Have you guys experience being placed sitting on the roof in VR, and It's the same on all track with the Lexus LF-LC-Gt VGT. I can drive as usual, actually it a great position for overview. But fun aside.

The old Army jeep also is difficult to adjust the position correctly. In my view though šŸ˜

Some cars donā€™t have interiors modeled so you end up on the roof

Yes. It's worth googling vgt cars with no cockpit gt7.

I never usually sell car models completely, as like to have at least 1 of each car in my garage... apart from dupes i win (already have at least 2 of each car now).

However, following an emergency boardroom meeting with my team a couple of months back, the decision was taken to sell all vgts with no cockpit.

The driver's behind this being:

1) i don't like using vgts anyway... Just for weekly races if demanded, and more than enough do have cockpits
2) obviously silly/immersion breaking sitting on roof of car
3) I can simply buy them back again if pd fix the cockpit. PD are aware of this, and are happy for me to retain this buyback clause. For now anyway.

As a result, this provided our team with a cash injection of around 10 mill, iirc. Although in reality, the additional funds are largely redundant. Particularly as there are no investment instruments within the game to passively grow/compound the capital; such as index funds, hedge funds,,real estate, people trafficking, arms dealing or illicit substance opportunities.

It did however, give me a nice warm fuzzy feeling, seeing the numbers escalate within short time frame.

I did have a zoom call with Kaz about this. Sadly he terminated the meeting after I revealed myself. Not sure what his problem is, but appears he's never conducted business meetings with someone strapped to a bed, in a secure unit wearing a silence of the lambs mask before. Perhaps it was my tongue disconcertingly flickering like a lizard?

Happy to forward you the minutes and full dosier from meeting, should you require further detail ;)

No one. You need to call Kaz himself :)

But at least we got today a bit more information about what to overall expect from possible ps5 pro VR updates.
Kayak and No Manā€™s Sky will first of all gain a higher native res and improved details.
The No Manā€™s sky dev also stated that this wonā€™t be all. PSSR currently doesnā€™t work with VR because itā€™s not available in the SDK. There seems to be an issue in combination with foveated rendering. Sony is working on it but this will take a couple of months most likely.

Overall not bad for VR.
Have high hopes for the GT7 update(s) in the future.

"For PlayStation VR2 owners, not all PS5 Pro improvements are available at launch since PSSR isn't currently enabled for the headset. Hello Games told UploadVR that PSSR isn't supported at launch for titles using foveated rendering and it's currently looking into this. The studio also informed us that the Dynamic Resolution Scaling (DRS) range will jump from 1458P to 2160P on PS5 Pro, stating that foveated rendering "increases the effective resolution by 300%."

and the disappoint when you realize you still have work to do and a table to finish "refinishing" before I can play...

I was not going to buy the new console but... I think I'm going to pull the trigger anyway, what the hell... Hopefully the VR2 improvements will come in the near future :)
We can only pray that the PSSR improvement described above is baked in and doesn't require Polyphony to do anything.

Same here dude, Was telling myself no way was I buying a PS5 pro, but reading some nice things about it and GT7, well I couldn't resist lol, due for delivery today and a 4k 32 inch monitor coming as my tv only does 60hz, Why not you only live once :)

Can someone explain what this means in lay terms?

I posted elsewhere that to me the PSVR2 seems better on the pro than the OG but that it might haves been a placebo effect. It seemed sharper and with less pop up but that may have just been that track. It was not an exhaustive test.

With no current official support by PD on the Pro

There might be some improvement, but that's only coming from the console side,

The real improvement will come in combination with the software update by PD, which I am reassure you, will come.

As to when, it could be tomorrow, or it could be in 2 years...
Only Kaz knows when he will be back from vacation.

Then the PSVR2 GT7 update... That's a separate topic.

So for the time being, I would like to request those you lucky enough to have the Pro, to refain yourself and. Control yourself.

Stop trying to overly legitimize your purchase or upgrade with wild claims without clear and concrete evidence of improvements.

If you can put up the before and after so that we can compare.

And please please please, make sure you are not describing just a placebo effect....

Provide proof of the pudding, we want none of the Placebo.

Thank you.

PS5 Pro vs PS5 GT7 PSVR2 experience feels/looks exactly the same to me. Thatā€™s just my eyes but they feel the same. There is certainly nothing that wowā€™s, Hopefully an update will include PRO PSVR2 upgrades.

Except maybe the menuā€™s load faster. Whaw whaaa

Literally I donā€™t think anything feels/looks different other than the setup process hiccup. Distance, focus, out focus areas on track ā€¦.its feels all the same to me. Maybe when you move just your eyes to check the radar is a little cleaner, and thatā€™s a maybe. There was nothing during any of the daily Cā€™s I ran last night that felt any different or stuck out.

