So if I steal a car, tune it and save it in the garage with other cars, then took it for a ride and destroyed it, it's gone?

It seems like the garages won't save cars that you take out for a ride but the heli pad/docks/aircraft hanger will keep your vehicles saved even if you take them out.

Very annoying, but if you take a car out and wreck it all you have to do it reload your save file before it autosaves again.

This thing is a beast for some 4x4 fun. With a turbo it can climb up just about anything. I've only ever seen them during missions so took her home when I had the chance.

Fully modified, matte black, custom 5prit3 plate.

Took a page from your book, I was intending to do it anyway cause it's badass (besides the custom plate as I only have android).

Now I wish I got the version with the bar and racks, I assumed I could add them in LS customs but I couldn't. Franklin paid for it cause he had the most money.

I just totally tuned one of the muscle cars. New paintjob, wheels, exhaust and everything. I put is in Michaels garage and saved. Now the car is gone! It hans't been impounded or anything.

Same happened with a mercedes look a like I modded with Franklin. Anyone know how to change this?

I had a tuned Mini in Franklins Vinewood Hills safehouse garage and came back tonight to grab it and it was gone. Disappearing cars is not cool.

Indeed, i had the same thing happen to my fully tuned RWB Porsche. :(

BTW, anyone tried the minivan/small econoline looking thing?.. the brakes are rubbish, but it looks the business with the roll-cage added and lowered with the custom splitter. (would upload my pics but can't find them on the social site).

Can the wrench be used?

I have one stored at Michael's house and haven't really had any problems keeping it. But I really don't like the danger of my cars disappearing. I plan to spend a huge amount of cash on my own cars, so I would prefer they not despawn.

Just got the name of the stickerbombed ride. It's a Déclassé Asea. A 4 door, front wheel drive sedan. Happy hunting.👍:)

Dissappearing car guys, check the impound.

When franklin lived with his aunt, I parked a fully modded sandking xl on like 30's beside the house and put the charger in the garage. When I went back for it, it was gone. I assumed it was stolen until I stopped to check out the impound, and there she was. Not sure if they replace each other as cars get added, but it's worth a shot.

Just don't drive your cars to missions. I did that with 2 fully modded cars, thinking they would be impounded. But nope, they are gone for good.

I don't think that matters, as I've used a couple modded ones during missions, and they popped up in the impound both times.

I've experienced both. I drove my modded Feltzer to a mission and lost it for good. Yet several missions later I stole an Ingot repaired it and it got impounded .

The impound seems to only keep track of the 2 most recent cars. I have lost several modded vehicles. So now I just keep them in my garage.

However some great news. If you modify the "special" cars that each main character has, then those always stay in the game and stay modified.

Example:

Michael- The Audi 8 Type car
Franklin- The Charger car
Trevor-The pickup truck

Modify those early in the game and they will stay modified in every cinema and always be there when you return. I didn't know this until almost the end of the game. Makes for a much more immersive game when you see your modified cars in the cinemas and gameplay. 👍

So far I have only found 1 vehicle that is truly a 4x4 meaning all 4 tires have power. It was some sort of small Jeep. I don't remember the name. The strange part is some of the large trucks show 4x4 stickers and even show full front axles but they are only RWD. So if you want some serious rock climbing get the small jeep. It might be called the Canis but not sure.

The regular Jeep has trouble climbing things when one wheel is off the ground. It needs lockers. ;)

I tried to slowly climb Mt Chiliad with one bone stock and it struggled in some spots.

^ You want to modify it for sure. I even put the offroad tires on it. Not sure if the offroad tires give it more traction but they sure look aggressive. Might have to experiement with that some time. If anyone finds any more TRUE 4x4 vehicles let me know. That's the only one I have found so far.

Yeah I put some off road tires on later and an engine tune to bump up the power but haven't tried the climb again yet. It'll make it just fine if you haul the mail up the mountain but I wanted a challenge so did it slowly like you would in real life. :)

There are a couple other vehicles that would probably climb very well but those could be spoilers. So for now I will stick with AI vehicles we can find driving around in game.

The hardest part for me when climbing up steep hills is when the car keeps changing from 1st to 2nd and completely bogs down in 2nd. Only way to avoid it is to let off the gas just before it shifts.
