Something really worried me about an embargo until game release day. This often times indicates a less than spectacular game. (Most publishers and developers want good reviews before release as to guarantee more sales. No reviews until sale day sometimes indicates the publishers/debs being unhappy or expecting negative reviews)

I've seen it happen many times and it almost always ends up bad. I truly hope this game is good, otherwise I'm out of racing games to play! :P
I was thinking exactly the same, cheeky way to avoid people canceling their preorders I suppose. Might sound stupid to most of you but this means I won't be ordering until after release then. This time around PD needs to deserve my 60 bucks, after the unfinished business that was GT5...

It's my exact situation. Well, that and that I'm down on cash at the moment

Guys, the game isn't going to suck. If you are truly worried about that and funds are tight, just wait a couple days until we've all had a day or two to play around with it. This forum will have more info than you can digest and then some.

And lets get one thing straight ... there is a chance that this isn't a meteoric improvement over what we had before. And if that's the case ... so what? If most of you hated GT5 ... yeah, your expectations may be greater than mine. But I for one thought GT5 was a great game with a few nagging problems. From what I've seen, PD has made an effort to address those few nagging problems. And if they don't get it perfect ... let me just say ... I look forward to seeing what these car nuts do with the PS4.

I've got my game pre-ordered. I pick it up on the 6th. I'll be back with my GT5 buddies that night. We're all looking forward to the new cars and the new tracks. And we're excited to see if progress was made on the physics. If so ... man, this is going to be fun. See you on the track.

These are the main cars that make me want GT6 (not like I have a choice of another GT game):

SLS GT3
Megane RS
E63 AMG(I dont want to get into any debates, please)
BRZ GT300
365 GTB4
Shelby Mustang GT500
Boss 302
All the cars after the SLS are bonuses to me, as I didnt know they would be in the game til the GT6 website reveal.
Everyone have their right to be skeptical. Be it a money thing or time invested thing. Since GT1, I just want the cars.

I'm not one to choose my games, especially in niche categories like racing (gotta admit it), based off of average scores. for a game like the newest CoD, Battlefield, Final Fantasy, sure, but not something like high-end car games. Most reviewers don't know cars or racing very well.

preview - TMS build

The arrival of Gt6 is scheduled for December 6, but we, preview, we have already managed to taste the new version of the game at the Tokyo Motor Show. To make us enjoy every nuance characteristics of the simulator produced by Polyphony Digital, Sony has made available the finest possible seats, combined with the latest version of Logitech steering wheels. The digital screen over 50 "has obviously magnified every visual detail of a program that promises mirabilie. For the first contact we have chosen (modestly ...) the prototype Peugeot 908 Hdi and the Suzuka track. Car circuit and we had already experimented extensively with Gt5 as a yardstick.

A race of two laps we projected in a world that seems improved in every detail than before. The car access system and settings, in addition to the choice of races and circuits, is rightly remained the same. But, already strapped aboard the 908 Hdi launch in meters of the race, the picture looks even more true than before. About the graphic details, but also and above all, a more realistic edge. The location seems fairly lower, with an accurate view of the track, curbs and opponents. The behavior of the prototype is reproduced more faithfully.
Driving to the limit in the curve, you have to make corrections to the steering wheel and throttle opening reactions with more truthful to those of the prototype, however, we drove really in the past. Those with little time can always help you get the blue line of the ideal line that shows in red the areas in which to use the brakes, just as before. The maximum is to deprive yourself of this help and look good for the tracks, making it sensitive to any car collisions with barriers and contacts with rivals. It is to be verified, in this regard, the correspondence between actual damages and loss of performance, perhaps one of the most difficult parameters to calculate the part of the programmers.

The Suzuka track is repeated in an almost perfect and allowed us to have fun, but not later than the merger, to win our race two laps helped by the traces of the trajectory and the ideal mode indestructible car. At the pull of the sums, Gran Turismo 6 promises so much, with endless options that enrich the gameplay. All that remains is the output backtracking to enjoy it to the hilt.

I don't think so. As others have said, popular, eagerly awaited games often have this.

I think you might have this confused with where a a publisher intentionally doesn't supply any review copies to the media. The media are then left to go and buy a retail copy. That is a bad sign, and a sure one that the title is a dud or a major disappointment.

Yes, it is the main reason for the embargo as I am aware.

People with review codes have been asked to wait for the patch to become active - on Dec 5th AFAIK - in order to get idea how the game should perform, play and everything else compared to vanilla version.

Amar, is there already an official statement of what will be included in the day 1 patch and on what parts the game will improve?

People without a permanent/broadband internet connection are going to play version 1.00.
That's not a fair request.
I agree.... but it's also true that, without this Internet update approach, we'd probably have to wait for the game in February/March (due to extra test time)..

I agree, but I can understand both sides of that coin. And personally, I will always welcome all updates and patches as the best thing that actually came out of the internet age after the multiplayer itself.

No, I have no idea. It will be probably fully described on the official pages on Dec 5th.

An Embargo on a franchise as big as GT is never a good sign.....That shows a lack of confidence in the product.

Yeah, Forza Motorsport 5 also had an embargo till release and a few people were worried about it and yet it's got astoundingly positive reviews, which I really don't expect GT6 to match at all, but it doesn't mean GT6 is going to just be a shocking failure, all they needed to do is address some core issues from GT5, this ain't GT7.

WTF?? forza 5 is the lowest reviewed forza, barely above 80 on metacritic..no GT game ever scored as low....Ig GT 6 cannot match that then the game relaly won't be very good. Facts, get some. Gt6 should surpass it easy. Forza has a major lack of content.

An embargo usually means letting reviewers play the game at their pace without rushing through everything just to get the review up early, even more so when it comes to huge games that can't be finished in a few hours. I've never managed to associate embargos with bad games, it's just a meassure to protect both reviewers and publishers from the competition of who gets the first review up.

And it's next gen, and everything is premium, and there's drivatars and that's what the reviewers focused on. Some mentioned the lack of content, but usually padded it by saying, "lack of content but more is coming in DLC and it doesn't matter because the game is so wonderful". GT6 reviews will focus on some of the new good stuff but throw out the anchor with "last gen content" , poor AI and "lots of cars, but lots of cars missing that should be there" IMO

I've been out of the forum for a while so I just read some news...Anyway, I've got a friend that does game reviews, and he told me that he just recieved the promotional copy of the game. He also told me that there is a livery editor and that the sounds, and the beaviour of the car on track are way improved comparing to GT5...I don't know if this is true, or he is just making fun of me... :(

This is how you tell.
