GT6 ideas for GT Life and Main Menus

I don't think PD will completely overhaul the menus, at this point, so Tweeting KY probably won't do much.

True, but it'd be nice for us more critical fans of GT after GT5 to be more proactive and show Kaz what fans want. And I don't mean bombarding him with wish threads.

This would be a great flow for GT6.

I mean having a user display a nice, well-written tweet with these pictures. He has a Twitter, might as well contact him. No spam, of course, but just a nice proposal.

Then what are we waiting for? Lets hop to it! :dopey: Don't want no car or track wishlists added in it either, I'll love to see a new GT Life menu for GT5.

This would also be a perfect thing for GT6 as well.

True, I mean I think the only reason I haven't tried to contact KY or tweet him is due to not wanting a twitter. Yet as GT5's life seems to be ending the time has come to contact him! I think after GTA would be best though.

Exactly lol. If someone has an account, I'd ask him/her first.

But I would make a scrap account just to post the pictures.

Hi everybody!

I hate GT5 life menu. Its boring and it has way too many buttons which clutter everything up.

Also on the main menu where (you spend the least amount of time on) have these scenes playing in the background of your current selected car in certain locations why has PD not used these on the GT-Life menu where you spend most your time on.

So I had an idea of cleaner menu with those scenes playing in the background. I believe something similar can be achieved in a future update.

Here some Ideas I have:


  • [*] Be able to customize GTLIFE menu to own taste
  • Cleaner simple menu
  • Animated background like the main menu
  • Have your current car shown
  • More A-spec/B-spec races
  • Combine Photo Travel/Replay into one
  • Move modifications to GT AUTO
  • More events with time/weather change

Well this isn't the first great idea to be seen, and usually people say just what you have. "Let's get this over to KY's twitter" yet it seems no one is sure how to do this still after 18 months. Some one should collect all these great idea threads, throw them into one and then present that thread to KY if/when possible.

Cool sketches Nismo. Some of them reminds me of GT1-GT4 menu designs. I would love to see a remake design of GT4 with a free moving world in GT5, but the game is getting old. It will be a great experience to see a open world map to navagate like the GT4 days again, but on a whole new level.
 
GT5 is boring as a whole, I really hope they can do something unique in GT6, maybe throw over the whole series, make it slightly less realistic.

The first part though, I'm making more. GT Home is the place for watching replays, listening to music and doing options and such. Demo are premade video's by PD as screensavers, downloadable in GT Home. DLC can also be activated in there.

I liked your very first mockup, your updated GT6 GT Life screen not so much. It just doesn't having any feeling to it.
 
I don't like it. I'd much more prefer it to that of GT4, or similar.

I agree. I thinking the exact same thing when finished it thought I;d post it any way as it does look better than sketches I made. Decided to use a simple background and icons as I don't know how to use the software.

The idea was to have a 3d Buttons and a 3d environment and still have a classy GT look. Was away from PS3 so couldn't take photos for the background just used basic designs to get my point across.

I try to explain what each icon:

I think its better to group the replay, photo travel and music into its own menu. (please tell me your thoughts on this)

Gt Auto and car modifications should be together and the used car should be placed in the dealership menu.

Online will have custom games like GT5 already has, ranked races based on stock/modified/race cars all sorted by pp index for example 350 pp, 450 pp etc and also seasonal events will be under online.

Time trail/ practice has online leader boards.

Really hope PD does something about the menu for GT6. Current one is archaic, cluttered and annoying to navigate.
 
I like your designs, I think the gt5 menu is to dark and cluttered. IMO a nice green and gold for colors would add a very prestigious look to the menus.

In what sense? The point to GT is to be as realistic as possible on console. If you want a less realistic game they are out there.

AMAZING

Very well done, great look, simple and yet in depth and fun. It's not a clutter mess and with the white space you could put a nice background. PD really need to see this thread more than ever.

Looks good, nice work.


But i am one of those that has not problem with the current menu at all and i like it. It needs more short-cuts in the race menu and for "Arcade" too. Single player should be as easy as it is to set up the race in the lobby while playing online being the host.

Despite my opinion. Looking forward to see something similar maybe in GT6. Keep working on it because it looks really good.👍
