GT5 Tracks

Would there be any way to include the Mile Miglia in the game? I would suppose that 1000 miles of course would be hard to render in the game, but maybe if they broke it up into 100mile sections, that would be awesome. Although the race isnt nearly as popular as what it once was, it would be great to blast down the route in a Aston Martin DB9 or a Mercedes Benz SLR just for the hell of it.

How about another classic endurance race, the Targa Florio?

...If there is to be atleast one more American track to be included, it would have to be either Watkins Glenn or Daytona. Both are important historically to American and international racing, and although Daytona owe's much of it's success to NASCAR, the Glenn is just automotive bliss.

-> I'd like to add some of the track I would like to suggest to be on GT5, its not as much compared to the car list I've been currently doing lately:

- Yamaha's Autopolis Short
- Yamaha's Autopolis Long
- Barber Motorsports Park
- Togue Drift Track
- Mount Panorama Circuit
- Grindelwald (GT2)
- Special Stage R11 ver.1 (GT1)
- Pike's Peak Hill Climb Rally Course (GT2)
- Pike's Peak Raceway
- Special Stage R11 ver.2 (GT3)
- Red Rock Vally Speedway (GT2)
- Motorsports Land (GT2)
- Rome Circuit (GT3)
- Rome Short Circuit (GT2)
- Seattle Short Circuit (GT2)
- Long Beach International Raceway
- Spring Mountain Raceway
- Tahiti Circuit (GT2)

^ Well thats it I guess. (:

In talking about tracks, Super GT/JGTC races some tough courses in Japan. Look at Suzuka, Motegi, and Fuji (post-Herman Tilke). Thing is, do you think every track Super GT races should be in GT5?

I remembered from 2003 or 2004 when one racer described Autopolis as a Japanese Nurburgring. From what I've seen, it was a very twisted race course. Here is the configuration to Autopolis, courtesy of e-Tracks: ( http://www.etracksonline.co.uk/Asia/autopolis.html ). As the story goes, Autopolis was told to be the site of a prospective Formula One GP of Japan venue. It was also supposed to be like a playground for the rich. It's the only round of the Super GT Series on the Japanese island of Kyushu. The track is built like a Formula One course, but with some bankruptcy problems, the course has a lot of its facilities boarded up. To be honest, this is a nice proving ground for any racer. It's under 3 miles long, and as much as Tilke wanted to mess up Fuji, I think Autopolis would have been a better pick for a Japanese F1 venue. You know, give the Autopolis Circuit the thing they wanted to host for more than a decade.

Japan does have some nice tracks. To see other courses from the site I provided, visit: ( http://www.etracksonline.co.uk/Asia/japan.html ). Watching G4TV's "Formula D," Ebisu is told to be a tough drift course to master, especially the south course. So for some drifting action, it would be interesting to see if we can master drifting Ebisu South Course.

By the way, I know Melbourne has a street course. I was thinking more along the lines of another race in Melbourne, not Albert Park. Yeah, seperate courses... much like GT's Tokyo R246 and Forza's Tokyo course. Well, carry on discussion.

i want to see a huge location with nothing in it just make it big and flat and with asphalt. a place where you can have fun...like that gykhamaya thing, only bigger, with no cones and with replay support.

Since GT4 featured an old version of Fuji, do you think they should look back in time with Riverside? If they did this, it would be pretty hard, because what was the Riverside road course is now covered up by offices and homes and such.

Would you want to see Riverside return from the dead and be in GT5? If so, do you think Riverside would be possible?

Messiah
Pikes Peak - only this time all of it, if PD can squeeze Nordschliefe in then PP should be do-able...
Finally someone else remembers GT2. This was a great track to run in the Escudo (which was butchered in GT3 and GT4)

Well, the Escudo was butchered because it was really intended for hillclimbing. Still, didn't stop us from giving it Racing Mediums and killer top speeds. And if they do include all of Pikes Peak (the hill climb course, not the oval), then it would be a pretty nice accomplishment. I'll also bet you my GT4 winnings that this track will be one of the biggest online race courses in GT5, because longer sells apparentely.

Some of these would be nice...

No, Bahrain runs F1.

Dubai runs races for A1 GP and FIA GT.

That Bahrain course is more like a jewel in the desert. I know of only two well-known Middle East courses, Bahrain and that circuit in Doha, Qatar. Adding these two would add an extra dimension to GT games, not to mention providing some Middle Eastern love to racing fans. I've heard of the Istanbul course, which also seems pretty fun love or hate Herman Tilke's track (in terms of configuration) designing.

