GT7‘s custom transmissions aren’t working properly for me no matter what I do

I’ve been mainly collecting and tuning all the Nissan GTRs since gt7 launched, and every single one doesn’t actually increase 5th gear enough when I adjust the transmission for higher speeds. Deleting my save storage didn’t change a thing. The changes appear to save and some of the other gears are working, but 5th gear stays a little too short once I’m actually driving. I’m not sure how many cars this is affecting, but I’m really tired of buying new cars and the custom transmission for them then having 5th gear run out early every time. At this point I’m not using half my upgraded cars because I can never use the transmission how I want to. The only ones I can use are ones that happen to be able to increase 5th enough for my settings. I’ve tested this in a controlled environment and the gears are still bugged even with no other upgrades on the car. Idk what else to try but I’m tired of paying credits for a bugged and broken version of the transmissions in GT sport.

Not sure if this bug is driving anybody else mad, but if anybody would like to see if it’s affecting their transmission all you have to do is increase 6th all the way, then increase 5th all the way, then test to see if the engine actually goes super low when you shift to 5th. In my case the bug is mainly mattering when I’m increasing 5th to make room for a fuel saving 6th. I still have no idea why this seemingly simple feature is broken for me but I’d really appreciate a fix so I can actually use my gear ratios again. Thanks!

TLDR: lower your final drive ratio. I think the transmissions are working as intended. What you (and I until today) don't realize is that the gear size will not register on the car when it is outside of the intended parameter. When you open the individual gear in the fully adjustable transmission, it has a set minimum and maximum value. For example when you open the individual gear for the first time (you can unequip and then reequip) the slider will say something along the lines of .937/282 then 1.112/238. (i took this example from a youtube video, your actual numbers will be different) The game will allow you to make this gear smaller on the spec sheet. The car in game will not register anything smaller than .937 in this example. If you did what I've been doing you end up with fifth gear being very short no matter what and sixth gear shifting down to unusable rpms. The way I fixed it was to leave it how it comes set and then lower my final drive until 5th gear was as fast as i wanted it to be and then i adjusted 6th, then 4th,3rd and so on.

since may 26 update my transmission will not adjust no matter what speed or ratios the aspects of my car dont change at all. even when i change tires nothing changes. ive been waitint for gran turismo or playstation to contact me. ive sent 31 emails and have been ignored completely. complete and total waste of money. i was ranked in daily races now i can even race at all for 3 months and polyphony and playstation will only ignore your problem if a patch fix wont fix it

It's you.

If this were a game wide bug, there would be a massive thread for it.

"Even when I change tires, nothing changes"...then you are doing it wrong. For example, some races have a maximum PP. If you enter the race, and then change the tires and increase the PP, you won't be able to enter the race and the tires will revert. Also, make sure you exit the menu correctly and are not undoing any change that you just made.

Can you post screenshots of your problem, because by the words I cant understand what you are trying to tell.
What doesnt change when you change tires?
How are you setting up your transmission and how does it not affect your car?

can you video the bug?
Please if on cell phone do not hold it vertical.

I sometimes had cars not displaying the changes I just made in lobbies.
Usually, retiring the car and entering it again would "update" the car to its new settings.

I feel you about race limits and stipulations but you aren’t hearing me, when I enter my garage outside of any race to adjust my car, it won’t change anything it won’t make my care slower or faster on the left where it shows the vehicle stats. I can do anything to the car and the 0-60 or nothing will change even PlayStation finally got back to me, tried to help and said “we’re not sure, we’ll get back to you”. I hope its me, if so help me fix it.

See, i can literally do anything and it has zero affect on the vehicle. If you think this is my fault you’re crazy

@Ja636 The changes you make to the car will be felt when you are in race.
The numbers on the left hand side won't change for the Differential, Suspension settings and Gearbox settings in the current version of the game.

Previously people were setting a really long first gear or weird settings to allow for the PP points to drop significantly in order to use cars like the Tomahawk in the 600pp Tokyo race. So PD have disabled the 3 areas of a tuning sheet to affect the PP score of a car on the left hand side to avoid this "glitching".

Changing tyres, aero and performance parts will still have an affect on the PP and the numbers on the left hand side. I don't like that the numbers have been disabled from changes in the Differential, Suspension and Gearbox as it helped me tune cars faster. where now I need to make a change and do some test laps, making the tuning process even longer.
