Yes, you can do an oil change before driving the car... I haven't changed the brake balance.
Cool. That's what I did in the last three, oil change, everything else stock including BB.

Another entry for the production category:

07:42.590 - SRT Challenger SRT8 '08 (Johnnypenso) NEW

I couldn't get a grip (punny:lol:) on the understeer in this car so there's much more left in this one methinks.

Fastest 3 tested with G27, the rest with DS3...

Production:

06:56.824 - Pagani Huayra '13 (Sutuki) NEW
07:02.120 - Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG '10 (Sutuki) NEW
07:02.351 - SRT Viper GTS Launch Edition '13 (Sutuki) NEW
08:17.277 - Honda ACCORD Coupe EX '03 (Sutuki) NEW
09:31.818 - Honda Insight '99 (Sutuki) NEW
09:47.044 - Toyota Aqua S '11 (Sutuki) NEW
09:59.942 - Daihatsu MIRA TR-XX Avanzato R '97 (Sutuki) NEW
10:30.529 - Ford Ka '01 (Sutuki) NEW

Pagani... finally managed to complete a clean lap in this one. Shiploads of mistakes after the Karussell . So far this is the only stock car that I've found challenging at all because of oversteer :boggled:. It's quite ridiculous though, you have to be VERY careful with the throttle and steering at all speeds. And I like it :)

On the other hand, I didn't like the Viper '13 at all. If you get any oversteer in this car, you might as well just keep drifting as you wont be able to regain grip anytime soon. The car felt kind of floaty, it was hard to get clean driving lines in this one. 👎

Production:

07:25.905 - Jaguar XKR-S '11 (GTP_gooners_17) NEW

In two minds about this car. Enjoyed driving it, and it has amazing balance from mid corner on. But there's so much understeer on corner entry, that I kept losing precious momentum trying get the car to turn in.

07:27.699 - Ferrari F40 '92 (psavi) NEW

I know this is a favorite for a lot of people, but nobody has posted a time yet, so I'll at least give you something to beat.

This was my first clean lap and a lot of times I had to trade speed for control. So I will not be surprised if someone can take 15 seconds off that time.

Congrats... that's one very difficulty car to drive 👍

I've tried the F40 a couple of times, but found it very hard to run consistently at it's limits for a full lap without losing the rear on the brakes... well done for completing a decent lap 👍

Production Cars

09:23.193 - Alfa Romeo Spider 1600 Duetto '66 (IBZ6L20VT) NEW
09:14.555 - Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint Speciale '63 (IBZ6L20VT) NEW

I tested this two beautiful Alfas to check the differences between them and the other Alfa that I posted in #269, the Giulia GTA with a time of 09:04.398. They are very similar cars, but as you see they are separated by 10 seconds each. For me, it's a little surprise because the hp were from 115 to 120 hp. The weight is very similar too, except for the GTA, that is lighter. I guess that, somehow, PD managed to make the Spider as in real life, made for a sunny shoreside road, just to enjoy the wind on your head, and not for a circuit.

If replays were required, I have them saved.

Its definitely a tricky car to drive stock at the limit. I spun several times but I was determined to finish a lap.

What bothers me the most is PD's confusion with secondary final drives that makes extremely long transmissions like in the McLaren F1 and the F40. I surely prefer to drive it with Comfort Mediums and corrected transmission than driving it stock.

I was going to take a crack at a couple of cars in the production category but I need some clarification first.

Does this mean you can't do the initial oil change when you purchase a car?

Also, can you adjust brake balance on a production car?

Thx @Stotty for answering his question :)

I fixed the OP, i thought cars were not gaining power at first with oil change, most of my time were without oil change... :) yes you canchange oil no problem, but you cant change brake bias, everything on stock setting :)

Lots of new time! good job guys! my only free time go to the WRS event this week, but hopefully ill be able to update tomorrow :)

New times for the production board:

07:04.927 - Ferrari Enzo '02 (Johnnypenso) NEW

07:23.889 - BMW M5 '05 (Johnnypenso) NEW

First I was adamant to joining the thread and now, here I am, regularly posting times. I guess I have Stotty to blame for this...

Well, who's up for more Lamborghini:

Production cars:

07:07.416 - Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 '11 (psavi) NEW

In the beginning, I thought this was a new under 7 minutes car. The Aventador is awfully fast, and grips like crazy, more than I expected for its weight. Despite being 4WD, it behaves a lot like a MR, oversteering on exit under power, but very controllable at it. Its weight shows on turn in as it understeers a lot. Brakes are awesome.

I was really going for a competitive lap here. Despite being my first clean lap, the laps I screwed were pretty far in, so I was already familiar with the car. I did make some mistakes: a missed apex here, an early brake there, but nothing major. I don't see an under 7 minutes lap here, at least not on my hands. I hope a proper Ring master can prove me wrong. Nonetheless, a very fast and fun car in its stock form. 👍

More times for the production board:

07:42.988 - Spoon S2000 '00 (Johnnypenso) NEW

08:10.335 - Honda Integra Type R (DC5) '04 (Johnnypenso) NEW

I was into a hot lap in the Spoon but just too tired to finish it. Going to take another crack at that one.

