Hi all,

After months of "secretly" reading this thread, I decided to register myself. Maybe we will meet at the daily races. After improving with your tricks en tips, I'm jumping between C & B. Depending on my play-time to learn the track and car.

Open for friends-invites: Fukkie_76

This week racing DR C and most of the time improving...

Cheers!

Fokke

Curious, if 30K is typical or summer doldrums?

For the last few weeks, I can have a time sitting around 1000-1500, which includes all regions of course, but when I enter a lobby, there are about 14 others with times 0-1000. :)

I would guess it’s a lot lighter than the middle of winter around holidays.

I take back what I said about race C....

It must be a full moon today in Europe!

Edit:

It's interesting looking at the broad range of times.

It like explains some of the lobby differentials or at least makes it more pronounced.

I'm almost in the 1:56s and the grids are from that to 2:00 that is a large range of driving technique in the times...

When the times are closer the racing usually feels better than when you can accelerate half the corner earlier or braker earlier to do that vs someone who might be point and squirt.

Just had a fantastic race with Miss Apex, it was a lot closer than the classification says as I fluffed the final corner. Really enjoyed it 👍 Finally made it back to B anyway. Not sure why my SR bar is empty, it was full the last race? Managed to get another 0.6 seconds off my QT by changing to the Ford GT, far nicer to drive

empty sr s means 100% s :)

I just tried a couple of C races, for the first time this week.
I gotta tell ya, the Mazda drivers are just plain mean to those of us using the Lexus.
They are just moving us out of the way by all means.

I think I will give race B a try.
C is currently populated by a bunch of A+ YT streamers, and try-hards. :irked:

I was having fun driving the Ford GT ‘06 at Watkins Glen but I couldn’t improve my QT. I moved to the RX-Vision ‘15 and within three laps improved to a 1:59.954 (top 29%) and a 2nd place finish. There is still room for improvement. Qualifying was done with TCS at 0, that really makes me concentrate more.

I went the opposite direction, I found the Ford to be far more stable when under braking, it just doesn't seem to me to be as flighty. Probably just me but I did knock 0.6 seconds off my QT in it so I don't know. I did set my ABS to default as opposed to weak and I turned the BB down to +4 from +5. I think I can crack into 1:57's with the Ford with a few more laps 👍

30K is pretty decent for this early in the week, if not actually pretty good instead. The credit bonus I imagine is turning more people onto it.

Generally C will be around 50k by the end of the week and B is at 60-70k.

Well, I can bet that the issues I had with the Ford, most likely, were not the fault of the Ford, there are some people laying down some great times with it.

I’ve not only improved my qualifying times but I’ve improved my average lap times in races with the RX-Vision. My best times are with all the assists off but I use TCS at 3 in traffic, you have to be pretty precise with no traction control.
Anyway, All-in-all, it was a good day,12th, 9th, 4th, 3rd, two 2nds and a win.

One other comment on my races today, all of them were extremely clean and competitive, this really affects the outcome, I was able to raise my DR 61% in 4 races because there were no poor finished due to crashes. I had other things to do today but decided to stay in races until the outcomes began to subside.
Again, just like poker, you can’t go home when you are winning.

Can I ask you guys a question? I know that if you get your front bumper up the inside to the opponents rear wheel as you turn in then you should yield. If the opponent overtakes on the outside where your bumper is again by his rear wheel as you turn in, should he stay wide or is the corner his?

Oh no! I did it, too? I think I fixed it now. 😅 .

@Duppy Gee

From Rule 4-6

This explains it pretty well. But remember ultimately even if everyone knows the rules etc

1. People make mistakes, often
2. You have to really lean on the limits to sometimes make moves stick
3. Some people will use track position and their car unfairly
4. it's just a game and not the way we make our livelihoods, so get annoyed but move on.

In the real world incidents cost money, ruin weekends, championships, sponsors and hurt people some times.

The worst that happens to us is a few numbers go down and we get as many more tries at it as we want in a day. Not just one shot every few weeks..

Hi everyone. I've been away on holiday for several weeks. Hope you've been having a good time racing. I saw some people posting about friend request. I will try to add some of you. You can also try to befriend me, my PSN is: allesbezetgek

It would be nice to compare my quali times to several of you GTplanet people.

Excited to see Watkin's Glen back and jumped in for some qualifying and racing today. I can run repeatable quali laps in the 1:59's, but then you still start at the back when you are in B lobbies. I ran about 5 races. My best starting and finishing position was 10th. Also finished dead last once. So it was all squabbling at the back of the field, but I was very happy to experience no dirty driving. Even at the back when people are maybe frustrated that the race is not going according to plan. Everyone let each other live. I was actually quite surprised. Maybe it was because I still had a day off and was racing during office hours.

Yes, but only to wake you up. You've been rather quiet this week...😆
Been quiet this week and most of the last as well.

Hairline fracture in my foot and could only start to drive a couple of days ago. Still cannot do more than 30 min each time though, starts to hurt! And after I drive, I usually need to take the next day off as I cannot stress the fracture by pressing against the pedals as it would take a lot longer to heal if I did ⚰️ 🚑 💉

This is a true story, I broke my finger quite badly (3 places) slipping on cheese savouries at a friends 30th birthday...we duct tapped it until even after a whole bottle of rum that night I had to cut the tape off.

3 surgeries later, pins in, pins out I never once stopped racing! No pain no gain!

😝

That's why every man wants to be you, every woman wants to be with you 😂 I heard Chuck Norris has a picture of you in his wallet as well...

Incredible racing all round in Race C this week! I can't stress it enough. It's not been perfect but everyone seems to mutually agree how to avoid losing too much time.

I never thought I would willingly go into the bus stop three-wide EVERY RACE. There's typically been a bad egg or two with fragile egos in every race, but so far people's race craft has seen to it that their bad intentions don't go to plan. Even if there have been malicious incidents, the perp seems to often get punished adequately.

Sorry to hear that. Get well soon!

And use a controller instead. Just like I do.😆
(When I'm driving, my feet get only stressed from resting too long on a pillow on the living room table🤭)
