I feel overwhelmed.

So many car builds and so many races to make for myself. This is the first time I haven't bought multiples of the added cars right after release. I'm stuck on the 205. I've tuned it, but haven't even changed the wheels yet. Been switching back and forth for 20 minutes with do I widebody or leave it stock?

Haven't added to any of my Group A grids because I still haven't put a livery on it. Haven't swapped the engines in my RS 500s either.

I think I have player's block.

Any car that has a swap I buy at least 1 duplicate. That way I have an orignal one and a widebody swapped beast 😅
You got to keep spending that cash when you have all the cars lol.

Another fun week (Even though I skipped race 5)

1. To begin the week, I used my 911 swapped 1200 (Seen rightmost), to say this thing is too quick is an understatement, I was fighting to keep this thing on the road.
2. Next up, I used the C6 Corvette, I think I need to swap in SM tires, as it understeers bad.
3. Next, I used the Skyline Turbo Super Silhouette, I wasn't exepcting this car to handle well, due to it's RH tires, but it did. One of the best handling RH tyred cars I've droven.
4. Finally, the 205 GTI, for it's one make. I put on all parts up to sports tier, which made it easy, Also, has anyone noticed that the seats seem to be low LOD quality on exterior view?

Quite a decent set of races this week, actually. I enjoyed all of them at least a little bit, no races I really disliked and yes I made them a bit of a challenge for myself to make it interesting, as always. The rewards are really disappointing, though, its so uninteresting. At least with a ticket, there's an illusion of randomness to make it feel special.

Decided to try the new quirky addition, with some tweaks to the tuning. I spent 5 times the credits tuning it than it is to buy the damn thing, and it made it a lot more driveable for any sort of race. Stiffened suspension and longer gears made the biggest difference, I think. Still wished I can put more power into it. Otherwise not too bad, I could see it being a good drift car, oddly enough.

Anyone here ever seen that movie Vanishing Point from 1971? The entire movie is basically a long car chase with a white Challenger being chased by police. Thought I would try to pay homage to the poster here. Anyways, the car is a riot to drive with a little bump of power. I loved racing with it.

The Mazda RX500 is incredibly underrated. It handles fantastic since its fun to wrangle around the corners. It looks cool as heck, too. And the sound! I should try to use it more often, now I'm thinking about it. The race itself was fine, surprisingly never been the biggest fan of Interlagos. Road cars are never fun to drive here because its such an aero dependant track.

The 205 GTi is a decent car stock, but it takes a lot to make it go. I wasn't going to spend 4 minutes a lap in it, so I did some light tuning. I think maybe it needs an LSD to really make it work, there was a lot of wheelspin that made it annoying to drive. Alsace is a fun track to drive on, with its sweeping corners, but maybe not the ideal track for a car like the 205.

The last race, I was lukewarm on. I think I just chose the wrong car for it. The GT-R is fine, if a bit uneventful. It made the race really boring for me. Should have chosen one of the older Gr. B cars instead of one of the new, PD designed ones. Maybe I'll give it another go with the old Peugeot 205 T16 or Quattro.


Also been posting here for a couple weeks now, I'm a big photography guy if you guys can't tell by now. I'm having a lot of fun taking the photos as much as I do driving in them. Makes it a little bit more interesting for me.

That was a fun Friday morning drive. All hard difficulty.

Red Bull Ring - Abarth 1500 Biposo Berton B.A.T 1 '52 - I upgraded the tires to SS and added all the sports-level parts for this. I was able to easily win the race last night in practice, but today I could only muster P2, more than 10 seconds back from the winner. Still, good enough for the first ticket.

Grand Valley - Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat Safety Car - The car was already pretty close to the suggested PP, so I only went with SM tires instead of SS. It put me over the suggested amount, but still made for a good race. This is a lot of car to handle on the less grippy tires. Didn't help that I'm not all that familiar with driving the track in the reverse layout. Still managed a pretty easy win for the second check mark.

Interlagos - McLaren MP4-12C '10 - Put on SS tires, which left the car pretty far below the 700 PP limit. Didn't matter. It was an easy win in this car. Second ticket obtained.

