GT6 at PlayStation Meeting ?

Absolutely.

GT5 on PS3 maxes at 16 cars on the track at once. I think the PS3 has 1/2 GB of RAM (someone correct me if that's wrong).

That's a 16x increase we're getting. Not saying we'll get 128 cars on the track at once, but I think an increase to 24-30 cars seems very reasonable.

It's a bit more complicated.
PS3 has 256mb DDR3 for the CPU and 256mb XDR for the GPU.
Shifting memory between the two was notoriously slow.
PS4 has a unified memory pool of 8GB.
It is notoriously fast in terms of bandwidth.

The point made about rubbish smoke and shadows is the most valid one.
GT6 is going to blow minds and make eyeballs bleed with delight.

Not ready? Kaz would be in New York if he was needed

This thing today (PS4 Announcement) was huge.

I think they didn't want to show bits of GT7 Prologue when they are getting ready to launch GT6 for the PS3.

No. Gran Turismo 6 will be on PS4.

When Sony unveiled Drive Club, I stopped to hope Gran Turismo 6 in PlayStation Meeting. Indeed, if they presented next Gran Turismo, players have quickly forgotten Drive Club.

I saw Drive Club's trailer, Gran Turismo 6 will be more more impressive. There is no doubt.....

We all could see new video from new sony's ip in racing games - drive club developing for PS4.
This game is developing by SONY studio - Evolution and simple conclusion can be made. Sony have bought manufacturer's licenses for that.
In video there were Koenigsegg Agera, Hennessey, Pagani Huayra and some others cars never seen in GT series.
That mean those cars can be in GT6 car list. I gues it is quite possible.

Seriously? You STILL think that despite the fact PS4 is going to be released in 10 months or less? You think that the biggest selling exclusive PS franchise is now going to announce their next major game on the PS3, amongst the flood of PS4 content over the next few months up to E3? Are you thinking they're going to rock up at E3 and amongst all of the PS4 games and news, announce GT6 on PS3?

I admire you sticking to your guns but you must be mad.

Indeed, and he must not have been needed because he wasn't there. His daily posting of being in France and Italy are proof. He was at the Ferrari headquarters yesterday, so no way he was in NY.

It's 512MB, or half of a GB in "total", but I think the gameplay for PS3 games use 256MB of the RAM. I know more people on GTP that can explicitly explain what I'm trying to say.

Ahh!

:D:tup:

Gee, if PD has been doing all this work, for all this time...
I wonder why they wouldn't show any bits of GT6 for the PS4?
It's ALLLLLLL due to the enormous outcry over GT5's shortcomings and failures. Kaz won't be saying much about GT6 until it's going to be released. I'd say ONLY a few/couple of months before it's released.
Think of it this way. Evolution Studios have been working on their game, DriveClub for longer. With that in mind, I don't think it'd be a good idea to present two racing games in one event such as this.

I personally think it's a smart move. This game can be used to help bring in racers at launch. Then after several months, GT6 will release and take over. When you have two exclusive racers, it's best to spread them out, right?
And Kaz/SCE Japan turned down a collaboration between the studios/games. Not sure which, but it speaks for itself.

The timeframe of everything makes me think well see gt6 as one of the challenges in gt academy this year if there will be one. "This and that racing driver should think on their feet so here's a game with completely different physics, loser gets their bits cut off."

Too good of a marketing opportunity to pass up the way I see it. Unless they aren't ready and the challenge will be pro drive instead.

I always find very funny how Sony totally forgets about one of their biggest selling exclusive franchises.

Now, the concept of a "drive club" exclusive game is very interesting:
- Is PD involved in it (employees, joint venture, sharing content, programs and knowledge)?
- Why show a PD/GT rival project on their main presentation in years? It truly is the same concept by another company, being an exclusive as well.
- Are former PD employees working on Evolution Studios?
- In the end what I want to ask is, Is Sony going away from PD?

I doubt they will be rivals. Drive Club is probably a launch title. GT6 is coming Q2 2014 at earliest imo. One is a sim the other looks to be more arcadish. Really two different audiences they're going after

I expect we'll see a short GT6 trailer at E3 followed by a constant stream of images but a full blowout including release date at TGS. If they showed GT6 at the meeting it would have overshadowed DC, which is a launch title.

