GT6 or GT5.5?

Your own hype or let down?

Personally I have yet to see anything groundbreaking regarding GT6.
Yes the lighting looks awesome and new physics look a lot better,
but still I have yet to see anything that would make me eager to jump in time.

I do hope that GT6 will be much greater of a game than GT5 and bring a more refined and cool experience,
but somehow I doubt it.
But again this is only my opinion.

So what's your take on this?
Am I completely wrong or do you perhaps agree somewhat?

I feel the same way. Hopefully it shows up at Redbox and I can rent it and try it out.

I have a feeling it will just be a touched up GT5 though. Nothing that would make me want to spend $60 on the game.

from every video we've seen so far it's GT5.5, just going by what we know. so far they've yet to wow us, maybe they're saving it for E3, but as of right now it's a HUGE letdown.

Opinions people, opinions! It is true that we haven't seen much of GT6,
BUT enough to say that the overall experience looks too much like GT5.
Sterile, vague or maybe even slightly dull. And by that I mean looking at the
car on track. Not from replays. Of course I have not tested GT6, so I cannot say anything about how the car feels to drive. And this is something that I hope has been proved.

If you have played any pc race sim or even
something like NFS, it is a completely different story. And as how pc sims go,
some of them can manage total realism and a hugely adrenaline like experience that racing is in real life.
 
Good thread. I'm with you, I'm seeing what gt5 should of been. Truthfully it's more like 5.25 considering they still have standard cars in the game. Can't be sure until it's fully out.
 
Honestly the new lighting on that 370z video at the top of the gtplanet news kinda impressed me. I really like the new lighting and from my experience with pc mods... a little change in lighting can make it feel like a whole new game.

Even if it was Gt5.5......i wouldn't care. Because i love the Gran Turismo series and an improvement over what is already there, ill take any day.

And menus plus the structure of it all? Apparently due to the A-spec moaners you can't just judge a game by it's graphics and other qualities :sly:

I do think this is a premature thread in that we have only a small amount of info to compare the one against the other with.
 
Until we learn more and see more, I kind of agree with the GT5.5. Although it is GT6, it right now feels like GT6 that should have been released a year ago. The time between GT5 and GT6 is what I'd expect, but with the delays we had with GT5, GT6 seems to be coming out too late, right at the dawn of the PS4.
I think a year ago, we would all be 100 times more excited about this game. But since the PS4 was announced, you would think they would be focusing on a PS4 title and not another PS3 game.

Even if it has yet to be officially announced, I am more excited for GT7 than I am for GT6. That game is going to be the tits.
 
Maybe I should start calling Forza 4 Forza 1.75 Because they took 2 steps backwards with 3 and one step forward with 4 leaving them still a bit short of 2 yet everyone calls it Forza 4. I wonder why that is?? Oh yeah because it is named Forza 4

I think it is pretty sad that anyone even bothers to log onto the internet if the best they can do is try to insult a product they know nothing about by reducing its release number.

I am excited to get GT6. I am excited to see more info on it and I will buy it and I will enjoy it.

I'm sure there is much more to learn about GT6.

Looks closer to GT5.3 then GT5.5 IMO. A Spec III patch. All tracks have dynamic time and weather, physics tweak, a couple hundred AI rabbit chases, and off you go
 
Well, the mindless folk who call GT6 GT5.5, I won't care anymore because in my "non blind" vision this is GT6. I'm rather surprised other games get away by making the same boring thing all the time, and yet those said game don't get called what GT6 gets called.

Is it because GT is successful or.... What is it?

I know right? Holy damn these guys are something else if I'm honest. :lol: But hey? I can't wait to see them cry and hide if GT6 comes out good. XD
 
The only 2 things I hope is:
1)- Amazing AI
2)- Amazing Gt Mode, something like Grid and Grid 2 events for the solo game . I doesn't matter for me the online experience, the GT5 one still very good.
 
If they improve AI and SOUNDS I'm sold.

The thing is... I tried to do Tsukuba 9 hrs and I had an awful experience, both AI and SOUNDS made me stop 2 hrs into the race, on my 3rd session.
sounds are the most crucial element to improve. Not only exhaust but tire & environment sounds as well.
sounds, sounds, sounds.

Seriously? Why should I tell someone who posts aggressively, and even going ahead calling me fanboy? Yep, you can guess ANY game that don't make heavy changes in its sequal, starting CoD such as MW2 to MW3, as well its NEW one that's coming out on XBone. As well racing games.

Is that baseless now? I think not, whiner.
 
Let's just think about it, GT5 1,000 cars but only 10 sets of wheels, really? GT5 1,000 cars only 3 wings and 3 body kits/aero, really? GT5 1,000 cars but you cant turbo a 350z or any other car for that matter, really? GT5 1,000 cars........ ima stop right there because this could take a while but you see where im going with this. GT6 is going to basically fill the gaps where GT5 shoulda had or can be put there through DLC like I said in the news section, now I understand some stuff like physics and other things cant be DLC but to say this is a new game, I dont know about that one. I would say this is nothing more than a spec III update to GT5 and when they add a massive city/world, car shows, drag racing, drifting, real rally, proper class cars everything from vintage race cars to up to date le mans prototypes, pikes peak, more real world tracks and so on, everything the car culture has to offer besides just racing around a track or who has the fastest lap time or who comes in first place. but hey until then we have no choice but to play the hand we are all dealt.

And I think you are waiting for a game other than GT. Sure thay have added drifting but the rest just sounds like another game...
