all GTA games up to 4 at least also have been released for pc, inkluding GTA 3, Vice City and San Andreas. PS2 had a timed exclusivity for those games.

Well I'm glad we got that cleared up then - it seems everyone is right, kind of. :P

The 3D non-topdown-view GTA games were exclusive to the PS2. No need to get anal with technicalities. The guy's point was sort of valid.
Except they wernt, they were also on PC lol... Non of the GTA games have been exclusive to Sony or the Playstation... GT has only ever been on Sony's Playstation platform lol... Comparing them as if they were both equally exclusive is meaningless and just wrong lol

Aw come on, I just finished telling everyone they were right and now you tell us were all wrong - well there goes this threads feng shui!

Dang you PD and your tight lips, look what's become of the news thread! :)

Liberty City stories and Vice City stories weren't?

Liberty City stories and Vice City stories weren't?

Honestly, I had actually forgotten about those. I guess I thought, subconsciously, that because they were PSP games, they weren't "proper" GTA games. Which is probably a hangup I had about "portable gaming" at the time they appeared.

I don't think that adapting your existing assets and game dynamics to a different hardware platform technically makes them "exclusive" any more than the hardware platform itself is exclusive, but eh... It's about as useful as saying GTPSP was a PSP exclusive, or that GTA was never sold on PS4. :P

Regardless, it doesn't really contribute, positively or negatively, to the point being made; a few handheld adaptations are not going to eclipse GT.

Lotus Seven and Europa (even if it doesn´t have the brand logo it tries to match the known colours of the brands but in the Europa car it clearly has it)

The Seven is a Caterham, which incidentally has the same brand colours as Lotus.

I thought they came out on steam? But yeah I'd forgotten about those lol arnt they just expansions?

But still... Comparing GTA to GT still makes little sense :P

Stand-alones, but in a spin off sort of way. Still, GTA titles.

And no, doesn't make much sense to me either.

I was thinking about this while having dinner and there is nothing (appart from Nintendo games) like the GT franchise really out there and it's something we should all be eternally greatful for.

It's an exclusive title, that's been around for 15yrs and it's only on it's 6th major iteration... And during that time they have simply refined and honed the formula. When you look at other similar franchises they farm out sequels far too quickly and far too often resulting in worse games and market saturation.

So yeah go GT! Lol

I'm washing my Mk3 Golf tomorrow, and I may even drop the front end another 5mm, so watch out for an update commemorating this event!

Seriously though guys, I too have high hopes for next week, DLC must surely be just around the corner.

I washed my Mk2 today and had to raise it 1 inch all round a while back.

On sump pan number 4 now .

Sorry for the off topicness, VAG fever took over.

GTAIII, Vice City and San Andreas were all timed PS2 exclusives for more than half a year each. All three games were released in October for PS2 and did not appear on Windows or any other platform until May or June the following year. Xbox had to wait two years for III, one for VC and seven months for SA.

So?

Stagnating the formula might be another way to look at it...

Cars, tracks, and boxes that have names and add others cars to what's effectively just a track day isn't a formula, its a menu of sorts. I just want some fries on the side...

With all the online stuff they are doing which is far more progressive than other racers (IMO) and even major 'AAA' titles and the lasting support gt5 has had with seasonals I think it's doing pretty well.
Yeah there are things that still need a lot of work but is rather they take there time with it than radically rebooting it trying to appeal (and sell too) a diffrent audience.

How was I wrong? GTA isn't exclusive to the Sony playstation platform... So comparing it to GT is nonsensical...

But thanks for your great contribution! :)

Like I said, they were timed PS2 exclusives. You say they never were, which is wrong. I never made any comparison but simply corrected what you said.

I don't know if full Endurance races will ever appear. The short ones seem to be what we get, but we'll see.

I've got a feeling that they'll return when B-Spec comes back. I think it was mentioned on the GT6 website that you could swap in your B-Spec drivers durring a race. So that would make sense to bring back longer races if you can do that.
