Maybe if you people actualy come into the chat maybe we can keep from dieing..... because ever since the chat ive always had fun, from simple drag racing to drifting to all out competitive racing....

No Mercy has kept me busy. Also getting ready for my GTP race has also been taking up my time.To me, it is not dead and will never die.

I've also felt for a while that the only thing that is going to keep Prologue fresh is some new tracks. I'm not talking about getting the Nurburgring, just anything really.

Even if we get private rooms, it will still continue to get stale racing the same 6 tracks.

I took a few week off from GT5p, but now I'm back I'm already starting to get bored of Suzuka and Fuji again. When was there last an Expert London race? That would keep me interested for another couple of weeks, but really I want a new track to play. Cars I can take or leave, there are enough in the game for me as it is. Daytona sucks, HSR is dull, Polyphony seem to think London is only for noobs and Suzuka and Fuji have been done to death. There still seem to be plenty of PAL people playing though, it's only after midnight that I start to see tiny grids. I had a good few races at Suzuka with 8-12 players this evening.

I'll go back to playing Bioshock soon, it's absolutely awesome.

being in NZ its difficult to get on a a suitable time where there are other from this forum racing. early morning doesn't suit me, unless i've been up all night (and then my driving is crap!). With summer coming round there is less excuse to be inside driving when the suns warming up, and after a few races and I'm dripping with sweat !. Plus getting busy here with various projects around the house. As GT5P is all I play on PS3 , i will certainly be hanging around longterm tho. The 600pp at Suzuka is bringing some players back. more events like that will keep interest high, for me at least.

The International race was what's kept me competing for so long, and I'll be drifting away soon if it isn't reinstated. I'm still using the NTSC-Japan version of Prologue, so the only way I get to race in No Mercy(or at all) is if I get up at 5am to catch the late-night wave of Japanese players.

6 tracks wouldn't be all that bad - if we could actually use them all.
London is just too small to fit enough people in a race, its impossible to do a proper pass on the Eiger, and the Hi-speed Ring and Daytona are too large and slow for passenger cars.
Fuji is a Hermann Tilke track with lots of large-radius off-camber corners - very tediously difficult and boring, especially if you're not an expert driver.
Suzuka is obviously sweet, but stands alone as the only proper track for online racing.

If I were to pick 2 tracks to revive online races, they'd be Trial Mountain (👍), and the extended Eiger(:tup:x infinity).

I haven't even updated to Spec III yet lol.
GT5:P hasn't been touched in a couple of months.

I'm busy with Midnight Club, and FIFA 09 soon.

Im afraid Prologue has been dying for the past few months and since the disappointing update it has finally passed away.

PD made a big mistake by only introducing 3 new cars and if Kaz took more notice of other racing games he would of realised many wanted private rooms instead of 3 new cars. Having 3 new cars only extended the gameplay for about a week whereas private rooms would of increased the lifespan of prologue by months!

Im personally have a welcome long break from prologue and probably won't return until the content has been improved. I shall be enjoying Gears of War 2, COD W@W, and into next year I shall be waiting for Killzone 2, Racepro. There is nothing in prologue that will entice me to return as it currently is, especially considering the games I have mentioned.

Yes, there will be alot of people going to try other games.I ,for one, have a few that need to be finished. But using a "chat" to get together with other drivers has help keep this alive.Try one, there is a great one here at GTPlanet,or you could find a voice chat via your computer to get together with drivers. It's almost like having a private room.Sure you can't control the setup for a race, but if 10 to 12 of you jump into a race at the same time, the chance of a outsider is very slim and you can have a nice clean race.👍

Thanks for everyone's thoughtful input.👍 I guess my garage keeps me around.👍 I wish I would get off my butt and finish GTAIV but I can't pull myself away from racing.

I still havent finished GTA 4 as well.... got about halfway and then it sort of got monotonous.... driving here, then there, then here... mission here....

Agree 👍
I've still got a long way to go in GTAIV but i always come back to GTP5.
Although the content is starting to wear thin i'm sure it's my love of cars in general that keeps bringing me back..

My whole life is cars, so I'll never be able to stop playing Gran Turismo entirely for any extended period of time.;)

I bought PS3 only because GT and thats how it's going to be. I have no interest of any other games, than racing-sims, and so long than I can find good competition I aint going anywhere.

