GT6 or GT5.5?

And I think you are waiting for a game other than GT. Sure thay have added drifting but the rest just sounds like another game...

How? When GT has everything I said, or we try to create it ourselves, it has rally but its limited, we make our own car shows, there some vintage cars, it needs drag racing with a working christmas tree, but we had to make our own tree and strip, i mean GT there is other things to do with a car besides go around a track over and over. Its about the car culture in general and everything with it that if GT can bring to the table it will go down in history as the greatest car sim ever. Its not another game im looking for its just we need more things to do with cars beside racing. The racing not going anywhere its just what happens after the race is what im saying

That is rather my point, people have adapted the game for these purposes, true - though don't be surprised when it doesn't actually happen. I only mentioned the drifting because Kazunori-san seems to have taken a shine to it.

rallying previously had a stronger presence, but in GT5 it was lessened. I'm hoping it comes back in full force, though I won't expect it.

What's the point of being 🤬 about wether it should be an integer or a decimal? Does it change anything about the product, other than proposing the idea that the game should have a dorky name which wrongly suggests that it's compatible with GT5 - which it most likely isn't? I'll be very surprised if for instance you can play GT5 and GT6 together online, because they will be fundamentally different.

The only reasonable thing is to call it GT6, because it is after all a game of its own, and not an addon which is compatible with a previous main release.

Moving on.

It's rather funny, because clearly everyone liked GT5, so what's all the complaining about?

GT6 is an improvement, but until we play it ourselves opinions are just premature.

Looking forward to GT6, very happy :D

definitely GT6 and not GT5.5 or anything else. we'll definitely see enough changes to call it a real GT6!

Actually when I think really hard and remember the moments, I haven't completely enjoyed GT5 at any point. Unlike all the other installments of the series.

GT6, because it's called GT6.

Fail logic. If they call it Gran Turismo 4 it will be GT4?
Typical case of praising the almighty Kaz and his helpers, the almighty PD.

More like Gran Turismo 4.3.....

Sad, but somehow true. Since GT4 it's the same basic structure, got improved a bit, weaknesses became greater and new ones were created (standards, events in GT5 argueably worse than/lacking compared to GT4).

Your own hype or let down?

Personally I have yet to see anything groundbreaking regarding GT6.
Yes the lighting looks awesome and new physics look a lot better,
but still I have yet to see anything that would make me eager to jump in time.

I do hope that GT6 will be much greater of a game than GT5 and bring a more refined and cool experience,
but somehow I doubt it.
But again this is only my opinion.

So what's your take on this?

I got the same opinion. Another PS3 game, I'm fine with that. But right now from what PD showed us (and what they kept hidden from the presentation, e.g. they avoided talking about AI and sounds at all) it seems the game will have the exact same weaknesses as GT5 while enhancing things GT5 did great already (graphics and physics weren't thaaat bad compared to sounds and AI).

I truely hope there will be some announcement that makes me wow, if we get things like a livery editor or a track creator that allows complete freedom (including track crossings) I'll be happy with the game, at least for a while.

Actually It is your logic that fails. All software is whatever the publisher decides to call it. If they decided to call it GT4 then it would be GT4 they won't of course because that one is already out there. They could call it Standard Cars Rock if they wanted or they could call it NFS 2013 [would probably be sued for that one but ...]

The point is that is does not matter what some lame group of people on the internet thing it should be called it will be named whatever the publisher names it and that is just the way it is whether you like it or not.

Typically a full release version gets a new primary number and what is coming is a full release which happens to be correctly called GT6

My point is that GT6 is essentially a GT5 Spec 3, for the reasons I stated in the last post, and I'm sure more people than just some lame group of people will say that, especially once it's out and reviews start.

And why do you call the attenders of a fan forum of GT 'some lame people on the internet' in first place? We came here because we're some of the most loyal GT fans and we surely are entitled to share our opinions on GT given we know more about the GT series and its producer than casual people/gamers.

Because of comments like it is 5.5 and saying others are wrong when they say it is 6. It is GT6 that is a fact. You may as well tell us that the sky is purple with pink polka dots. Not to mention that you nor anyone else here really know what the game will be like but we all know that it is not GT5.5

None of us know what the game is like yet. Until it's out, it's GT6.