I'd especially appreciate a virtual tour of the world in the next GT, just be sure to pay Australia a visit. Bathurst would be the ultimate goal for Australia in GT. Australia needs more representation. America has theirs in GT, we just need to get Australia on the map. On top of that, more British and Italian influence are needed as well. I can almost say that for every nationality of car in GT, there should be at least one course to go with that nationality. If this were true, I bet Belgians will love taking their Gillet Vertigo around Spa-Francorchamps. That is, if I know the world...

Hoho, that would be very nice, but highly unlikely. And we would miss out on tracks from Mexico, Brasil, Canada, China, all of Africa and the middle-east. On the other hand...Spa, Bathurst, Monza, Silverstone, the all new Gotland Ring, Catalunya, Zandvoort, and so on...not bad at all!

Personally I'd like to see my favourite ever GT track re-instated; Grindelwald is the daddy of all tracks. I guess I just like the mountainous tracks. It would be good if they had more road based tracks and made them point to point. One brilliant idea would be to make a ficticious point to point track based on Britain's undulating, fast b-roads like the ones near me on Dartmoor or those in Wales. Those roads are a proper challenge and with so many road cars in the game now, it would be good to use them in their natural environment.

I don't know if this has been said, I didn't have time to read the whole thread: I think the dragstrip(s) should be changed to a proper 1/4 mile. I'm not sure, but I'd say the standard of the world for pro drag racing is to run a 1/4 mile track. I'm not being a stubborn American, I mean, there are tons of car guys from around the world that come to America just to drag race because they might not have accessible tracks in their country.
They should also use real tracks. Indianapolis Raceway Park (IRP) has two ovals (big Indy 500 oval, small oval) and they also have one of the most modern and well-known strips in the world. So many drag strips it's just rediculous. Infineon has a drag strip, the front stretch is right next to it. Why dudn't they use that?
There are also a lot of circuits around the world that are based on old airports. Use the runways for drag strips.
Other changes: Proper rally "stages", more oval tracks (many famous ovals around the world), a real-life high-speed proving grounds, more circuits in general (especially famous European tracks, I don't know very many, just a few famous ones, and North American circuits, like Road Atlanta or Mid-Ohio) how about some dirt ovals, ya'll! Along with some sprint cars. Throw in some real drag cars, Top Fuelers, Pro Stock cars, plenty of Japanese drag cars, oval stock cars, all sorts of stuff. Now that would be a challenge!
Oh, and bring back Pike's Peak.
I guess my point is that they should expand the types of racing the game covers to enhance the games appeal around the world. Naturally by adding thracks they will come across more tracks from around the world. This may necessitate the addition of more types of race cars. And if not, add more types anyway. They have 50 gigs of space to play with, so why not add all this stuff!

At least there are some American tracks. No love for the UK? Silverstone, Brands, Donington, Thruxton....Just one of those would be awesome. :D

Basically, I'd like to see more real UK tracks, aswell as Spa and, if possible, the Nurburgring with the Nordschleife and Sudschelife combined. :sly:

You are so right. I couldn't possibly fail to disagree with you any less.

First of all...whoa, I'm posting for like the first time in six months. And I thought I had the addiction beat.

About the American tracks, I'd like to see one of the short ovals. I've mentioned this before, and I'm sure JohnBM01 remembers this. There's Bristol, of course, which has ridiculous banking and serious pile-up risks. Or there's Martinsville, which is basically a paper clip. Long, thin, and flat. That might sound boring, but I actually prefer it to Bristol because passing takes near perfect decision-making skills (it usually takes at least three laps to set up a pass) and some elephant sized balls. Especially if there's damage.

I've only had time to skim the thread, so I'm sure the tracks that I desire to be in GT5 have already been mentioned. After watching a little bit of the Rolex 24, I really would like the Daytona road course implemented. Mid-Ohio is another. And maybe some even older configurations of Le Mans? The more tracks the better I suppose. PD... throw everything you got in that Blu-Ray Disc!

Personally, I like Bristol better than Martinsville because it's faster and the cars beat up against eachother more. There's not a car without a dent or tire mark on it when Bristol is over with. I've gone to the August night race for the past 6 years, so I'm kind of attached emotionally to the place.

You know, as much as I say that the Rolex 24 has lost its glamour since Grand-Am went to Daytona Prototypes, I actually wouldn't mind the Daytona road course, and I'll give you a big reason why. You can race the course with REAL sports cars. Imagine racing an old-school Jaguar GTP or something around the course. With the Dodge Viper from 2000 in GT games since GT3, you can replicate the Dodge Viper GTS-R's success around the course in Team Oreca's outright win in 2000. Not to get anyone's hopes up, but Ferrari was in the game, I'd surely love being Risi Competizione in the beautiful relic, a car that deserves its own Hall of Fame- the Ferrari 333SP. Of course, my favorite race car of all time.

The main point of this post? I actually don't mind Daytona's road course now that I think about it.