I hope that this slow improvement of GT5, will frustrate most of those drivers, who I dont wanna see on track anyway. (read:kids, morons, punters etc etc...)

Ofcourse I would like to see even few good tracks more, but it will suck back some worse part of GT5P-owners too. I rather race with 3-5 good racer, than full-grid with tourists.

More than privaterooms, I would like to see example 20-30 laps races with tyrewear and fuel-tactics. I also wanted to have somekind of 'extreme-lisence', what you could not download anyhow, and to earn it, you should do very very hard tests. Ofcourse those extreme-events should be extreme-simulation of racing too.

Amen, some of the punters have given up on GT5:P now. This is good, because we won't have to put up with them at all in the full GT5. That's right, no one will ever punt my beautiful Holdens.

I like the idea of a harder license test for 'extreme' online races. I'd like to see long races with tyre wear too, but I can only see it happening with private rooms. I just don't think there will be enough people wanting to start a 30-60 minute race all at the same time without some planning.

Thats true... PD could do schedule like 00-15-30-45, and then those extreme-races would start if there is like minimum 5 driver already in.

PD should go to check different Poker-sites, and see how tournaments and sit'n'go things are handled... and then create their own what fits to this game.

It's not dying off for me. I bought my ps3 just for gt. I had a ps2 for years and never used it, until i tried a driving game on my brothers xbox about 9 months ago. The day after i went and bought a wheel and a copy of gt4 and have never looked back. I agree that we need more tracks and private rooms etc, but it won't stop me playing the game as it is at the moment. I have been tempted to try other sims, lfs, ferrari challenge etc, but not managed to drag myself away from gt5 yet.

Same here only got the PS3 for GT5P, still a cracking game for a prologue in my opinion. I did buy COD4 & really like that particularly for the private rooms & being able to blast your mates. Private rooms would invigorate GTP5P in my opinion. Reckon i will be going on extended leave from the game once COD WAW comes out. Gone back to COD 4 to get some pre release target practise in.

I haven't been able to find someone to race all day, and it's Saturday.:(

lilltle things counts, would love to see if we can have some stand still starts at SUZUKA or FUJI, or just bring the GT4 LAS VEGAS drag strip back to put these punters away

The current 650pp No Mercy at Suzuka is from a standing start.

Hi Paulie.
I live across the ditch from you so our race times would be pretty close. Have found the same problem with not much competition at the moment.
In this part of the world we are swinging into summer which makes it harder to justifying sitting inside driving while it's blue sky outside...but night time i'm always online.

For me this game is still fresh....if people are getting bored it's not the games fault...every race / corner / braking point is different from the next.....there is always room for improvement.
What I notice with my children is that once they have played a game afew times they are looking for the next "buzz"...this is a product of the 21st century tech bubble.

This game is so good that it will keep us older fella's, who know the difference entertained
for a long time.
NZ out.

We need a world event with No Mercy rules at Daytona Road, 650pp.On the weekend I spend upto 14 hrs online.(not all the time):)

Hi joeninety, I don't know how bad it gets in NZ but here in QLD Summer is when you stay inside, Winter is for outdoors.;) It's too hot to do anything outside in Summer, but Winter is fine.:)
I agree, GT5 will keep us folks entertained for a long long time. Even if I will never be as fast as others.

I was gonna have a drive last night but as paulie said, no one appeared to be around so i didn't bother. Seems like every week a few more people stop playing. And having no pro international events doesn't help either.

I wanted to do a couple of races last night as well. Before I install my playseat, I was reading some threats here. And notice there weren’t a lot of people posting comments. So I had the feeling there weren’t a lot of GTP-ers online. So I didn’t come online. My feeling didn’t let me down.

You are right about that one. For last couple of weeks I’ve got the same experience. If there isn’t a lot of competition online. I go racing offline and try to turn some of the bronze and silver into golds. I’m coming close to all golds. What then?

Dont worry fellows with Christmas just around the corner just think of all the 15 year old punters that will get a PS3 GT5P pack under the tree,& we will have all that to look foward to.

Yay!! I can't wait to show them their GTR can't beat my Alfa Romeo 147. Driver skill.;) Seems every race we enter in 600 PP No Mercy there's a few 650 PP guys that can't keep in front of us, and they even get that 20sec head start!