Funny. Shuhei Yoshida was asked about Gran Turismo from a interview he had with GameInFormer. :P

Shuhei Yoshida
“Working toward this event has been so much fun. I’ve never had this amount of speculation. Everyone has a list of 20 things they want to see at this event. This is just day one. We have more days ahead,”

Taken from here
http://www.gameinformer.com/b/features/archive/2013/02/21/interview-shu.aspx

So I'm expecting to see GT6 at E3 hopefully, where everyone around the world would see it.

Has anyone seen this yet? Just making sure. ;)

Yoshida also commented on GT on the PS4 (and possibly Vita) in a Japanese interview

We obviously need a translation for that.

“Look at the games coming out on the PlayStation 3 like The Last of Us, Beyond: Two Souls, GT6, and then on the third-party side of things another fantastic Assassin’s Creed, GTA,” -“It’s important for our content to have that kind of longevity because, as I was saying [about the PS Vita], the games that come through are going to get better and better over time.”

I trust Yoshida, Gt6 will be on ps4.

Here is a google translation of what he said:

"Drive game called, "Driveclub" as software for the PS4 has been announced. However, I think Japan has a Polyphony Digital, a lot of people are excited about the launch of a racing game that, why is that area. : Mr. Yoshida has been involved in the development of the PS Vita itself a key member of Polyphony Digital and PS4. While I think of how I would like to hear that the Gran Turismo has become essential, for it will be evident to them by Mr. Kazunori Yamauchi representative."

I don't see the number 6 anywhere.

Indeed.

Here are my thoughts from another thread upon reading the article posted above:

If GT6 is actually a PS3 game, it would partly explain why nothing of GT6 was shown at the PS4 announcement. Perhaps Kaz's mention of the PS4 being a "blank canvas" means that GT7 is being started from scratch for the PS4?

I'm still taking it with a grain of salt, but a PS3 release wouldn't surprise me.

Yes and I still think it's a mistake of some sort. He wouldn't just blurt out GT6 like that knowing full well it hasn't been announced yet.

Does it matter? Just because there wasn't a "6" in the Gran Turismo name, it still doesn't mean its going on the PS3, so keep dreaming...

Excatly. Also, why would he even say GT6 is going on the PS3, when like you said, GT6 hasn't even been announced yet in the first place? It has to be a mistake.

If PD do release GT6 for PS3 it would suck because, they would be focusing on the next generation console and end up screwing the gameplay up for the PS3. it would probably work for every other game but not something as in depth as GT. also they're probably already focusing on GT7 so they wouldn't have the time to make GT6 for PS3.

Of course it was a mistake. I'm sure he didn't mean to say it, but he did.

Of course it was a mistake. I'm sure he didn't mean to say it, but he did.

I didn't mean it like that, Gran Turismo is the biggest selling exclusive PS franchise and this is the VP of SCEE, do you really think he would have 'accidentally' given away the future of that series in a pretty throwaway comment when talking about games already announced for PS3? Even if he did let it slip in the interview you can be sure he'd have realised his mistake instantly and this website would have been told not to print it.

It is just a written interview, it could easily be a mistake from the writeup/something misheard etc.

If you really want to be sure why not ask the author of that article for clarification - https://twitter.com/CriticalRedPen

Didn't amar and some other guy here already stated it's coming for PS4 ("when the 6 skips the 3 and comes for 4 blah blah...") and that it will be presented at E3? I think this is clear already...

Every Sony-Owned Studio is Working on PS4 Games

Source: http://www.ign.com/articles/2013/02/25/every-sony-owned-studio-is-working-on-ps4-games

The question posed to Yoshida was simple: “Is it fair to say that all of the first party studios are working on PS4 games?” Yoshida’s answer was just as simple: “Is it fair or not fair? It is fair to say.”

For instance, this all but confirms that Naughty Dog’s second team is working on a PlayStation 4 title (Uncharted 4, anyone?). Polyphony Digital is almost certainly working on Gran Turismo 6 for PS4. This also confirms that Media Molecule isn’t only focused on the upcoming Vita title Tearaway, and that Guerrilla Cambridge, Studio London, Sony Santa Monica and Sony San Diego are also toiling away on PlayStation 4 games.

Most likely nothing was shown or even mentioned because its completion is so far off it's not even funny :sly:

Did anyone else find Amar's latest riddle way less subtle than usual?

I have seen a few posts by this guy. Why is he so cryptic? Jordan's website is much bigger and he has actually had access. He should have the inside scoop.

I don't put any credence in that poem.

His latest poem was actually really straight forward compared with some of his GT5 related riddles. His new stuff can't even really be considered a riddle.
