Just thought of something guys: Remember the last time we saw anything new from GT6 prior to E3? It was the Nurburgring 24 Hours, where we got our first look at the Bilstein Audi R8 LMS. Now this week, we have the 24 Hours Of Le Mans and the last time we saw any GT related Gameplay, it was in 2010 showing off the Peugeot 908 and it was months away from release (like GT6 is at present).
Now I won't necessarily guarantee we'll see anything as I don't want to set anyone up for disappointment, but I bring that up in light of the comments (regarding "Manufacterer events" or something along those lines) Kaz mentioned back at the Silverstone presentation (as well as based on previous history) so its something to think about.
They never talked about improved crash physics.New physics? Still no proper bouncing-off barriers, many times even massive car inertia ends in one place.
But they should have talked, it's integral part of game physics engine and obviously stay untouched. They never talked about improved crash physics.

I must be playing GT wrong, for 15 years I've been trying to avoid the barriers.

Crap... me too
ENTERSANDMAN13See i don't like this excuse, contact/crashing is still a part of racing,
They shouldn't be doing half hearted work on these areas if they want to build a "driving simulator" imo.
You're saying this now. But imagine your face when you wreck a car in 24hr le mans in the 21st hour.

Who cares about spinning off barriers lol seriously. They should be concentrating on engine sounds in my opinion, the cars in GT sound terrible, LFS has been out for years and there engine sounds sound 10x more realistic than GTs.

SamusStill even with damage off the physics of the accident/spin should still be realistic even if nothing actually get's damaged.
This was discussed in Jordan's interview with Kaz. You read it right? So then leave the issue alone. They are dealing with it the best they can with what tools they have available. Mind you, I'm one of the biggest complainers.
Why would you need to tone down anything or use all assists to win the 24 hour race? All you need to do is drive a decent car and not go off track to often and you can win the event with ease. On GT4 I ran the Old Lemans 24hr using a 787B with a worn out engine, no upgrades and dirty oil and still won by 16 laps. On the other Lemans race I used an Audi R8 worn out, no upgrades, dirty oil and won by 35 laps. I think i would have need to use a GT or street car to make it a challenge. If you want to race the 24 and expect to win, then its as simple as toning down all the difficulty settings and turning on all assists.
I do as well, I remember on GT4 running the Laguna Seca endurance race for 200 spec points and loosing by like 5 seconds only to jump right back in an try again winning by 1 lap on the second try. Was a lot of funI on the other hand prefer a challenge, and the suspense of not knowing if I will win or not. If I don't then I will try again, but some people just want to win everything on their first try to 100% a game, which I personally find to be boring as hell.
I agree it would be nice if they were a bit more realistic but they are nice as is when someone slams you.Crash physics are important. When you crash, you are still trying to control the car, so implementation of proper physics is needed for authentic simulation of this.

This defence is still as stupid as its always been. Just because crashing, contact and off track excursions are not intententional most of the times doesn't mean its not an important part of the overall simulation.
R1600TurboI'd rather they work on mechanical breakdowns ahead of proper barrier collisions.
Like an invisible god hand points at a random car and says "your turbo is now disintegrated"?
No thanks.
Adds nothing for me, no satisfaction for the cars that make it through a season with no failures unless it's because they did something differently, and apart from over revving there's not much scope for that.