This time I decided to test the abilities in the Ring of two of the rivals of my actual car.

Production cars:

08:37.755 - Peugeot 206 RC '03 (IBZ6L20VT) NEW
08:34.726 - Renault Sport Clio R.S. 2.0 16V '02 (IBZ6L20VT) NEW
08:33.220 - SEAT Ibiza Cupra '04 (IBZ6L20VT) NEW

Ok, finally I decided to upload the time of the Cupra, but just to see it in the board. I have my personal commitment to get the time of the Cupra under 8:30.

I'm going to explain a little bit what this kind of Hot Hatchs mean in Europe. Probably, for the ones that live in the States or maybe if you just live out of Europe, won't understand the sucess of a FF car that is 4 meters long but has almost 200 hp. It's hard to understand, even for us. I think that the key to their sucess is the price. They are available for the youngsters. For a little bit more than 20000 € you have a car that handles lovely (despite the natural understeer) and have the acceleration of a car that duplicates its price.

Both Clio and 206 have 2.0 engines, with no turbo. 177 and 172 hp. IRL the Peugeot handles worse, with a chassis with difficulties to absorb all the power, it's like overwhelmed with the task. Fortunately PD reproduces this situation with fidelity. I am surprised with the ability of them to catch the spirit of the cars, and the little differences between them. I never faced that until I have this tests on the Ring. So, the Peugeot is nervous, constantly loosing traction. The Clio is relaxed, you get the time without effort. Probably, I could shave a second or two with the Peugeot, but today I'm tired to struggle with a rebel car.

As you see, they aren't the best detailed cars of the game. A shame.

Looks like this is starting to be a Chris and Sutuki show

And @mike_gt3 has a lot of administration to do

:ron: ;)

Unfortunately true... I still feel like 🤬

07:50.103 - BMW Concept 1 Series tii '07 (GTP_Stotty) BEATEN

Thought I'd see if I could pinch my 1 series time back from Dennis and discovered I hadn't done an oil change the last time I ran it... chipped another second off. There's still a bit more to come on that one, but the car isn't really very nice to drive.

Why  You've really hurt my feeling :mutt: You probably spend 2 laps on it

Oops. I noticed that the Clio Sport 2.0 16V '02 is repeated in the production list. I didn't see it in the sheet when I uploaded my time. Probably it was in a comment. My fault. Sorry. @Sutuki has the best time, an astonishing difference of 10 seconds. Poor me... LOL

08:05.097 - Tesla Motors Model S Signature Performance '12 (Im_Lukas) NEW

There is no way a car as heavy as the Tesla should corner and brake that well, I'm really impressed if it can corner like that in real life, only downside is the top speed but that's understandable.

@mike_gt3 on the production board one of your times is in the wrong position which I'm guessing is because the time is in the wrong format, I'm referring to the Acura INTEGRA TYPE R '01, sat in 113th. Great work keeping this updated.

Sorry dude saw your posts but 8 out of 10 posts where from Chis and Sutuki.

Nice lap times btw

Wanted to try the DB9 as well but think i won't any more

No worries mate, just having a laugh:lol:

Have a go at the DB9 if you want to. I'm trying to choose cars that aren't on the board and I like but sooner or later we're going to get to where that isn't an option. I doubt I maxed it out either. I usually do a few corners and figure out how it acts under braking, turn in, full throttle etc, rinse and repeat a couple of times after spinning. Then I do a base lap where I'm pretty careful, then one more to push the limits a little further but not on the ragged edge. So plenty left in them. I'm sure @mike_gt3 would shave 10+ seconds off most of my times.

Hey Mike your 5:40 evo lap was really a big one! I tried the Sauber today and got only like 5:44 even though Im sure that doing a setup cant make a difference of 7 seconds on my other lap(well obviously it can) but at least I hoped to beat your Peugeot time :D

Seems I aint as good as you on hard tyres as the C9 should perform much better than a 905, shouldnt it? I wanna know where I binned it, Im getting 1:03 on the 2nd Sector would you mind telling me yours?

@Sutuki and Stotty
I see you like my Honda laptime :) Im working on a high quality video about it atm! I recorded a 1 lap online race of a 5:45 converting to 5:42 on a flying lap which should provide quite some fancy video material. Im also putting up my corresponding skid recovery lap which is another 8 seconds quicker so everyone can tell the difference....The hsv-010 goes damn smooth on the ring so Ive been accused of srf-use before and wanna prevent it this time :)

Im interested in your t2 of the peugeot lap you posted. t1 is something about 36 seconds and t2 about 1 minute. Im interested in your 2nd sector time when you did 5:40 with a stock car. Im getting 1:03 what did you get there?

I was actually ignoring you

I probably need lots of laps to beat your DB9 time. I'm not so good at the ring. That Vantage lap cost countless laps to achieve. And i'm sure guys like Chris and Sutuki beat it in no time. You probably as well
