GT5:P Dying Off?

I think Hyperuk's Evora Cup and T&L's Bond theme was the last time there was fun to be had racing online.
As for the corner cutters, maybe it is because those tracks offer that chance for the "numpties". Apart from the above events i think the last time people really liked what was on offer, was 600PP Suzuka, you could even race those nights and bump into the cream of GTPlanet as well as those well known names from other European countries

You should try Mr_volcano's rx7 cup monday evenings. Last week it was great clean racing with big grids. But maybe a rest from the game is whats in order, would be good to see online again though. Fingers crossed for the event update on xmas day.

In the past 8months the progress they have made is a joke

To Prologue, I agree, but they're not going to implement everything they have developed so far in to Prologue.

I have a horrible feeling that we have misunderstood (or been mislead?) the amount of features and content Prologue will receive via updates. I'm really struggling to see what more PD will add to the game, given the recent interview with Super Fla and the amount we have received so far. The up-side is that they have surprised us in the past so you never know with PD.

A game which in essence is a demo! has given us hours of fun through the past months, I highly doubt any game demo in the past or the future can achieve that in my books.

I believe the GT5P has achieved what it was set out to do for me and that was to give me a taste of what GT5 is going to be like. I cant wait :D

When I first started playing GT5:P I was hooked. I bought the JPN version AND the US version. I neglected all other games just to play this.

Then GTA 4 came out and it broke my GT5:P addiction and I was never the same again.

I don't think there is anything wrong with GT5. It's just a game. You buy a game play it for a while and then you move on. That's normal. Most games usually release new versions like Madden series.

I played LFS obsessively but then stopped. I played Test Drive Unlimited obsessively and then stopped. It's normal.

GT5's release plan is awful. It's taking way too long to release. How long will it take for the next version?

And the age of no damage is coming to an end. People want games to DO MORE than the previous generation.

I injoy playing GT5P still, but not much these days, not enough decent update. So i have been playing ferrari challenge witch has been getting popular lately. So i recommend you guys try playing FC untill we all get our greedy little hand's on the full version GT5

Its dead to me, the game is useless because of the constant frustration I get when I play. I don't play video games to be pissed off when I race. Until things change GT5P is dead to me.

Thanks for you time.

I've haven't played GT5P for a while. Played midnight club la / grid / ferrari challenge, hell yes, I even escorted mister Drake in his quest, but...

something keeps attracting me to gran turismo. Popped in the disc and started playing. Just cruising arround the tracks or almost being crushed to pieces with a slow car in a fast event. ;) GT5p became fun again to me. I remember the times with the little suzukis on Suzuka and the PP500 races which made racing so much fun! That's what brought me back! Hopefully the events change for the positiv! Events that bring fresh air in to Prologue.

I like door to door racing!

Welcome back Gran Turismo 5 Prologue 👍

together with the tuners, dedicated racers, members on GTPLANET and GTRP it's a great community :)

As for promises, maybe that was the wrong word but they sure as hell said BIG fall update lol, way back when I had my ps2 all the talk was a ps3 is coming and to show just how sweet it is gt5 will be released alongside it to show case the new levels of detail, ps3 must be 2years old now and still no gt5, I can understand PD wants the perfect game with all of sony's features but thats what updates can be used for to implement the lastest sony updates because from what I understand the ps3 is always expanding, it is getting to the point where PD are now getting a bad name, they are losing followers of the series, sure they will come back but they will expect perfection and I for one no it is not possible, I really hope home was the reason for no private lobbies and now they can move faster in that area.

Id be surprised if the game was radically different from what we see now.. Yes a greater number of cars available.. and while they will definately have more tracks, you can't expect every track to be race-able online all at once.. I have my doubts that there would be enough people online at any one stage to have reasonably full grids for all tracks.

So following the history of the game so far with fortnightly change of track and race conditions, you should expect this to continue into the full game.

From reading the posts in this thread a lot of people wont like this.. to be honest I re-downloaded the grid demo the other day, and while the physics isnt where GT5 is, it was different, and it was fun in a different way to GT5.

I still throw in the GT5 disc and go do a few laps or a few races but its harder and harder to find a race with any more than 4 people in it which is a sign of things.

With no major changes in the next 3 months Id expect it to be almost impossible to find a "non scheduled" race at random times of the day.

Now i am a huge GT Fan . My dads mate gave ma a ps1 with gt1 , and thats when i got hooked . i have had every GT since , and loved them .But tbh gt5p is dying off a wee bit now. I just want a few more tracks like 2 and lets say 10 extra cars and proper match making options then i will be hooked for another 4months lol Come PD

Well said my friend. Honestly I just bought GT4, and I think that game is much funner to play. Prologue is dead. We need the full game to rejuvenate interest in the series. I honestly don't believe its going to take them until 2010 to launch the fill version, that is ridiculous, they should be about to have a competent racing sim game before 2009 is over.

If we can configure our own servers with a track rotation, and browse the list of servers, that would work fine. You either join a suitable server that has been created by someone else or create one yourself and wait for people to join or invite friends. I don't see the problem with such a system.

I don't imagine they'll have an online race event for say 50 different circuits, each with their own configurations / restrictions. If that what the case, some events would be pretty vacant.

I thought GT5P was dead until I started racing at Daytona 600pp this week. Plenty of people race in that event.

Check out the gt5 forum. There is reports that you can pre order the game for delivery in april 09.

And a lot of websites have GT5 as one of the top exclusive games of 2009.

I see, well perhaps the level of pessimism will go down now. I did read that thread and I thought it was just another unconfirmed rumor.

:grumpy: Hard Evidence

Well PD is part of sony and someone from SCEE said GT5 will be out for christmas 2009 for the EU so its a bit more than a rumor. So that pretty much confrims GT5 will be out in 2009, atleast in japan anyway.

A good conversation about cars will always spark up my interest in Gt5:P. I must admit that after the last update i haven't touched online mode, but i have been racing my ghost's across all tracks and perfecting my use of the 599. Gt5 still is great but with so many very very good games out, it's very hard to keep interest as much as before. I sure do hope we get some update, maybe a new track or one of those new 370z's.

US, UK and Australian release dates all differed, no doubt.

UK (PAL) and Australia (PAL) were have have always been the same (maybe a day difference at most because of the timezones).

I was thinking the same thing,i just don't want microsoft touch my hard earned money.

Dont bother Forza 2 is dieing quicker than GT5P and with forza 3 not even announced yet its going to die very quickly.

They got GT4 before us.

Thats right:dunce: We usually get screwed over and end up last in line for almost everything :grumpy: easy to see why though, down here on our own & miles from anyone and a tiny population(market) = no priority("we`ll get to you when we`re done with everyone else & slug you a for a few extra dollars aswell") :grumpy:
