Amazing how much more alive the NPC appears in GTA5, it makes GTA4 looks almost clinical.

True. I never noticed until I watched that comparison. GTA IV was praised on how realistic it's npc's were. It seems to have made a significant jump again.

No one is debating the fact that it will have an airport. The point being raised is that it might seem a little pointless unless there is more than one airport.
I'm not sure I understand that objection that an airport is useless if there's only of of them or one city.

If even there's only one main airport, you can still have, like in San Andreas, airplace spawn spots for crop dusters and small planes, or small airfields to use (or own).

I hardly ever land the damn things anyway in SA, just jump out when I'm over my destination or get bored flying.

I think the point is it would be boring to have large fast aircraft with nowhere else to officially land except one airport.

Incredible the trailer got +8 millions views. Cant wait for GTA V, i love GTA series, some rumours says GTA v will out in 24 -05 - 2012.

I can't see it be released that soon, especially seeing as Max Payne 3 is coming out in March 2012.

May lines up nicely with Rockstars Open world sales dates over the past 4 or so years. It also hasn't impinged on any of their other sales either. Stories from Liberty city were released around a month prior to Red Dead and people still bought it in their droves.

You make a pretty good point, but I personally still can't see Rockstar releasing arguably two of their biggest titles so close together.

So...if they use the RDR engine...will it be just as glitch ridden? If so...good...Red Dead Redemption was a good example of a game that had all sorts of bugs and glitches but still managed to be a great game. GTAIV had a few bugs (The homicidal swing sets being one of the biggest), but RDR was just filled with them...and somehow, they added to the gameplay...just like the homicidal swing sets in GTA. (I do admit, if I was a Rockstar developer and discovered that glitch...I'd leave it in, too...just because it's GTA.)

They won't use that engine. If your going to compare it to any game compare it to Max Payne 3. I reckon that is what we can expect.

Rockstar's never used the Max Payne engine for anything but Max Payne. To be honest GTAV looks more like a combination of the GTAIV and RDR engines.

I remember reading an interview about San Andreas where they said the planes crashing into Mt Chiliad was a glitch/bug but decided to leave it in there (glad they did). I like that kinda stuff too!

What's a 'homicidal swing set?' (apologies if this is a dumb question)

All I was going to say was that whatever engine they're using, that trailer made me all tingly inside.

I've heard moans suggesting that people are narked as there's no '3 city' vibe like in the original SA. As much as I loved that game, I don't really care, since the new one looks so good. It's scary.

There are a few swings where if you constantly run into them, they launch your car across the city. Sometimes you get thrown out of the car too.

It does look good, but part of me is hoping for 3 cities. Interestingly, the hype has kind of died down for now. Maybe that will change when the next trailer is released.

Heard that the trailer features a big secret that no one has picked up on yet. Wonder what it is.

So, I heard rumors that GTA5 was coming out in May...it turns out that someone mentioned "Rockstar" and "2012" and people assumed GTA5 and completely forgot about the other game they're working on, Max Payne 3. MP3 is coming out in May, GTA5...who knows.

I also can't wait to see what "glitches" are hidden in GTA5. You know that the swingset glitch was left in. I mean, if I was a tester and I came across that....I'd tell them about it, but urge them to leave it in. It's fun and entertaining. I do have to admit, that Rockstar's glitches are great. Every once and a while, one will effect the career, but most don't and most just make you laugh...like the homing dynamite glitch in RDR...although, they removed that.

I hope R* uses the L.A. Noire engine but slightly smoother. There was hardly any FPS drops in that at all. The whole game ran pretty smooth. Would be nice to see the III series remastered in HD though, kind of like III on Andriod applications.

MP3 comes out in March which isn't new to most. People have been going off the date on the kerb in the trailer.

regardless it will be late this year. It's too close to may and the hype train hasn't even started.

I think RDR and LA noire use the same engine. La noire just used the havok physics engine plugin tho. Plus rockstar have a development center in california catered to the RAGE engine. Glitches can only be from a untested game. Waiting for E3 👍, can you say release date :dopey:.

Might be but L.A. Noire definitely runs smoother.

It seems like one of the "new directions" Rockstar is heading is having an established character for the first time. In every GTA game since at least GTA3, the protagonist has come from somewhere else. GTA5, however, is sounding like the protagonist has been in Los Santos for a while. This would mean that, right off the start, the entire map is open. This would also mean that the main story line could be much more optional, although, I have no doubt that there will be cool things to unlock in the main story...and...if Red Dead Redemption is anything to go by...(Not to mention, GTAIV)...then the story is going to be something you WANT to play through.

This reads like it was written by one of the many morons from gtaforums.com. The conversation over there is severely lacking. I don't buy it for a second.

It's false. And the GTA Forums are horrific. Filled with people swearing and insulting each other...
