Disc broski, this way when I finally give away my PSN's - which I do more often than I should - I can continue to play the game c: Although I would much prefer to have it digitally; I find it less hassle-inducing once the game is downloaded and there's no risk if my PS3's blu-ray reader dies again! :3

The digital version would be better for SSDs, assuming there's no full install option in GT6. Hard drives just struggle when multiple input/output operations are requested by the host system. SSDs on the other hand excel on those (in addition to better access times, etc). This being said, I'm getting the Blu-ray version.

Bluray all the way. Nothing like sitting on your couch with a hot cup of coffee while contemplating your huge game library. I'm someone who still buys music CD's :D

I only buy digital copies if I have like no choice, or if it's a classic (or digital-only, duh).

Disc, i like to have a ''real'' copy...and also 2 days to download a digital copy are too long for me.

Oh, and that too.

considering every single disc game i've ever played i've lost, had stolen, or eaten by a ps3 i'd rather buy ALL my games digitally from now on lol.

For several reasons, I'm tempted to go with the digital release.

1. The digital price is fair.
2. I have a PS3 at two different addresses, thus no need to carry the game with me.
3. Complete HDD storage is convenient.
4. No disc drive wear/noise.
5. The likelihood of faster loading times.
6. DLC is digital anyway, at least to begin with.
7. I simply don't feel like collecting more last-gen games.

I will buy the one in the disc mainly because I have a slow internet connection and it would take days for GT6 to be completely downloaded.

I rather have a physical copy, plus the physical collectors edition for me here in Australia comes with a cool book, etc. I think it feels more special for me who's a huge fan of the series.

5. The likelihood of faster loading times.
depends on how the game was developed...for instance...Grand Theft Auto V runs better when played from the disc because it installs partially to the HDD and is designed to stream assets from both the disc and HDD at the same time...

if PD is smart they will use a similar method...pulling from both places at the same time is better than one...

:lol:Why would anyone get both??? double the price for effectively the same thing!
Because triple screen. Digital download lets you have it on two PS3s at a time. Add in one disc copy and you're done.

On a side note, this can be combined with buying two used PS3s with broken disc drives off ebay for bottom dollar. A relatively very cheap way into triple screen GT6 ;)

Edit: This is on the assumption that the two versions will be compatible in this way. I'll find out the hard way on december 6th if they aren't

As the thread title says, which format will choose for GT6 and why?
Merged with existing thread.

I'm getting both. I've pre-ordered the Anniversary edition Blu-ray as I like to have a physical product. However, I prefer to have a digital download version as then you don't have to faff about with disc changes, so I've pre-ordered the PSN version too.

Physical disc. :)

Tbh I would have went digital however I did for GTA5 and the disk version performed better, plus the disc version is cheaper.

Ordered Special Edition from PSN. Basically the same price as a disc copy in our stores. And our stores don't sell any Special Editions. Win!

I like to keep my copies of Gran Turismos for sentimental values. so yeah blu ray is my choice.

edit: I also only have 350gig/month and I'm not gonna waste a quarter of that on a game