Then you're pretty ignorant, Roadhog. I've mentioned plenty of arguments in the last two paragraphs of my first post in here why it comes off as a GT5 Spec 3, and I've also named things I hope to come that will differ GT6 more from GT5, but I doubt those things will come.

Edit: Yes GT916, there's still some room for announcements, but do you really expect them to overhaul the AI or the sounds in a major way? After what we've seen on the video material released? Given that the game has to be ready in 5 months? You're thinking unrealistic then.

Your arguments are meaningless. You are just guessing based on what you did not hear.

If they release it as GT5 Spec III then it would be GT5 Spec III and you would be able to still use the same save game with the same career progression, same cars, same money and everything else, not to mention it would probably be a free update in addition to being released on disc.

It is a full release version and we do not know what it entails. We should know more soon. Yes they did not mention a lot of things and what that really means is that we don't know about any of the things that were not mentioned. It doesn't matter if the damage model is the same, the sounds are the same, or anything else. There will be new cars, new tracks, new features as well as updated/upgraded features and it should be a good game.

Yet none of that changes the fact that in the end it is whatever they say it is whether any of us agree with it or not.

I'm going to assume we can ride on fire-breathing dragons and play as Chuck Norris in GTA V, i mean since they haven't mentioned it or shown it in any of the trailers it's still entirely possible right?....right? LOL

Maybe if GTA V came to PC. :P

I take it I'm the only one who sees GT5 v2.12 as GT5.5? If you play GT5 v1.0 and then GT5 v2.12, there's a noticeable difference in how the game feels to play. So for me GT6 is GT6 and after some big updates, it'll be GT6.5.

Call it whatever you want to call it. I'm just saying that I don't see anything new or better that is going to make me want to buy the game. The premium/standard thing, car sounds, AI, all look like they haven't been fixed.

If they are going to call it a simulation racing game, then that's what it should be - no black shadowy cockpit, no vacuum cleaners for the sounds, actual let us put different engines and transmissions in the cars, hot rod the cars, paint them up how we want - oh wait, Turn 10 is doing that with Forza and doing a a great job, maybe I ought to go buy their game...

You know hogger, you seem to talk about Forza a lot lately you know? Not trying to be mean or anything, but why not just, move over to the Forza forums? It has everything for you to discuss about it.

Oh and good luck spending hundreds of $$$ on a console for one game, a console I heard that's going down really fast.... Sad but true.

I'm calling this GT6 because its GT6, just like every other game.

Did you watch the trailer? Just look at the Lp400 and A110 again. And you haven't even played it. One thing I hate is people criticising stuff they haven't even tried yet. Just read off the Internet or let prejudices sway their opinion.

And they keep going on about how "oh this game is better than GT6", even though they haven't played nor heard info WHATSOEVER about those said games, yet they keep coming back to GT6.

That's just how they are man. XD

Suppose so. And they'll form an opinion from the demo too, even though that won't be accurate in many ways. Such is the world we live in :)

Regardless of what it is and how much people whine and moan about it, PD will still get a bucket load of sales and those who say they won't buy it, will buy it eventually. It's inevitable.
Personally, I don't care if it's a whole new game or more of the (albeit improved) same - the same is still a good formula which although has its flaws, is still something we enjoy(ed).

Haha, excatly that.

Well said bud, I couldn't have put it any better. 👍

This may have been the case with GT5 as there was no PS4 in sight, with the PS4 releasing right around the same time it's going to be quite a different story, myself and others that can afford to will be making the next-gen leap, could care less about GT5.5, just hoping for a proper GT7 on PS4 whenever it may happen, until then i'll be just fine without GT :)

Let's just wait and see. Its an evolution of gt5 though not a revolution as we would expect to see on the ps4.

I love reading the arguments of those defending GT6. I expect they would get offended if I said Santa Claus isn't real, and the Tooth Fairy are your parents sneaking in to your room while your sleeping. Its going to be another 5 years before us fans get what we were promised when GT5 got announced.

See? Was that so hard? Just enjoy playing DriveClub, and the new NFS game that's coming out. Just be happy you have awesome games coming out on PS4. :)

I know it's going to be tough ignoring GT6's greatness on PS3, but you can do it man. lol

HAHAHA!!!! Oh man, thanks for the laugh man, that was good.
