Gt5 need custom paint jobs?

hi , this is my first thread

I was thinking in the mode where you can customize the cars with custom paint jobs in forza and i think that is a very attractive aspect or like the facebook game cartown that you can create your own template. it would be very attractive to have this aspect in gt5 ,I am not satisfied with the limitations about customizing cars only by changing paint

What do you think?

That would be great to have your own unique cars, I would spend hours customizing my cars but it will never happen in gt5, wish it would tho

Needs? No
Would be cool? Yes
Should be implemented before addressing any number of the other complaints? No
Would maybe have been a more welcome feature than B-spec? IMO Yes
Likely to happen in GT5? No

To be honest when the game was being developed you would hear people say how it would be a cool feature like in Forza and NFS and I always dismissed it thinking it was chavvy but this was based on having played GT4 strictly offline. With the online mode of GT5 it makes total sense. Having your own livery for your own or even teams custom cars. The drift side of it just doesn't feel right without the flex factor as well.

I accidentally customized a car!

1966 Shelby GT-350R

I went to paint it a deep royal blue and ended up using the paint chip from the GSX-R/4 so my Shelby ended up two-tone with black sides and royal blue top surfaces.

LOVE IT!

experiment with your paint chips for cars that are two-tone.
granted, it's $2500 to paint, but when you can pay $7500 for a set of
sport tires, what's a third of that for the look you want?

It appears that you gave Forza Motorsport credit for a nifty feature that is missing in Gran Turismo. This is a lynchable offense here. GT communities typically pretend that if GT is missing a feature that's in rival games, it's not only something undesirable but even something that we're better off without.

There is other issues i would like them to address first, but i agree it would be fantastic to do some customized paint jobs like in Forza. It is really missing from the game.

If I wanted pain jobs like on offer in Forza, I would have bought Forza.

So no, no need for custom paint jobs here. I like the decadence to have my Fiat Panda painted in Rosso Corsa. That's true decandence!

From your comment i gather that you do not own an Xbox and Forza 3? Because if you owned Forza 3, I know that you'd want that feature in GT5. It opens up so many oppotunites. If this game had the custom paint jobs and an auction house it would be great. I remember i needed an extra 40k in F3 and i couldn't be bothered doing half an hour of racing. So i grabbed my Fiat 500 Abbarth, painted it red, and put the scuderia strippes on it to make it look like the fiat 500 ferrari thing and it sold almost straight away.

It could also open up oppotunities in photomode with people designing there own cool paint jobs.

Sadly the chances of it being implemented is very slim.

I REALLY miss custom decals. I think it will probably only be a premium car feature though if it ever does appear.

I'd love to do my mk1 up though.

I have to say I would love to be able to customise my cars to a stupid degree. Modified cars are a huge part of the car scene in real life, and many people who enjoy driving, such as myself, like to modify their cars to truly make it their own ... I have a modifed car, and if you saw mine you wouldn't scream chav, yes some would turn out looking that way, but they are our fictional cars to do with as we fictionally please :)

Being able to be creative by painting our own cars in many different styles is a great idea and it should be included, maybe not in GT5 but definately in GT6!

I'm familiar with the whole painting thingy from FM2, which I played quite frequently.

I just happen to think it adds nothing to the driving/racing experience (apart from RL liveries, I give you that) so, to answer the question given in the OP: no, GT5 needs no custom paintjobs. I'm happy buying a Ferrari or a Lambo just to get the paintchip and paint a cheap car with it. Job done.

If I want painting cars, Forza is about the only franchise (on a console) that went to such lengths. And I can see why, because it's part of their online community fake economy approach.

GT5 hasn't that (auction house) so what's the point?

Jiss!! FORGET forza, forget driving experience, yes we need custom paints, at least number plates.

For "those", i bet if gran turismo (1 or 2 or 5) come with custom paint, all blind fanboys claim "yess, custom paints are great"

ps:embarrassed:hh, and stop with GT is that GT is those, its a game simply period.

Oh so then lets just drop the driving part of the game for the GT6? I mean, you could just buy Forza if you want to drive a car. Lets just waste everything, because frankly, if you want to put a disc in your PS3 why buy a game? why not an empty CD instead?
That is a ridiculous argument. It is not everyone who has a Xbox and a ps3 at their disposal, so you can't "just" buy the other game.
Also, try to say to any just mildly successful businessman and tell him your idea of leaving out content that don't reduce the quality or the purpose of the rest of the product because if the customer wanted that they could just buy another equivalent product from the main rival. You would be broke very very quickly.

I'd like some minor decals and stuff. I don't think GT5 NEEDS it and I've played very little of Forza, but I think it's a very nice feature. I mean, we can choose new rims for a decade now and I quite like the paint thingy, also there's the Racing Modification that were absent in GT4 and came back but in such little number of cars... :(

I mean, sure, if there was a custom paint job, some Hello Kitty Ferraris would show up and all, but I don't think that's what matters. If you guys checked for a minute the absurd number of F1 and other racing cars our friends at Modnation Racers are reproducing in amazing detail, in FREAKIN' MODNATION RACERS GODDAMIT, you'd understand. It's a nice feature, overall, and if it's possible to have it in GT6, I'd like to.

I think it's such a shame, they left this out. It would be so much fun making up designs on cars. I think it's a bit weird that people don't want a good feature in the game, that would give you something else to do besides just driving, it makes no sense. If you don't like it don't use it:idea:

No thank you, let's stick to driving.

Yeah, come on let's stick to driving. Screw these high res ultra realistic looking cars and tracks. I'll stick with my copy of GT1 because frankly I'm more concerned with the "driving" aspect of the game and I could care less what cars they put in the game and how they look. Heck, give me a 90's Honda civic and I'm set for the rest of the game, who cares how it looks? It handles well.

And actually, you know what? This whole sound thing can go away too. Turn off the sound and just drive. What the game sounds like could matter less, lets just focus on the "driving" part of it. Might as well play in black and white too, who needs color?

While we're on this topic I just wanna say that we don't need ANY customization AT ALL. I say out with the paint jobs, out with the aftermarket parts, out with the different tires, out with everything. Out with the menu as well, for that matter. Just give me a game that I put in and just "drive", nothing else. None of these fancy shmancy extra things that no one needs.

And let's get rid of the disc too! The disc has nothing to do with driving, it's just another thing in my way preventing me from just "driving".

And why am I still eating, drinking, and breathing? Let's just focus on the "driving". Come on guys.

It's quite simple really. There's far too many people out there with zero taste, who will create cars so butt ugly that you'll want to cut out your own eyes from looking at them. Vinyls and the like, needs to stay in the arcade genre.

Why are others trying to turn Gran Turismo into a Forza? Forza this Forza that STOP IT ALREADY! Why must there always be something about what Gran Turismo needs or could learn from Forza, so annoying now to be honest. :grumpy:
