I have no idea what my DR is. I just finished a single race so faršŸ˜„
It'll be E. Your DR is E until you have completed five races. It's displayed at the top of the screen when you enter Sport Mode, towards the top of your profile page, and alongside your name in any multiplayer race preview/results screen.

At E and D, ghosting will be absurdly strong. Cars will be ghosted at virtually any instance where they may collide. Once your DR rises, this will become less common; there's hardly any at B except in incidents where a car is wildly spinning out of control and lapped cars are ghosted too.

And what I said about always starting last was about the single player mode - where you just always start dead last.

No, sorry that's a wrong impression. I will keep on playing ofc, I was just really confused today 'cause the idea of ghosting didn't even cross my mind. What came to my mind first when I saw it was that the guy maybe lost connection. But I would never have thought that the game does this intentionally.
Keep racing, I think you need 10 races to get out of driver rating E?? Can't remember šŸ¤” The ghosty thing will disappear once you get a bit higher up. When I started a new account, it was very distracting having cars drive through me šŸ¤£

You'll still get ghosting in almost every lobby where someone has crashed and bounced back on track. I try to treat them like they're not ghosted, as sometimes they'll un-ghost just when you don't want them to.

The racing can be fantastic after a while - try and keep your Sportsmanship "SR" at S. If you get a lobby full of SR S folk the racing should be much cleaner (though sometimes isn't šŸ™ˆ)

My first race (GT Sport) was a C race with Gr2 cars round Fuji - I started last and got lapped by half the grid šŸ™ˆ

EDIT/ @Famine just posted it's 5 races šŸ‘

Nice to see you in Race A this afternoon. I was playing in only my 2nd race of the week and the gap was absolutely inevitable!

As much as I love this combo, trundling along alone in 4th with my only real concern being a missed braking point by the guy behind me isn't really doing it for me.

It's a shame Sport Mode doesn't have enough scope to provide interesting combos like this with more laps/weather/strategy.

This race seems a missed opportunity, I would've liked it with less grippy tyres an extra lap and a standing start. Its fun as it is but it could be a lot better.

Been stuck for the last couple of days in Race C with one of those 'start from the back with no QT' hooligans! He's obviously fast, as he gets past 4 or 5 cars before Druids at the start, albeit by pushing people wide at Paddock Hill Bend, and then diving up the inside into Druids.....

He continues to catch up to, and then pass people by pushing them wide in the corners, occasionally eventually ending up in the lead. If he makes it to P1, he stays there, if he doesn't he stops before the line on the final lap and hence finishes last - presumably so that he can keep his DR down, and end up in lobbies (low end B) that make this behaviour easier. Needless to say he manages to avoid a reduction in his SR.

I do wish people would drive to their own level, and leave us slower drivers to enjoy our races!

Disappointing night if I'm honest.

A p2, p8 and pit finish and a quit.

The p2 and p8 all fine I pushed too hard and lost it in the second one that is racing.

But and I'll be honest I hate the trolls (pink car dude wears his heart in his sleeve and is fast so you can race him, he usually wins but that's ok)

It's the person in 9th that some how wanted to pummel me in to submission.

I get a bit of contact, I get (don't agree with) a bit more contact passing someone running wide who doesn't like it. I get it.

What I have zero time for is being constantly trying to pitt me down the straight and when that doesn't work just rear ebd me off. I'll sit in the pits rather than race that crap.

I want to ask you guys, have I offended anyone or done something wrong? I'd like to think I've heard my head high, been accountable when needed and am just a nice racer who's working on my craft.

I feel utterly deflated as I've never had that sort of behaviour in any of my accounts the odd feisty one or KV but he's mellowed for now with me.

Maybe I'm just not the racer I want to/think I am :(

Might step away from gaming for a while.

Edit: VR makes this all a bit more personal

Yeah I know the feeling, after some fortunate wins midweek at BA I was expecting a little more this weekend, so far itā€™s been a complete shut show, spent today repairing my DR from Friday night, which was just ridiculously dirty, unfortunately I got drawn into it.

So will leave it alone until I feel like racing again! šŸ˜

Mumma said thereā€™d be days like these šŸ¤£

But I did manage a decent time at brands in the G70 and a win on the way, and had a fun little drive in the 4c too

Edit
@newmedia_dev feeling ya mate and interesting you say it feels more personal in vr, I nearly took the dive today and purchased šŸ¤£ soon enough

Just buy it, as a GT bumper cam user for nearly 20 years. I will only drive in VR now, that's TT golds, TT dailies and the races. You just can't go back from it. It brings the game to a level I didn't think was possible.

The racing in any cam is hit and miss but VR overcomes all of that.

What I was moaning about was a bad egg but for the last 2 months I've had nothing but joy in VR, I'm slightly faster than I was but that's just a by product of being in a race! You'll love it!

Oh come on, don't quit! Take a couple of days off to rest and come back, like Jesus šŸ˜‚

Did some races at Suzuka today in the '20 AMG since that was my last used Gr.3. Here are my starting and finishing positions, and the race time:

13th 8th 10:19
6th 14th 7th 10:25
8th 4th 10:09
8th 12th 10:34
5th 3rd 10:08
2nd 2nd 10:12

Qualifying time from the second race onwards was a 2:00.4 which I couldn't get close to again. Second race I got taken out at 130R on the first lap. There should have been another race in here but something odd happened. In the auto-drive at race start I ended up stuck viewing the pole sitter. When the race started I was still viewing the race from their screen. I could still control my car, my wheel was still reacting as I hit things... very odd. But it seems like it's not new, so fine.

You can see which races went well and which didn't. I should have won the last race, but I submitted the replay to @Tidgney's Plebs of the Week series so you might see why I didn't. If you want a sneak preview I shared the replay in-game with the tags potw and iotw. Some very odd people on the DRB/A threshold.

Nice livery on the car though. Lots to choose from for this one.

Hey guys, down to 1:59.5 at Suzuka (the ideal is now '59.1). I may race again tomorrow and see. If it's still "Kindergarten" like Thursday, I'll go back to QT improvement to see if I can push it below the '59.
Honestly, I'd have been all over daily B but I like c more this week, a little less sweaty loads of strat options and it's only 16 mins long.

Race what you like and have the most fun in!

Just the GR3 sprints are a bit of a consistency/grind race

More Brands Hatch Grand Prix Circuit! It took a couple dozen laps, but I managed a 1:28.679 with the NSX Gr.4 (default).

Race 1: Started P4. Had decent pace, but made too many small mistakes that added up. Took new tires at the end of Lap 6. Finished P6.

Race 2: Started P2. Had better pace and made less mistakes, but just wasn't quick enough. Took new tires at the end of Lap 6 again. Finished P4.

Race 3: Started P6. Pace was good, but my in lap to take new tires at the end of Lap 7 wasn't. Bumped a G70 while coming out of the pits. Slowed down for them to overtake at Clearways. Finished P6.

Race 4: Started P6. Had minor issues with traffic. Went back to taking new tires at the end of Lap 6. Finished P8.

Race 5: Started P2. Got passed by a quick NSX on Lap 3. Couldn't keep up, but built a nice gap to the cars behind. Took new tires at the end of Lap 6 again. Lead Huracan wiped out at Paddock Hill on Lap 8. Finished P2.

Pretty good day. Finished a couple places lower than I started in three races, and finished where I started only twice, but I finally made good on a podium. Brain's fried. Need a break. Good luck out there! šŸ˜¤ šŸ˜…

7 races to get to the C/S lobbies... 7 wins, 7 fastest laps šŸ™ˆ Hopefully it gets a bit more competitive now šŸ¤žšŸ¤ž.

Edit: Time to call it quits for the night as im knackered now. 8/8 is a good start. US lobbies are weird, the drop out rate is very high...i did 1 race to get to C/S and only 5 people finished šŸ¤£šŸ¤£šŸ¤£

Fifth place is nothing write home about but under the circumstances...

First attempt at Race B this week on a Saturday afternoon, I guess my experience at driving Suzuka shines through (it's the first circuit I can remember learning) so it didn't take too long to find my groove. A mere 2 lap practice session, ending with my 2.00 the lowest quali time on the grid, and the only one not able to break the 2 minute threshold.

I literally did nothing but successfully dodge wrecks. No overtaking manoeuvres, no switchbacks or dive bombs, just lapping consistently and staying out of trouble.

I have no idea what my DR is. I just finished a single race so faršŸ˜„

You have to finish 5 races before your DR is even affected, when it goes from E to D. In those races it doesn't matter where you finish at all. Think of them as practice races and a chance to get your SR rating up by racing clean. Once you get to D your races will count (except race A where DR is off). So I wouldn't judge anything on the first five races, I'm not even sure if Race A counts towards that since DR is off anyway. So once you do 4 more races, then the real racing begins. Good luck!

Finally got the below the 2.01 in race B and up to very respectable standing in my leaderboard. Iā€™ve been doing some circuit experience this weekend to grind some money so thatā€™s been fun.

