You can find sources for just about anything but there is no official word from any PD/Sony rep on the game so take anything you hear/read with a huge grain of salt. Like the size of the Rock of Gibraltar. This for instance

Gran Turismo 7 Delayed until 2017!

Gran Turismo Release pushed back to 2017
Of course when you dig in a little, you find no new quotes and just the same old recycled information that's already been reported on GTPlanet.
GT1 and 2 was groundbreaking, in large part because there was nothing even close to it on console. Many, many games have been released since then that have far exceeded GT in just about every single aspect of the game, the only trophy PD can claim at this point is car count. In just about every other aspect of driving/racing simulations they are miles behind. The best GT7 will be able to do is combine the best elements of games that are already far, far ahead in the simulation aspect of driving and racing. If they can pull together the offline career of PCars, the physics of Assetto Corsa, the online racing of iRacing, a livery editor and a more modern and eclectic car list like Forza, then they might have something groundbreaking. GT being what is is though, all they really need to do is make it look pretty, add 100+ cars and some FIA tracks, juice up the physics and sounds a bit and fans will flock to the game.
