All these mysteries make me want to travel into the future and see what GTA V exactly look like.
Wednesday isn't that far away.

And fun fact: Yahoo Serious almost walked straight into me at a store a few years ago. That was my closest encounter with a celebrity.
Fun fact, part two: my line about Yahoo Serious is take from an episode of The Simpsons, the one where they come to Australia. As much as I detest Lisa, her line about the Yahoo Serious Festival - "I know those words, but that sign doesn't make sense." - is one of my favourites from the series.

Yes it was basic but oozed style and its still my favourite GTA along side VCS, besides that was technology then and this time you can bet that if it was Miami again it would be done super realistically and include much more of the area.

Think of the same jump New York saw from GTA3 to GTA4 and you can kinda get the idea.

Robin.

While I agree about the change in size, I preferred the world map in GTA3 than in vice city. As a matter of fact, it was far better in my opinion. San Andreas, was perhaps a little too big, but I wouldn't mind if they went in that direction.

GTA4's physics engine (Havok) was great, why would you want it removed? :odd:

GTA set in 1899 = Red Dead Redemption minus a decade. That GTAF thread is lulzy too, either it's someone just messing with people or the people there read far too much into things.

I would love a GTA with a female lead. (or maybe the ability to either choose or create your character) I doubt it will EVER happen, but still...Also, one thing is certain, GTAV will be bigger than GTAIV. Rockstar have already said that they like to go bigger and bigger. A full sized San Andreas would definitely fit the bill of being bigger than Liberty City, especially if it includes Los Santos and the other city from the original San Andreas.

The "Five" tied to money suggests either a political campaign or drugs. I don't know how you they composited LC on RDR considering that RDR takes place in southern Arizona/Texas/Northern Mexico area and LC is New York City.

A GTA Genesis would be cool, but for it to be a GTA story, it would have to take place when CARS existed. And, in 1899, they only "Cars" were the horseless carriages of Benz, Daimler, Maybach and a couple others. So, I think that theory is out. If it WERE to be a genesis, it'd be set in the 40's-60's and I think they've done at least a couple of those decades with L.A. Noire.

I also can't really see it being set in San Andreas 'cause they just did L.A. Noire. It would seem a little repetitive. San Fran or San Diego or Vice City maybe, but...Rockstar doesn't strike me as the kind of company that would make two games set in the same place back to back. Heck, GTA III's LC is based of Chicago and GTAIV's is based off New York. That, and L.A. Noire wasn't their most positive experience.

I also think they should do a zombie version of GTA...they did such an awesome job with RDR Undead Nightmare...a San Andreas wide outbreak would be bad ass and much more entertaining than Dead Rising.

I found this online. Unfortuantely, it doesn't show Liberty City:

But I do remember being blown away by the size of San Andreas when I played it.

The world in Just Cause 2 is unbelievably large. Including many different lands and cities..

It will be interesting to see what they can pull off. I was wondering if data would ever be a problem, considering the typical modern graphics engine and the amount of spawned land when players are scattered online.

After some digging, someone came up with GTAIV having 3.0 square miles of land. Which seems about right.

I would LOVE to see a GTA game with the 390 sq.mi. that JC2 has. JC2 impressed me with the size. There was certainly plenty to do in that map. Rockstar would give you a few more things. But 390 would be enough room to have the three cities in San Andreas in almost their full sizes and a good chunk of land between them.

One "V" theory that I like suggests that GTA V will be set in the same area as RED DEAD REDEMPTION - only developed to the twenty-first century:

But I cant seem to find any figures on RDR's map size.

RDR would be the entire south of the US plus northern Mexico. If it's that far south, I would say it'd take place in either a city in Texas, Arizona or simply San Diego.

Usually I wouldn't go along with these theories but I find this particularly interesting due to this image which had been posted on the GTAForums by someone who's supposed to be some sort of insider at Rockstar. Red Dead Redemption is the spiritual successor to Red Dead Revolver, the game play in latter was set in the 1880s, the same era that bill was produced. Both games are Rockstar productions. I don't really know what to make of this, if anything at all, but there's somewhat of a connection to this theory and the Genesis thread on the GTAForums.
Considering that that thread starter is DeepThroat, I'm willing to bet some people are looking too far into his clues & some are just doing it for "the lulz".

I remember DeepThroat posting a lot of serious & a lot of nonsense clues related to GTA IV.

The rag doll effect on players is very funny if you're screwing around online with your friends, but as for actually playing the game offline, it's a chore to just navigate the characters while they're on foot, not to mention the cars drive like they have no shocks, which Rockstar thought better off given how most of the DLC vehicles handle in comparison.

I also can't really see it being set in San Andreas 'cause they just did L.A. Noire. It would seem a little repetitive

The original San Andreas was set in the fictional State of San Andreas. Comprising of Los Santos (LA style city), San Fierro (San Francisco style city) and Las Venturas (Las Vegas style city).

I can't really see how doing San Andreas would be repetitive, as there would be more than just an LA parody. On a side note, I'd love it if they tackled San Andreas again, but I wouldn't mind if they took a different approach. I'd be ecstatic if they created an enviroment as vast as San Andreas.

One thing to remember here, is that this game is currently titled "GTA V", which would indicate that there will be a huge leap from GTA IV, and not just the same thing in another city. Unless the name GTA V is just a placeholder to keep the location a secret. If not, it would be named "GTA IV: (insert city)"

If it's set in 1899, Rockstar will have to change the name to GTH: Grand Theft Horse.

Come on guys, this is going to be sooo good! At last, a new GTA - not just a GTA: 'whatever'.

Things I'd like to see:

1. Remember those random Ice Cream vans and such, that when entered started a mini mission? Bring em back.

2. Car customisation. More clothing options.

3. Planes. Airliners. Parachutes. Rocket packs.

4. More mini games - GTAIV didn't have enough IMO, bring back the gambling, horses, slots etc...

5. A good coherent story, slightly more easier to follow. I'll be honest, I struggled last time.

6. More classic homages to classic vehicles.

7. The buddhists! :D

When I look at the countdown clock at Rockstar website, I thinking of the countdown sound from the tv show 24.

1 and half day left!!:scared:

EDIT: This what I meant
