This Madrid short might just turn out to be a hoax because we can't see anything special. Nonetheless I don't think it will.

Anyone wondered about possible kart tracks at other circuits? All four Japanese tracks have 'em and so do Daytona, le Mans and Monaco, and if confirmed, Spa's track might as well be used. That's another eight kart tracks if all included.

I don't think there's any reason to believe that quoted track numbers, whichever number we think might be closest, will exclude reverse variations.

If the "over 70 variations" option turns out to be the accurate one then I suspect your list earlier on this page will be very close indeed to the real thing. Hopefully "over 100" is true instead, which leaves scope for some of our missing circuits to be revealed eventually.

By the way, about track numbers again:

“Gran Turismo 5 features 20 racing locations with over 70 track variations”
http://us.gran-turismo.com/us/news/d5247p2.html

“More than 40 tracks with over 100 layouts (including all versions of Nurburgring – which nobody’s ever done before). That enough for you? :)”
http://blog.us.playstation.com/2010/06/18/a-chat-with-kazunori-yamauchi-creator-of-gran-turismo/

“As we were the first session and had a slight overrun, Kazunori couldn’t take many questions. However, he was able to confirm that the number of unique courses available in the game is “more than 70″”
https://www.gtplanet.net/gamescom-gran-turismo-5-breakout-session-full-details/

“Gamers may choose from over 60 circuits including the newly added Tuscany, Madrid, Rome and Indianapolis tracks.”
http://www.motortrend.com/features/consumer/1009_gran_turismo_5/cars_and_tracks.html

“GT5 propose plus de 1000 voitures dont les plus puissantes jamais produites, près de 150 circuits et une experience de la course auto comme vous ne l'avez jamais vécue !”
http://www.parisgamesweek.com/jeux/gran-turismo-5

(Room299 Press Event) “[...] 100 tracks in total. [...]”

I don't think I follow you.
Could you rephrase that?

Daytona does runs karts, but they use the road course, not a special defined one like some courses have.

Not sure if anyone has already posted this yet...

"Screen above says we'll be able to change the clothes"
"Screen above is apparently a real GUI screen for the very beggining of the game - 20,000 credits as a pile for start."

It came from GTPlanet, also did you mean to post this in the master track list thread?

By the way, about track numbers again:

Indeed. I'm aware of all those, but see only the first two as statements from reliable sources without scope for translation-based misunderstandings.

Doesn't change the essence of my post though - whichever number we believe, I believe that number will include reverse variations.

Did anyone see that lovely stealth GTR

What does searching 29 11'23.59" N 81 03'53.54" W in Google maps tell you?
Ok, it might not be fully capable of running a kart race, neither does that infamous square and this at least does have kerbs, a grid and tarmac.

I remember seeing a black McLaren F1 on dirt somewhere around the forums... Can anyone show it to me? It looks like it was at Grand Canyon, since it was the only dirt track with orange dust.

Remember that not everyone has internet on his PS3. Therefore he wants the game to be perfect without patches.

But doesn't the PS3 needs to be patched to the latest firmware to play any current games? Without the latest firmware, you can't play games that are release post firmware update.

I don't need to do a Google search, I live near there, I been at that track for almost every sports car event, testing & NASCAR in the last five years.

The point I was making there isn't a separate course for Kart racing, they use the same road course that cars do, now bike racing is different, they use a variation of the road course, but don't come back onto the oval before turn 1, but come back onto the course after turn 2 & use smaller inner curve of the horseshoe that doesn't show up in PD version of Daytona. :)

Firmwares imbedded into the disk...

Confident there will be over 50 tracks... but I was wondering there seems to be alot of confusion over the "locations-tracks-variations".

Now let's presume the original 20 "tracks/locations" 70 "variations" actually meant 20 countries 70 tracks.

If this was adopted how many countries are we short? Could we not speculate the missing? This could be interesting...

If we consider the countries in the "speculative, but plausible track list" I posted a few pages ago (containing 63 individual tracks), there are 17 of them:

Belgium
Canada
China
France
French Polynesia
Germany
GT (fictional country where many original tracks are located)
Hong Kong
Italy
Japan
Monaco
Portugal
South Korea
Spain
Switzerland
United Kingdom
USA

Taking rallying into account, probably there has to be something in Africa and in scandinavian countries too.
Also something from Australia, possibly.

There is a separate course, it's exactly what the coordinates point to. Might not be used for racing but 100cc karts simply don't race on a circuit made for superbikes, endurance karts and superkarts maybe but not normal 100cc's. And what does it matter?

Anyway Madrid short is now completely and undoubtedly certain.

I haven't seen them use the small separate track at front outside of the track, but what we have is Daytona KartWeek

:)

Hmmmm, this way were very close to the original "20/70"...

Now taking Hong Kong as China... (since 1997)... 16/63

So lets speculate... where there has been proof they've been...

17/64 - Australia - Bathurst... (oh please please please, people who don't know the track won't believe how much this will rock in GT5)

Continuing with the the location/country speculation, some countries might be rally/WRC mode (-> Course Maker) only and not really add anything special to the full track list.
I'll speculate even more by saying that probably, if that is the case, most if not all countries in one of the World Rally Championships won by Sébastien Loeb featuring the Rally Japan could be in GT5. My pick is WRC 2008.