I have been playing only GT7 about 99.34% of the time since late Feb 2023 on my PS5. Preorder PSVR2 on day one, GT7 changed my sim racing experience. PSVR1 that was cool but incomplete .

Psvr2 - amazing step in immersion and ease/startup time to track. Endless hours of fun!!!Globular Cluster so important!

Iā€™ve had to set up VR2 a million times over various room scan, eye scans, positioning so on. At Night I have 2 infrared from ceiling cameras, 2 infrared illuminators on tables. Always easy, flawless and quick. Race! I used a usb extension cable for my PS5 setup. Never an issue.

Initially i was going to wait until I heard some concrete PSVR2 news, and as such didnt preorder. But Figured Iā€™ll just grab one while they are available before the holidays in case Kaz does release an update.

The PSVR2 setup was weird though. I used the USB extension and it did not like that. All the eye test ended on their own before completing. It was like sepia. Started qualifying and rectangles of snow flashing lol. I removed the extension. Brown screen. Canā€™t turn vr2 on or off. Reset ps5 pro, says vr2 error occurred redo. 2nd Same thing happened. 3rd try all the eyes test completed normally, normal experience as pre Pro concsole.

Everything is running smooth now, no problems. I guess it did not like that extension. It only allows you to use 1 c port, the others shows message saying not enough power in that port.

From a GT7 PSVR2 only standpoint, itā€™s the same as the PS5 at the moment in my eyes.

It is clearly not, as many others have previously stated. That doesn't say that a patch is surely needed, but the improvements are obvious to see. (car interior, sharpness of timer display, reduced pop-in...)
Ok thatā€™s true, I agree with the cockpit and timer being more crisp now. Iā€™m not complaining, itā€™s awesome! Canā€™t wait to see what the future holds.

Iā€™ve completed something like 10 circuit experiences today so thatā€™s a number of tracks over and over.

I can say, with no doubt that the PSVR2 experience is better than before. Perfect? No of course not, but it is very enjoyable.

While I know some pop up still happens, the only track I actually noticed it on today was Circuit de la Sarthe down the Mulsanne straight. The trees still pop in at the end of the track. Thatā€™s an extreme case though.

Iā€™m getting gold of most of the CC after one or two runs on tracks I found difficult before. Perhaps Iā€™m just better, but I find the distant track less blurry so Iā€™m finding it easier to hit my marks and actually see my marks coming up.

I sure hope they are able to fix the issues with PSSR and reprojection. Iā€™d that happens I might never want to leave VR. šŸ˜€

I have both original PS5 and PS5 Pro and tested them back to back with the PSVR2. I didn't notice any differences between image quality.

Resolution looks the same, pop-in (such as AI car details that pop-in when you get closer to them) looks the same, mirrors look the same and reprojection is still in use.

The only difference I noticed is that the framerate is more stable. The framerate has always been exceptionally good all things considered, but it would still hitch every now and again when under stress. I haven't been able to replicate this with the Pro yet.

Also, when the camera pans around the car at the beginning of a rolling race start (in 2D mode just before it 'pops' you into the car in VR mode), the framerate is noticably better. I tested the Citroƫn DS and that panning shot looks 30fps on the OG PS5, but runs about 60fps on the Pro.

Yeah. As Iā€™ve said in the other thread: Placebo effect is a real thing. Add confirmation bias to that and you have a situation where people stop just short of ā€œthe game cures cancer nowā€ when talking about enhancements that somehow have magically manifested even though the game has not been patched yet and therefore should look just the same.

I don't play the game that much but I pretty much got GT7 when the PSVR2 came out. Lets just say I am probably one of the people who wouldn't even notice any difference from the graphics up-scaling on the headset.

My main questions to those with the P25Pro are:

  1. Are lap times any faster?
  2. Is the sensation of "speed" or going fast that much more immersive?
  3. Are any other VR games that got patched that show noticeable graphics improvements? (only saw Kayak Vr on the list but if no mans sky VR looks better please do tell)

No man sky is noticable improvement, also more stable fps in Vertigo 2

i see a noticable change with psvr2.

Nobody has done PSVR2 back and forth between OG and pro consoles yet. Perhaps I'll take that on this weekend (not before as my back is jacked up).

I'm thinking of doing some circuit experience sectors back to back as i should be able to get fairly similar conditions between consoles. I'll record in HD MP4 as that is the only real option for PSVR but then upscale to 4K side by side (so that Youtube compression is not so much a factor).

I'm thinking of the Mulsanne straight at Circuit de la Sarthe. What others would be a good test of visual fidelity? I'm not interested in dirt sectors as those would be too hard for consistency.