Thanks mate, Iā€™m just not sure Iā€™m ready to ditch flat screen, Iā€™ve a 65 oled which I only use on GT and Iā€™m not a great fan of inside the car view, but Iā€™m keeping my eye on a few on eBay šŸ˜

That's understandable.

One thing I will say is try it first it's not for everyone and that's cool. For me I only use my PS and all the hardware for GT and it was the missing piece that I wish I'd have got sooner.

well done. I just can't manage an acceptable QT this week. I don't know exactly why, I actually like the routes but I can't get past mediocre times. I hope things will be better next week. Today I'll try the TT on both of my accounts.
Sorry for the bad English, using translator

I hope the Le Mans events this coming week consists of Group 1 or 2 cars. I know some may not be agreeable with that, but at least it would be more fun instead of the usual Group 3 or 4 cars. Plus the races would get finished quicker using a high-powered machine. I got a 2'09.9XX time the other day at Trial Mountain. The way that car is shaped is funny in a way, it feels like I'm in a rocket, xD. I always have the TCS turned off to make my exits coming from each corner faster. I used to have it set at 4-5 and I was always wondering why my lap times weren't sufficient and fast enough. I'm doing better by 75%.

Well, that's the C lobbies done, it's getting a bit closer now but I still have a 100% top 5 finish rate. I just cannot get my head around the way these Americas lobbies work. They just quit for the slightest thing which is really odd. The last race was a perfect example. I started P2 at Suzuka and the guy in pole went very slightly wide going into turn 2, didn't even go off track yet he just quit šŸ™ˆ. It's almost like a petulant toddler deciding 'I'm not playing anymore ' šŸ¤£šŸ¤£šŸ¤£ strange behaviour

I will be glad when this week is over I have to say,

Itā€™s been that bad that Iā€™ve earned about 10m credits on circuit experiences so when my 2 needed Ferrari invitationals find me, Iā€™ll be there.

Last race at brands, a lovely chap from Spain once I had moved from 4th to first, spun me in that ā€˜oh Iā€™m gonna kill u for that wayā€™ šŸ¤£ so I caught him up and wondered if wanted to race but no, he did it again despite my best efforts to dodge, luckily p3 was about 6secs off so I claimed 2nd šŸ¤¬

@benjoi84 mate, need to say this, you are 6 trophies from the platinum on gt7 and they super easy to gain, 2 scapes getting pics with 2 cars and buying 10 cars and 10 sets of wheels and 2 speed ones - dude go get this plat šŸ˜šŸ¤£šŸ¤£

Itā€™s been a strange week mate, usually Iā€™m rubbish at Suzuka with gr3 but I found a great lucky strike livery for the Porsche and managed to get my QT down to 2.00.7xx - just a shame nearly every race Iā€™ve had since Thursday has been trash šŸ¤£

Appreciate the message and the use of translator to make it šŸ‘Š

Oddly enough I've had a fairly good week at brands had a couple of bad apples mid week but overall good and then yesterday, something changed. People I don't know or recognise were being absolute cock wombles.

We aren't talking the run you wide 2 mile an hour smash your back doors in gently but full on ramming and pitt manoeuvres down the straight etc.

Just odd but the lobby had a female streamer who I get on with in it as well.

Yeah strange this week, didnā€™t feel like I could race anyone closely because they were just taking everyone out

Defo the ā€˜cock womblesā€™ weā€™re out in force šŸ¤£ ( so aptly described )

This week has been fairly decent to me, Brands Hatch is one of my favorite tracks to race at during the day. Never get tired of racing past the crowds/audience. And then you see all the trees and other objects/scenery. However some sections of Trial Mountain are too narrow for me, you have to watch out where the yellow diagonal lines are before the second tunnel. You can hit the wall to the left if you're not paying attention. That's why I don't do laps unless I'm well rested.

Glad youā€™re enjoying your racing buddy, hope all well and ps5 is keeping you busy šŸ˜ I did manage a few races in the old Mercedes, but I just canā€™t do 3 races in a week, Iā€™m looking forward to grand valley next week and I still have a circuit experience from that to do

Well that was weird. Just had my first encounter with he who shall not be named (pink carā€¦) at Brands Hatch. Lovely guy. Saw him kill off two in front of me (to be entirely fair I didnā€™t see the full circumstances), but fortunately I wasnā€™t quick enough to catch up to him šŸ˜‚. He then stopped before the finish line to gift me the win. A winā€™s a win I guessā€¦!

Coupled with racing (and losing to) a professional real life racing driver earlier in the week (not sure if allowed to name?), this has been an interesting week! (Her profile read about 33 races done, won 17 and at top of B).
