Its like making a temporary mini-crew in a free roam session. One leader and bodyguards. Other mini-crews attack you and you can play missions/challenges. Bodyguards get money for keeping the leader (VIP) alive.

The point? I dunno, I suppose to spice up free roam - but now there is no smuggler planes or armoured trucks to rob. I have only been a VIP a couple of time out of curiosity. It's a good way of making quick money if you play the right missions but really I have no interest. I would play as a bodyguard to see what it's like though.
Oh thanks. I didn't know what it was. Nothing I'm really interested in though.

Is it just me or does it happen quite a lot lately?

Ah well, if it improves the servers.

I wasn't having any problems with the servers last night, but did notice that lobbies were smaller than usual.

That I did notice. About 12 hours ago the lobbies weren't bigger than 8 or 10 players.

I play on PC, and somehow, magically, for no reason, a hacker enters the room. Long story short, I now have the best yacht and several armored vehicles.

Oh, and if anyone wants to do a heist, I'm ready for it. I really want to unlock some heavily armored vehicles!

The Rockstar support twitter page is littered with people complaining that they cannot get online. Rockstars only reply is to check the server status page where it says the PS4 servers are "limited". No comment on when or if it will be sorted.

For info on the yacht defense system: Not only does it target passive players nearby, it is also programmed not to miss any shots, meaning that if you happen to be flying in the vicinity of a yacht you're dead if you don't bail.

I spend my time online doing the freemode events or racing, I only go full murderer when someone feels the need to kill me when I'm busy with an event.....then I don't stop until they leave.

Also, i enjoy giving sub level 10 players as much money as I can and it amazes me how none of them thank me. I must have given away hundreds of thousands of dollars to them, never been thanked. (But charity is its own reward.....!)

So how did all of you millionaires earn so much money? I'm looking for some suggestions to earn me some quick cash for a future yacht purchase without boring myself to death (if that is possible). I'm currently just accepting heist finale invites and doing contact missions, and I'm at 435k.

There's no quick way to make money. It took me a month to go from $2 mil to just over $9million. That was mostly solo grinding contact missions, and selling Sentinels, no heists at all.

I was saving for a yacht, but after a buddy got one, and I had a chance to check it out, it seems pointless to me to own one. It's nothing more than an apartment on water, and since I never go into the apartments I have now, I didn't want to waste my money on it.

I win as many freemode event s as possible (apart from the PvP ones) and the money adds up.

30 grand for hunt the beat
35 grand to cause the most damage
10 or 20 grand for hot property and hold the wheel.

Also between 11pm and 3am I get a custom Sentinel and sell that for 17 grand.
It all adds up.

Being a multi millionaire I spent a few hours in an invite only lobby doing the VIP sightseeker mission over and over. 23k each time.

I probably earn about 200 grand an hour on average.

Being in a hacked lobby on last gen helps lot.

Being on last gen is a mixed bag; on one hand you don't get the cool updates that next gen does + no freemode events for easy money, but on the other hand you run into modders all the time and get money bags galore. Hmm.

Advice from someone who went to current gen with only 300k.

If you're ready to go current, first rack up something like 10 million or so, it makes it a lot easier.

That's exactly what I'm going to do; I have to be ready to buy a yacht and enjoy the Executives update to the fullest.

I suppose I can rack up that amount in two months' time.

If you aren't going to hack yourself into the monies, just jump ship already. I fired up my PS3 today because of the current outage on the 4 and I was mildly shocked how afwul the game looks on last gen.

There's an outage on the PS4?

This is exactly what I'm thinking now. I was going to save up to get a yacht but I don't actually think I'll use it much so I'll just keep my money for any future cars that get released.
