I like to think GT6 is just a more refined GT5. Seems like it's a trend in the GT series, where GT2 was a more refined GT1, rather than a completely different game, and GT4 was a more refined GT3. I've expected this from the day GT6 was even hinted, and I'm completely fine with supporting PD for it.
I mean, it's that sort of refinement and advancement that made Battlefield: Bad Company 2 such a successful game. DICE took BC1, made it better without making wholesale changes, and made a near perfect game. Honestly, you even see that with the Arkham series.
