Is much known about the Cape Ring course? Does anyone know where it is based on?

Judging by the name alone, I'd say South Africa's Cape Town / Table Mountain National Park, so a mountainous area with much overgrowth, with steep cliffs leading into the sea.

I really like the idea of it being in South Africa. 👍

I'm hoping for South America, Africa, Middle East, and Australia to get more love.

I wonder what 'location' category this will fit into.. So far there is nothing else from South Africa, or anywhere else on the continent..

Didn't see anyone else mention this, but looks like we have new themes for the track generator.

There is 8 themes for course maker.I mean seriously.8.

You say that like it's a bad thing.
8 themes, with a possible infinite amount of variations is well.... infiniti x8 lol. I am very happy with what we've seen. I'd rather have a full track creator but hell this is a great start.

8-9 themes will be great, but I wonder if there will be an extra theme for snow? I know there's a weather option in editor, but snow would need a different landscape with pine trees, timber huts, etc. Snow in Toscana theme doesn't make sense to me!

Whoa! Your post just made me realize that there's a gray scroll bar next to the themes pictures!

Maybe tracks in track creator is just randomly placed? This is second time I see on top different enviroments.

it will be surely more than 9.. muddy and snow landscape will surely be in for the wrc championship.

6 & 7 looks the same to me, just another picture.

I was going to say that 8 and 9 look the same aswell, however we can still be pretty certain that there will be more than 9 themes from the top left screenshot in the image below:

The position and size of the scrollbar in this screenshot would indicate that in that particular build of the game (can't remember off the top of my head exactly which build it is) there were either 9 or 10 themes to choose from (2 above the ones shown, 4 obviously in view, and then a further 3 or 4 below that).

Hopefully in the final game there will be even more themes to choose from, which seems like a good possibility to me.

I don't think it really matters how many themes are made available because they are all bound by the same creation tools and seemingly by the same geography.

Hmmm, could Special Stage Route B look like this?

Someone found out that by joining the two hairpins, they could make a new track! I'd love to see this in GT5.

No, what I temporarily called "B" appears to be a track with "Special Stage" night scenery, but on a long and wide highway-like road (like the Shuto Expressway Route 'B' in Tokyo).
If you check in the weather effects video there's even a toll booth area at the end of it:

This is the real Expressway Route B (aka Bayshore Route):

This is the apparently new Special Stage track from the Weather effects video, in slow motion:

Very interesting, i'll keep a lookout for this track when GT5 is released. It looks like it could be used as a speed test (like the Autobahn) or something similiair.
