I really hope that SSR5 makes it, I have so many memories of blasting race converted skylines round that track!

And I have a feeling we'll be seeing a bit of track DLC! Sony have just released a 320gb slim. Coincedence?

That track is in.

I'm sure there is a connection between releasing a new PS3 close to the GT5 launch as there will be a bundle. I don't see how it has anything to do with DLC though.

SHIRAKAWA excuse me for a second but I think that you should include the track creator locations as tracks, maybe with an special label because they are most likely to be the toscana track, among other "editor tracks" that we are yet to see.

Personally I think too that for most track creator location there will be a proper "fixed" track mady by Polyphony as you're implying. We know for example there is a Toscana dirt circuit and that probably there will be a Toscana road circuit. These locations have been seen in Course Maker screenshots.

However what about other course maker locations?
From interviews, we know there are at least these additional locations:
- Belgian High Fens
- German Springtime

I'm not sure if it's OK to add them as tracks, because they could be the locations of some of the tracks we know that will or could appear in the game, that are already in the list.
Or they could end up being only locations for random rally/dirt tracks, with no "fixed" track made by PD using them. I don't feel it would be right to add random locations to the list.

At any rate, I'd like to see some more information about those Course Maker locations, first. We still know too little about them.

I wonder if we can try and make tarmac ovals with the creator. You know, to make up for lack of NASCAR ovals. But, even if it's just road courses, it would be cool to have a touge between stock cars. Although, the creator will be even better for rally racing, drifting, and touge events.

If I may, this is an updated version of my list.
I've noticed that most tracks have been referenced over the time in a way or another:

Where is the proof about weather on Estoril, Magny-Court, Jerez...?

Well, those circuits are on the weather locations screen, so...
It's not really "proof", but their inclusion in GT5 isn't "proved" either.
For a less speculative list check out the version provided on the bottom of that post.

EDIT
I applied about the same logic for tracks featured in the night racing video, even though they weren't shown at actual night time (only SSR5 was).
The only "out of place" track in that video was Indianapolis though. I'm not aware of races extending through the night on that track in real life.

The Top Gear Test Track has been shown at different times of the day in certain videos.

What video was this shown in? I haven't noticed indy at Night.

What video was this shown in? I haven't noticed indy at Night.

The track was shown in what is officially called Gran Turismo 5 Night Racing Trailer. Once again, please note that the only track actually shown at night in the video is Special Stage Route 5. However all other tracks appearing in the video, excluding Indianapolis, make sense in a night environment (real races or facilities for night racing).

I'll list them here again:

  • Special Stage Route 5 (whether time will change it's unknown)
  • Nurburgring (24 hours races in real life)
  • Tsukuba (the track has illumination for night racing. On Enthusia there even was a night version of this track)
  • Indianapolis (the track isn't suitable for night racing, it doesn't seem there are night/evening races performed on it. Daytona does, though)
  • Rome (Rome night anyone? Also in the video it appears to have a different time of the day than in recent demos)
  • Fuji Speedway (night/evening events occasionally performed on it, don't know about proper racing. The track has got illumination)
  • High Speed Ring (from the Times Square Event we know it's got weather. As one of the most iconic original tracks in GT, it would make sense for it to have night races too)
  • Toscana (tarmac version. The dirt version has got night/day cycle, it would make sense for the tarmac version to have that too)
  • Tokyo R246 (Special Stage tracks have been heavily inspired by the night view of Tokyo expressway roads. It would make sense to have a night version of this circuit too)
I agree (in advance) this is probably speculating too much, but except Indianapolis, these tracks all make sense for night racing in my opinion.

Tracks that would be used for endurance races would be the logical candidates for day/night transition. Tracks such as Le Mans & the Nurburgring are obvious ones, but also Daytona's Road course has been used since 1962 for 24 hour races. The Shelby Daytona Coupe & the Ferrari Daytona named for. :)

If Spa is ever confirmed it would be another candidate.

Wait, why exactly would Indianapolis be bad for night racing?

As long as your head lights work, what would be the problem?

You have a point. However to me it seemed "out of place" as NASCAR ovals used for night racing usually have plenty of illumination. This much, for example:

The infield is lit up pretty good, I took this shot with no flash.

So can you confirm that night/evening races are performed at Indianapolis?
Not that this will confirm night racing on that track in GT5, of course, but if yes then I guess there wouldn't be "out of place" tracks in that video.

The image was taken at Daytona's infield at the west horseshoe, I'm not aware of any night races at Indianapolis road course.

I see. No wonder I've been unable to find any night race photo of Indianapolis.
This is one of the few night images I've been able to find:

At the Times Square event, players were discouraged by Sony reps to browse through the tracks. Why? Does anyone believe there might be new/returning tracks we don't know about yet? I'm sick of all this...secrecy. It's driving me insane. I don't wanna keep guessing anymore.

Anyone hear anything about Infineon being in the game, it was one of my favorite tracks in GT4, and with the addition of Nascar I hope it would be included. Since Infineon is one of the road courses they run on.

Infineon and Laguna Seca are my favorite venues to race at, anyone know any other tracks with similar characteristics to them?

There's usually night racing at Suzuka in the SuperGt series.

Was under the impression night races were held within the SuperGT series at Fuji but couldn't find any video evidence.

Hope we can race at Suzuka at night too in the game

Can't seem to get video to display:indiff:

Fixed it.

For example if this is the URL:
www .youtube .com/watch?v=D52uNQfqiwk
you will put the characters after the "v=" in between the Youtube tags:
[ YOUTUBE]D52uNQfqiwk[ /YOUTUBE] (without the spaces)
