Anyone hear anything about Infineon being in the game, it was one of my favorite tracks in GT4, and with the addition of Nascar I hope it would be included. Since Infineon is one of the road courses they run on.

Infineon and Laguna Seca are my favorite venues to race at, anyone know any other tracks with similar characteristics to them?

I would say it is likely, but we do not know yet.

Another track that is similar, I would say Bathurst. It is a great track in Australia. It is unlikely that it will make it in though.

Just as a side note, Grand Am did some testing last September on the Indianapolis road course as a possible future venue for it's Rolex & Continental Series.
As far as I know none of the main sports car series Grand Am & SCCA (World Series) use in road course.

There's usually night racing at Suzuka in the SuperGt series.

Was under the impression night races were held within the SuperGT series at Fuji but couldn't find any video evidence.

Hope we can race at Suzuka at night too in the game

Can't seem to get video to display:indiff:

This video just made me realize some things. Driving some cars at night s going to suck. The Garaiya seemed to have not as powerful headlights as well as the yellow tint (which Im hoping GT will represent), as where the GTR seemed to have very bright headlights. In addition I didn't know Super GT has LMPs. Looks like a cross between the R10 and the Zonda with a little bit of reminiscence from the TS020.

Thanks, I have been trying to figure out what I really enjoy about those tracks. I believe there are both very smooth tracks, except maybe the famous downhill S corner at Laguna, which you can take that fairly smoothly if done right. I also seem to prefer very stiff suspensions, which often favor smooth fast tracks.

I am hope that with down loadable content, that we will be able to sample many more tracks around the world.

The Mooncraft Shiden is not technically an LMP although the chassis is built by Riley Technologies (although designed in part by Mooncraft). (Riley is a well known Daytona prototype builder as well as LMPs in the 90s and early 00s) Here is Mooncraft's site if you feel like broadening your knowledge.

Never hurts. They are also partially responsible for Yamaha's only car, the OX99-11.

I'm not getting my hopes up beyond the tracks we've already seen. I mean they have to be holding SOMETHING over for GT6 (which they have already started working on).

I also think there will be a couple of nice cars held over for GT6 - maybe the Lexus LFA - would explain why Sony banned the Redbull trailer that featured a glimpse of the LFA exhaust

I think you can be sure that they will throw all they have into GT5. True that some things may be planned for GT6 but I don't think they would waste hours to hold anything.

Don't forget that we could also see more tracks in possible DLC.

Now if this game were published by Activision I'd be more confident in telling you that there would be tons of overpriced DLC

At least we'd get some for sure..... And a game to play it with...

If Activision was making this game, it'd have been out 3 years ago with 10% of the cars, 30 tracks total (including alt. configurations), horrible graphics, and it would've still cost $60.

I'm annoyed over the delay, but I really don't have a right to complain considering how much better Polyphony does racing games than any other company.

I just think Kazanori is a little too skeptical of the patch system. I'm sure the game could easily be released in any state right now (after the spit and polish of menus, of course) and any 'perfecting' he wants to do could be done in patches within the next few months after release.

And thinking about it, something tells me we aren't going to have much in the line of for-profit DLC. Consider - at the rate their going, they've more than established that they're going for a quality game rather than a "good game for profit." If they're going to add anything later on through patches or DLC, it's either going to be free (and include 1 or 2 tracks and new cars to be added to the dealerships) or it's going to cost maybe $5-10 and be absolutely ridiculous. Either that, or they'll just sit on everything until GT6. Lord knows we have enough patience as Gran Turismo fans. They could get away with it.

Remember that not everyone has internet on his PS3. Therefore he wants the game to be perfect without patches.

PD could easily think of something like patches available for download to a USB device which can be transferred to the PS3 as a second option.

What track is this. I thought it was china f1 track however I'm not sure any help.

Oh, ok. That would explain a lot. Thanks for the link too.

But that still leaves me curious as to the headlight issue. See what happens?

Ok thanks I just thought that they looked like the stands shaped like the work china just before the long straight.

I know which stands you're talking about, but instead of flags, the stands read 'Made In China'.

Yes that curves seem to be Madrid.

The "Circuito de Madrid" banners are a good hint ;)

Goldrusher, thanks for providing that. I'm ashamed to say that even though it was clearly Madrid I couldn't see the obvious route for the short course.

Everywhere there are mentioned 20 tracks ...is it even possible (now that we have almost 30 confirmed tracks), that this issue could be true? 20-30 tracks would be a huge disappointment for me.

Any news on "Deep Forest", Grand Valley, Seattle Circuit, Smokey Mt., & Swiss Alps?

So far there hasn't been any news, but the chances are great that most, maybe not all of original courses will return, because of the high track counts that PD has stated. :)

I don't think that there will be only 20 tracks. The main reason is because just by taking into account the 100% confirmed ones there already are more than 20. I also doubt that we have already seen most tracks that will be in the final build and that so many old glories from past games will be left out. 30 tracks (the list above with a few additions) would only be possible if the "100 variations" reference often cited recently included reverse versions and if that most original tracks will have several small "simple" variations (like the Madrid short track).

Personally, I still believe there will be around 60 original unique tracks, and 100 variations in total excluding reverse versions.

However there are clues that PD is going the "create many smaller variations from original tracks and double the count with reverse versions" route, which I would hate if will turn out to be the case for GT5.

60 unique tracks would be more than enough for me ...I don't care that much about variations, but I just can't imagine 20 tracks being fun for more than 2 months - especially because we know must of them from GT4.
Of course there's the course maker, but this doesn't replace some awesome tracks like Deep Forest or Grand Valley ...not to mention city courses like NY or Paris.

Cool, seeing how Deep Forest, Trial Mt., Midfield, Seattle, The SS Routes, & Grand Valley are by far my favorite GT tracks... Hoping Spa Franchorchamps, Manaco (Cote de Azure), and some sort of Japanese down hill/up hill "Kaido" type track make it in as well...

I don't think there's any reason to believe that quoted track numbers, whichever number we think might be closest, will exclude reverse variations.

If the "over 70 variations" option turns out to be the accurate one then I suspect your list earlier on this page will be very close indeed to the real thing. Hopefully "over 100" is true instead, which leaves scope for some of our missing circuits to be revealed eventually.
