He mentioned the ability to transfer cars (if I remember accurately) from the Prologue.

And about the usage - I want to start from the beginning too. But I also enjoy the split screen, and I want to be able to do some serious two-player, double-DF(Pro+GT) action from the day one. So I'll be madly happy if I could import a few of my Imprezas into GT5, race them around some gorgeous new tracks, and later on I would start playing "proper" GT5 with the cheap car and climb my way to the top (no way I'm going to spoil my game by using the Amuse S2000 or any other of those monsters right after the beginning).

Besides it's a very interesting feature, the ability to transfer data between games. After all - if it's not mandatory there is no reason to loathe it.

Fantastic point.

Thats why we have arcade mode, a large selection of cars is available right away for some fun without having to buy them in career mode. With the good number of Imprezas which should be available (going by GT4) there should be a couple ready in arcade right away.

Slightly off topic, but

In past GT games am i right in saying you could take your garage with you on memory card to your mates house, and play the two garages against each other. How would that work in GT5?

But I want MY Imprezas ;P. Of course that is a way of solving this problem, and no matter what PD will do - I'll take it. It will possibly be good enough to substitute the transferring of the cars. The only drawback I can think of is the fact, that (if they we're to appear in GT5) odometers of arcade cars wouldn't clock the distance driven. It's a gimmick, doesn't carry anything new in the game, uses precious resources etc., but it's just purely awesome to see the miles accumulating on your favorite car, one after one. It gives you the feeling of really owning the car :).

We'll have to wait and see how it all plays out, hopefully no one will be left on ice :)

I don't think it matters that much what gets transferred over, then again I'm not going to be living online, at least until I finish all or most of the single player game.

I know onliners have a reason to grouch, because those who start from scratch will be seeing servers from day one with Ferraris, Lambos and GTRs in them, and maybe the Prologue tuners as well. But even then, I still don't care, because it should mean the impatient folk, who are also probably the less skilled drivers, will be out of the lower classed servers.

I did the money transfer in GT4 because of the used car lots. New cars will be available forever, but I knew I wouldn't want to miss a few of those used beauties, and didn't want to have to wait possibly months in GT time to see them again. And I bought all of five cars, yet I raced from the start with my lowly MR2 MkI, because I did want to take it step by step legitimately.

If someone else "cheats," it's nothing to me, who cares?
