So I was playing through a few of the older GT titles and I noticed that all of them except GT1 had a manufacturers race series. Such as Race of the Red R. In my opinion I think PD should consider bringing this back to GT titles. They were always a challenge and yeilded good car prizes. Maybe this time add "Special" cars or specially tuned versions of the car used in the race as prizes. And make the races progressively harder as you go to ensure you work to gain these cars. Any thoughts here?

I liked them because it added a lot of variety. The only thing I wasn't a fan of was how they were completely separate from the A-Spec experience.

I say bring them back and integrate them better.

I agree HAL20xx. They were a great experience in my opinion. Didn't GT5 Prolougue have a few of the events in it? If that had them in it then they should have implemented that into GT5 as well. They sure had plenty of time.

I would split the racing subcategories into:

GT League - (Karts, Sunday Cup, Clubman Cup, etc)
Nationals - (Japanese Classics, American Muscle Car Trophy, French Car Cup, etc)
Manufacturer Races - (Ferrari Challenge, GT-R Trophy, MX-5 Race, etc)
Special Events - (Like The Wind, Supercar Challenge, other miscellaneous races/series)
Licenced Series - (DTM, GT500, NASCAR etc)
Endurance
Rally

This is much easier to negotiate than having to guess what events PD classifies as beginner, amateur, professional and so on. It is also more sensible as the difficulty doesn't depend on the cars, it depends on the quality of drivers.

I would definitely support some custom prize cars allocated to certain events. However just the one prize car per event would be good - I don't particularly want to grind events because of a prize car lottery. Being able to win the same car over again for a given event would also be sensible.

@ShiftingGears- Thats also a great idea as well. The way you have those set up is a great idea. And do then by driver experience. Let the races get harder as you go. And Gold them before you move on to the next event. I'm all about improvement in the driver. I'm no where near a pro or even advanced but I think difficulty makes you better because you HAVE to improve to win.

Great idea!
That was something I missed alot from GT5,manufacturer races are brilliant.

Exactly. They added a lot to the game. Maybe PD will realize their mistake in taking them out of the series and remake them in GT6. :D
