GT5 Penalty System - Outrageous!

I've been doing plenty of races on GT5P now, and I'm getting fed up of being wrongly penalised again and again... And again.

A few examples are;

-Getting rammed into a barrier, then getting a barrier impact penalty, the rammer gets away with NO penalty what so ever...

-Going round somebody on the outside of the bend when they swerve into you, only to find that you have a ramming penalty...

...and PLENTY more.

I really hope they sort this out before GT5 comes out.

While what you say is correct, this has been discussed many times before. The Penalty system does indeed need a lot of work and the rammers suck.

Welcome to GTPlanet! What you say is true and bothers a lot of poeple but has been discussed many time before.... Like ASH said already... The Search function will help you find threads like this in the future 👍 :D

All that can be said regarding that matter is that there is NO WAY ON EARTH that any kind of 100% - or even 50% - failure-proof penalty system can be programmed.

Too much variables is going on in real-time and there is no way you can make a code that could make a real-time decision about who is guilty in situation like this:

Suzuka Last Chicane
3 cars approacking after the Backstraight
1st nd 2nd car brake on time
2nd car changes the line to avoid collision with 1st and mantain entry point
3rd car late brake for the chicane
bumps into 2nd car
2nd car looses grip and catches the end of the 1st car
1st car undeliberatly cuts the chicane
here comes the 4th car
3rd car gets just 1.2 sec slowdown penalty and becomes transparent
2nd car is in the tyres
1st car gets 4 sec slowdown penalty while trying to get out of sandtrap (transparent)
4th car brakes too late
3rd car just got back from penalty and becomes "normal"
4th car bumps into 3rd car and gets a 3 sec transparent penalty
both cars slam into 2nd car that didn't get nay penalty so far
2nd car cuts the chicane (4 sec penalty and transparent)
1st car becomes normal in the very second that 2nd car crashes into it
1st car slams into fence and gets another penalty..

...and so on, and so on.

No solution, except to have no penalties. But then we're again in March 2008.

Damage is the answer then?

We already have this being discussed in other threads.