Alsace - Peugeot 205 GTI '88 - I threw on SS tires here, but left the car otherwise stock. I was expecting the other cars would be heavily tuned, so I wasn't sure if I'd need more than just the tires. Nope. The tires were way more than I needed. I was through the entire field by the end of the first lap. Easy win and fourth box checked.

Trial Mountain - Peugeot 205 Turbo Evolution 2 '86 - Another race, another 205. I wasn't sure about strategy on this, so I went with RM tires. That worked out well. They lasted the entire race, but I did have to stop for fuel, which I did on lap 5. Most of the other cars pitted the next lap. I was able to get the undercut and pass them all in the pits. An uneventful drive to the win from there. Final ticket obtained.

Challenges completed for this week (pleasingly all on hard difficulty, with 1st places), very enjoyable they were too!
Race 1 - Initially attempted in the Citroen DS but couldn’t catch the Porsche 356. Switched the the Toyota Sports 800, and the race was configured with the 356 absent, making it a dash to the front with the Alfa Giulia ‘67. Managed to squeeze by on the last lap and hold on to the line.
Race 2 - Opted for the Escort RS Cosworth. Passed the Viper on the home stretch. I do enjoy competing in these races in a European, sorry, American compact! 😜
Race 3 - Ran this first with RS tyres on the 288 GTO, but it was just too easy, in 1st before lap 3. Re-ran on SS tyres, which was far more fun.
Race 4 - I’m never sure how much tuning PD will do for these One-Make races. I opted to lightly tune my 205 with the sort of Sports mods we would have done when these were one of the cars to have in the 90’s. Sports pads, filter, silencer, suspension, and tyres, high lift cams and pistons. Turns out even a light tune was more than enough to win comfortably.
Race 5 - With the addition of the 205 GTI to GT7 this week, this Group B race had to be done with the 205 T16. Took a couple of attempts, and some suspension tuning to get it round. Running on RM’s, I reached 1st on lap 5 with a splash and dash for 3/4s of a tank and no tyres on lap 6, I finished lap 7 20 seconds ahead of the Quattro in 2nd, and cruised home.

My weeklies vehicle roster this week are as follows (and as always I play the weeklies with hard AI and first place finishes, all the while in PSVR2)

1. A highly modified unimog on CS tyres - I was just about able to win on my 2nd attempt after the first attempt failed due to the grid leading with the bloody Porsche, 2nd time around it was stuck behind the ai unimog....which I NEARLY LAPPED BY THE RACE END.
2. Aero modified ford GT on sports hard tyres - this car was basically stock aside from the added aero bits, did have to reduce front aero to get it under PP but it was a shockingly decent drive! Accidentally got a clean race bonus here too.
3. 700pp low turbo build BMW Z4 on SS tyres - absolutely LOVE THIS THING, was so glad when it was added and even happier when it didn't have the roof but did have a full diffuser option, drives remarkably quickly too and absolutely a car I will use again for these challenges.
4. Lightly modified NA build 205 GTi on CM tyres - well before I even started with the attempts I quickly checked what tyres the ai were using and noticed 2 things - stock tyres, and not stock exhausts, so I did some slight modifications on my own 205, it's an alright car, not the first Peugeot I would've liked to see be added after so long without any, but it works for the game. Race wasn't too bad, my first stock attempt was 3rd place, but 2nd place with the light upgrades immediately made a difference.
5. Completely stock Mustang GrB with a custom suspension setup to reduce body roll on RH tyres - okay this was one I definitely was worried about, but after the run of pit stops, spotting the leader pit on lap 6 I decided to follow having run the race on fuel map 5 for most of it, turned out to be a fantastic call since the fuel lasted the whole race with the pit stop only being needed for tyres! Great car to drive too, but probably won't replace my favourite NSX GrB.

This week's events were uneventful...

The final race posed the only challenge, still managed to do it on a non-stop strategy with RH and FM5 and 4 with the Honda NSX. Racing transmission to bring the gearing down, FL was a 1.58. Won by 40 odd seconds in the end.

Just rattled these off in about an hour, total 800K credits all up for doing them. Only one remotely difficult was the Pug at Alsace but I ran it bog stock. Won the Trial Mountain thing by 1 mIn and 30 seconds, RH no-stopper. The NSW has insane grip.

Took the Alfa Giula for a spin in the first race, what a delightful car to drive, spectacular. I miss mine.
