lol This BB will be known in the GT5 world where we first saw extreme damage! haha I couldn't help but drop my jaw playing such a short demo. It's hard to hide that kind of excitement.

It seems that way because only Asana and ME have seen this type of damage so far! and we got pictures to back it up! 💡 we should team up (Asana) and go there at the same time so one can play and the other capture video! haha, and I agree that bestbuy demo in chicago is pretty awesome! (I only live like 3 mins away from that best Buy) 👍

Hey, I was there too!
Most likely heading out to crystal lake BB in an hour or so to see what's up.

Just got back from Best Buy...they had Modnation Racers playing so I quit to the dashboard and there it was!

Hmm...I should try that. Where exactly did you find the demo listed? I'm assuming under the normal game section of the XMB.

Best Buy in Daytona Beach FL.

No pictures, also no signs promoting it, but its in the list of games on their PS3. Played it Friday night, also this demo had no damage in it. Though I will say, I only drove the Sprint Cup car, not that I think it matters, but it may.

I was hitting up Fry's Electronics today for a flash drive and saw the PS3 demo setup. I quit out of MLB the Show, and low and behold... GT5 2010 Demo!
I tried the Citroen GT on the Nordschleife, and Jeff Gordon's NASCAR car in Rome (just for the pure absurdity of it all lol)

I believe that each single race allows 2 minutes of racing before quitting to the menu. I know.. I don't have a pic. I never thought to take a pic, so you'd have to go off my word.

If you live on the south end of Houston, or in Webster/Clear Lake/NASA area you should check it out. I can promise you it is on the PS3 between the 360 and the Wii playing Metroid.

I would like to confirm this. Just came back from the frys. Here's a few pics of a damaged NASCAR on the nurburgring driven by me lol

2:16 What's up with the tachometer needle after the gear change? It bounces back and forth a few times as if it was made of elastic material. In other gear changes it remains stable. Weird!

The Best Buy in Oakdale, MN DOES NOT have the demo.

The Best Buy in Inver Grove Heights, MN DOES have the demo. Enjoy! Videos and pictures taken with iPhone 3GS.

Were there selectable cars that in real life have an automatic gearbox ("slushbox")? In case yes, have you tried to see if when you select AT, the transmission behaves like a real automatic/like on Enthusia or simply changes gear at redline?

I believe every car i drove (all but 2 of them i think) in the demo shifted on the redline.

Actually, i think one car automatically shifted BEYOND the red consistently xD

instead of 8000rpm it was shifting at like 8200 xD

Maybe GT5 models transmissions properly now with engine/transmission/wheel slippage and warble!

Ok, I see. Thanks for checking. From another video it doesn't seem there were cars which in real life would have had automatic gearboxes though.

By the way, actually for many cars going that far is counterproductive (Suzuki Cappuccino for example. Best performance on a stock engine is achieved by changing gear way below redline).

Still hoping for proper automatic transmission modeling in the final version.
On Enthusia (I don't know if you've played it, it's a PS2 game) it was really good (but auto gearboxes seemed like they were stuck in Sport mode, so it was very hard to keep them at low rpm when the fully automatic transmission selection was chosen... not really something that would matter while actually racing however).

Maybe, but it's more a matter of shifting logic.
On automatic transmissions AT should simulate the "automatic"/drive mode in my opinion.
In GT it's always been some the equivalent kind of computer assisted shifting in manual or semimanual mode instead.

On Enthusia (sorry for mentioning it once again, but it's the only game it got it right) the MT/AT choice was different depending on the car transmission.
Manual transmissions had "assisted manual mode" / "manual mode" ... Assisted manual being like the GT AT mode
Automatic transmissions had "automatic" / "semi-automatic" ... "automatic" working like the Drive mode in real automatic transmissions (stuck in the Sport program)

Well you do see the virtual driver shifting in the game. So it's a manual, that has GT5 is shifting for you instead

The Mercedes there has got paddle shifters, which means that it's most probably got a semi-manual transmission with a Drive (automatic) mode in real life. Again, it's really nothing that should matter while racing, but I hope there will be some way to use the transmission Drive/auto mode when available. It adds to realism, would be cool when driving cars just for the sake of it, cruising around existing tracks (I did that often in GT4).

And with the "random" Course maker you'll be doing that more often :D

The Stingray sounds like a hairdryer.
I assume it doesn't sound like that in real life?

For about the 1st minute, the audio was muffled due to electronic interference (curse those parents talking on their cell phones >.>)

last minute is how it sounds like....a louder hairdryer lol

ah that good ol gran turismo music <3

i hope there's alot of it in the game, like twice the amount in gran turismo 4

has anyone else noticed the AI is epic! i actualy thought he had switched to ai cars for a second XD

How come no one is trying out rollover damage? I would be on it in the first minute. How about going backwards and hitting AI car? Comon! be creative with damage! also SHOW MORE.. you only look back for few seconds with camera zoomed out..
