be the icing on the cake for me.

Online gaming is extremely over rated in my honest opinion. It was fun when I first started playing online but now its just very repetitive and boring. A game has to have a great story/career mode to keep me hooked.
👍+1
I will be playing GT Life mode for a long time.
I would also be just as happy with GT5 without online, although it's a nice addition.
Me too. I will play GT/arcade mode probably 99% of the time. The only online activities I'll participate in are the track days with gtplanet members. I hope I'll have more than two friends from gtplanet on PSN by the time GT5 releases.

@SHIRAKAWA Akira
Keep up the good work on your track chart sir. Very informative and organized.

@ CyborgGT; Ref 1st post edit... Yesterday at 8:47 AM. Reason: Added Laguna, Trial Mountain, Autumn Ring, "Cape Ring South," and El Capitan, with proof links for the latter three.

Can you please clarify what time frame(s) of the "evidence clip" shows El Capitan? I don't see it. Happy with the others mentioned here. Thanks.

The part with the Ferrari F60.

EDIT: The video was removed. The F60 was shown driving on El Capitan.

Ah yes... Got it. 👍

TGS 10 Red Bull trailer (?!?) [0m57s] @ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9RFCGtBj5h0
GT4 [0m13s] @ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kcwyOrDMtcs

El Capitan it is.

Where does that section of that first clip hail from officially? I've noticed that a couple of segments include footage from the GT PSP intro (not the El Capitan bit).

It's also not from the official "night driving" trailer @ http://www.youtube.com/watch#!v=IfyonN7WC4M
... nor the 'GT History' trailer @ http://www.youtube.com/watch#!v=ikFrGkJt5f4
...... nor the E3 2010 trailer @ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JLbSu72pzB0
........ nor the TGS '10 weather trailer @ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bqOqwf3YQuw
.......... nor the X1 trailer @ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zMSPQYT1xIo

Can someone confirm that snippet was taken from another GT5 source?

Some of us believe that the GT PSP intro was created using GT5 footage. You are referring to the clip with the Corolla and Celica rally cars correct? That clip is obviously used in the GT PSP intro as well.

We have seen the Nurburgring GP grand stands in the GTPSP intro. Also, we have seen the same footage from the GTPSP intro being used twice for GT5 trailers. Does that confirm anything? No one knows, but it certainly makes sense that they would just use GT5 for the GTPSP intro. Watch the intro again and imagine it being GT5.

By the way, what glitch?

I will be the first to admit that I am not an expert.

However, a glitch such as that, points more to it being "in game" than pre rendered.

Plus, in regard to the GT PSP into. That garage appears in GT5 footage. And so does that "smoky reflective floor".

I did say PD used stock models, tracks, etc - for the trailers. That glitch is not from anything "in-game". Anyway... Enough off topic stuff. I'm interested in where that El Capitan snip came from because I don't recall seeing it before these fan made videos.

Yea, I just reread your earlier comment and now I see what you are saying.

Anyway, yea El Capitan was in the Trailer that was pulled from the Red Bull website during TGS.
