MY TURN TO PLAY THE DEMO
Demo Screen:
http://img163.imageshack.us/img163/3232/dsc03128.jpg
I asked the department sales man, and he told me that the Sony Vendor came to load the game, it was not given to any of the store employee to do it. (So my guess is that the Sony employee or Demo Vendor would be the sole person to have such demo in his/her hand, and if (s)he really wanted to, they could load it at their own house or that of their family and friends...)
After the game loads, you are welcomed to this screen:

Only the "Arcade" mode is accessible on this demo... everything else is locked (photo mode, my "room", online race, GT TV, options, GT news, Replay, Guide)
Next in the Arcade Menu: you can choose your level:

I went difficult right away... didnt try Medium or easy, not challenging
enough (i would guess).
Once the level of difficulty chosen: you are brought to the screen to choose:
Race, Time Trial, or 3 other options (which are blocked).
Next: you have 5 tracks to choose from (all available in Race or TT)

Then you choose your car...

... and this is all the cars available.

sorry for the bad driving, that was my very first time with GT5 demo
driving the 458 (on N1 tires) through the Ss of the Green Hell
Sorry for the noise background... there was a FPS game demo nearby, and kids playing loud.
3154:
458 Italia (R3) in Green Hell (replay view from external cameras):

You can see on the very first corner, as i was not used to the R3 yet (having just switch from one extreme N1 to the other R3) i over anticipate the need to turn... i turned before i really needed to. (With the N1 tires, you had to turn before the turn in order to make it, as things kinda slide a bit more than using R3)
There is a spin out and big crash after 1'22.
3155:
458 Italia (R3) in Green Hell (same replay but view from Chase cam)
The same spin out and big crash after the 1 minute mark.

Dont mind the "black screen" at 1'10 (the sun was setting
)... i manage to complete the whole tocana track right under 2 minutes.

AI in difficult Mode are definitively much more agressive than in other previous GT games...
... during this run, i got sandwiched between a Citroen GT, and a 458, and they wouldn't let me go...
they dont back down! But nothing will replace a real player/opponent.
OVERALL impression:
At first, it seem a tad harder and slippery than GT5-TT, but then i realize i was driving the 458 with N1 tires... once switched to R3s, the Green Hell seemed to be a bit more manageable... although you probably have to go through a small learning curve...
I now understand why so many people had such difficulty playing this game during this summer's several conventions and gathering!!! You can easily (VERY) easily lose grip and tractions when using those overpowered light cars, especially if you are a journalist or young aged player with no experience with GT, and to make matters worse, if you drive with N1 tires.
I have been playing GT since the second edition, and yet it took me a few laps to get to know the behavior of this physics...
It feels like you are on ice! (as opposed to "It feels like you are on fake rubbers" in FM3)
playing with the pad:
I found playing with the D-pad easier than the joystick! It's very lose and very easy to lose control of the car, especially the 458 on the Green Hell, if you have 1/4 of one of the tire on the grass, you can say adios! and viva the spin out!
Playing with the Chase cam view:
Seem pretty similar to GT5-P, maybe a tad more loose, but not much...
Closer to GT5-P than GT3.
Graphics:
It didnt looks so good playing on a 30 inch? tv... this game is definitely meant to be played on a large >46inch tv... the bigger the better...
I cant wait to have it on my 50in plasma.
(those of you with small screen, save your money to buy a large TV 💡 👍 )
Sounds:
couldn't say much as it was on a small screen and with a noise in-store background... but it looks that typical of GT games...
The Citroen GT seem to have gained combustion engine sound, as opposed to the all electric wooossshhhhh from in GT5-P ...
Seems like there will be more stores to benefit from the demos, Sony is trying to put GT5, PS3, and Sony flat screens on every kids' wish lists for the upcoming holiday season...
EDIT: Apparently the PS3 and the remote control there are in pretty bad shape now... Cannot play the Demo due to technical hardware problems.
