This is going to sound pretty sad, but the rumble strip on the exit of turn 9 at Fuji doesnt make noise and feels like tarmac.

Yes, thanks. I noticed it after first play, but it didn't come to my mind when I wrote this thread. Added.

Great Thread!

I think it could be broken down more specifically, I suspect the PD programmers are in different teams, modelers, physics, cosmetics, peripherals etc... so maybe the bugs could be broken down into specific categories and rated as to how they affect gameplay.

Peripheral - prevents continued play - G25 - steering locked after hard wall crash, work around - remove power to wheel and return to menu.

Model - does not match real car - Lotus Elise '96 - tachometer reads to 9k and has redline, in real life it reads to 8k and has no redline marked. Gear ratios are correct as KPH's to RPM is correct.

Audio - Cosmetic - When entering tunnels in game (even under bridges) a (possibly hardware) reverb effect is applied to the engine audio. This is sometimes not removed when the tunnel is exited, most likely during online play.

How about all the tracks where you can cut across the corner and get no penalty its clever the people who find it but when then gain a second or so and more momentum if ya cant beat em join them.

Yes I hate this too.
Sometimes I find myself being able to drive on the wrong side of the curbs through a hairpin and still not recieve any penalty.
Sure, if one wheel accidentally takes a bit of a shortcut, but not when you can chuck the whole car "inside" the apex, that's just too much and should be penalized.
PD should be tougher with this, cars are supposed to stay on the track, that's where they belong. Racing is not about pushing boundaries and finding out how much you can cut each corner.

Oh, two others.
-When in interior view, the rear view wing mirrors show the cars in basic block shapes, without reflections or details. I think this happens at daytona, but I can remember specifically.
-Weird dust animation (makes vertical lines through it and reminds me on an old computer monitor warming up) when the AI run too far of the shoulder.

Detail level on the main screen or the mirrors can't be represented as bug, it's a thing reserving PS3 graphical performance for more important things of graphics at the moment. But that dust graphical glitch, mainly seen when dust cloud is above the grass, it's certainly is a sort of graphical bug.

Only checked the main post, so I don't know if anyone else saw this one already, but if you take the F2007 out on High-Speed Ring and on that first, wide curve, stop perpendicular to the railing so that your front wheels are elevated higher than your rear ones, your wheels will rotate as if you were rolling backwards slowly despite the fact that you are not rolling backwards one bit.

Not exactly a huge glitch, especially since you'd never encounter it racing properly, but it's kinda amusing. Nonetheless, I think they should fix it. It's probably a pretty small error that they simply haven't noticed since they probably haven't tested that exact scenario. In any other vehicle, you can't really see the wheels well enough to notice the glitch.

The Mines GT-R Limiter is wrong, its set around 9000 not 8000 like in the game.. the engine comes into play and straight away there is the limiter... you should be shifting at 8700rpm.

Sometimes on Fuji when I'm doing the last 2-3 corners, when there are about 3-5 cars ahead of me, the screen splits jaggedly for a split second before going back to normal. Doesn't effect anything else other than being annoying.

My yellow Amuse has some catastrophic black waves going over it (in lieu of reflections) in the run-up to the start of a race at Daytona oval 800PP online.

I've literally no idea how much of that detail is needed, but that's what I remember.

There's a ceiling in place that prevents vehicle lift/rollovers in GT5p. Not really a glitch but a self-imposed limit to the physics engine that PD chose to implement.

There is still kinetic energy that needs to be released in play though, so that leads to the unrealistic wheel-dance spinning instead of the flaming rollover that should occour instead.

Hopefully GT5 will have that imaginary ceiling removed and the car will be allowed to react more realistically.

I have a new bug to report, I'll try and catch it on video for all to see.

Here's the video:

So, there you go: The Red Dot glitch by MadMax86

Some background search I did:
No mentionings of this at GTP or YouTube.

The red dot appeared only at London Reverse Time Trial mode,
not in any other track/map.

Conclusion:
There was meanth to be a red dot going around the track in TT mode screen just like
at Arcade: the screen where you select the track.
Or the red dot is a just a mistake.

I'm surprised I'm the only one that noticed this but the RSX's speedometer is way off. It shows a lot faster than you're going. (In the dashboard not the GT speedo)

I just started an online race (800pp Suzuka) and it showed the grid line up for a split second and all i can now see is a view from the start of the back straight of Suzuka. It counted down 3, 2, 1 as usual but i cannot do anything. What is going on!? I can see the other peoples cars as they come past my point of view but they go straight through me. Also i found that if i press the SELECT button the sreen gets brighter for a while then goes back to normal. Anybody experienced this? Sorry if it's been mentioned as i have not read all posts.

Actually I experienced the same bug yesterday as well. The camera was stationary at teh Dunlop Curve and I spent my time seeing the other cars passing my camera. Don't know what that's about.

My screen was flashing when pressing R1, nothing happened when pressing SELECT though. :P

Edit:
Just remembered I swapped SELECT and R1 for changing the camera view.

Yeah should have mentioned my change view button is SELECT. Did you get any money after the race finished? I don't think i did, but came back to the PS3 after the race finished so i'm not sure.

I don't think this has been mentioned, but the steering shake/wobble in some cars (especially the f2007 and higher pp cars) at higher speeds needs to be erased. Such a bug or problem should be absolutely unacceptable in GT5, as it is not only extremely unrealistic, but also quite annoying and obtrusive to the driving experience. In some cases you must turn the FFB down so low you end up losing a lot of feedback strength and information...at least with my Fanatec wheel.

On another note, I'm really interested to see if, or how much PD changes the physics and ESPECIALLY the FFB quality for GT5...

In single race mode the other day I noticed a major graphical glitch, namely a diagonal straight line matching the silver paint of the Skyline Coupe Concept that it was attached too, stretching right to the edge of the frame at all times. Only appeared after three laps or so, at Suzuka.
