Race was started an hour early. It was in the topic title.....

Anyways great season guys I couldn't do it without some committed drivers. We all had our good and bad races. As well as our disputes:tdown:. Season 2 will start sometime in April and will bring along a new class with 3 new cars and more clearer rules.

Also for the thread it is being turned into an offseason discussion thread for season 2.

Does this mean there'll be seperate races for each class depending on number of entries?

WOW that was an exciting race! I really thought I'd wouldn't see much traffic and just be driving around all alone for an hour since I'm pretty slow (and got no practice this week). However that wasn't the case, I'd had some pretty good battles out there, especially at the end. With 3 laps to go I caught Jav and we swapped positions a few times. My tires were shot and with VW being such a pig in the turns (notice the Golf got last in the overall championship?) I couldn't hang with Integra so I got 4th. Soooo close to a podium finish... but I still moved up one place from my grid spot of 5th. I pitted on lap 20 and lap 44 I think.

I had a ton of FUN racing with everyone this season. Some really good, clean drivers in closely matched cars. A+++ would recommend :D

Suggestions for next season:

1) Weight penalty for the winner - this way someone can't walk away with the championship. Also this would even out the cars as well as the drivers skill levels automatically.

2) Lock down the start time - critical to getting participation each week.

3A) Allow everyone to drop ONE race - run a 8 week season but only count a drivers best 7 finishes. This lets a driver miss a race without losing any points. You can't expect everyone to have eight weeks of free time... something always comes up that takes you away from the PS3.

3B) If 3A is unacceptable then how about substitute drivers? For example if I know I'm going to miss a race can I let someone else represent me and earn points under my name?

4) Ditch the pace lap - I've said it before and I'll keep saying it... there is just too much confusion, possible false starts, bumping, etc, etc. Don't over complicate things, let's just race.

5) Race distance and pitstops - keep as is, its working great!

6) Don't worry about track selection so much - sure some cars are better at one track or another but that is to be expected. As long as the season covers a wide selection of tracks it will all work out in the end. Plus its nice to know going into a race that you've got a slight advantage over the other models.

7) I'd like to hear more about how the "classes" system would work.

8) Team mates? Any thoughts on having people pick a buddy to share settings with? Also in addition to the manufacture points there could be team points. Might generate some new strategies ;)

9) Tire compound? Drop down to harder tires for less grip? Seemed the racing during enduro was more challenging as grip levels dropped. On the flip side this makes the pitstops less critical so maybe its best to leave things as is.

10) Next season entries / car selection: how is this going to work? Regular drivers should be given priority over occasional drivers.

I'm just throwing this stuff out so it gets discussed... I'd be fine with season 2 having the same rules season 1, as long as the pace lap is gone :P

1. I am going to do BTCC style weight penalties but I can't enforce it really. Boils down to the honor system.

2. Towards the end saturday nights just wern't working for me. Races next season will be on Friday nights for sure

3.I don't really see a point in that. If you did bad all season and you drop a race then you just do worse in the standings.

4.Just like in real racing I'm keeping it. It has worked throughout the whole season just with 1 or 2 mishaps.

5. Thank you:)

6.Well i try to keep racing close so the Integra union quits complaining:sly:

BTW I released Season 2 Schedule a week ago or so.
Round 1: Deep Forest
Round 2: Cape Ring South
Round 3: Monaco
Round 4: Autumn Ring
Round 5: Laguna Seca
Round 6: ITCC Submitted Track(yet to be selected)
Round 7: Trial Mountain
Round 8: Circuit de Pickerington
Round 9: 100 Miles of TBA

7.That will be released when Season 2 starts.

8.That could be added. I never said anyone couldn't do a team thing this season.

9.I think mediums was a good compound for the series. Since these cars burn through front tires quick. But for the enduro I will allow any tire selection.

10.Yea I probably will. I don't want people signing up if they are not committed, like driving the first race and then never seen from again. That is what happened with the lack of civics on track. Everyone who signed up for them never showed once. That or they dropped out before we even started race 1.

I made a logo. It may look similar to another series logo:sly:

Hey guys, im looking to join a league of somesort. Wanted to try and find a league with the ZO6 rm but that corvette league looks like its full. First off do you have room for another racer in your league and if so i would need to get the run down on how your league is run (more detailed than what i have gathered from reading your forum) and the schedule. Basically i have hit a wall with playing the GT mode of the game and am looking for some "real" racing against real people for a fun challenge (the AI in the game bores me). Im a level 27 in GT, i don't know really how to compare my skill level to other people because i really haven't played online at all yet. My psn is cjs158. Or i'll just check back on this thread for any replies. Thanks in advance for your time.

Your welcome any time but Season 1 just ended yesterday so its going to be a little over a month before season 2 rolls around.

That's fine, it looks like you run a pretty realistic series format so i wasn't expecting to be able to just jump in and race today. The realistic format was what caught my eye (I was raised racing tony and shifter carts) so your format is appealing to me. Would you have room for me in your up coming season??

Here is a look at our weight penalty system next season.

1st: 30kg
2nd: 25kg
3rd: 15kg
4th: 10kg
5th: 5kg
6th-16th: 0kg

Say you finished first the first race, then you would add 30kg to your weight. Then say you finished 4th the next race, then you would have 10 kg.

How are u goin to check to see if the cars are running the proper weight?

Hey guys take a picture of the layout of your track so I can choose which track will be on next season's schedule.
You already have pics of my track layout, Sylph. ;)

3.I don't really see a point in that. If you did bad all season and you drop a race then you just do worse in the standings.

No, because everyone has to drop ONE race. Let me see if I can explain it better.

Lets say Driver "A" did pretty good finishing on average in 4th place all season.
However Driver "B" averaged 3rd, but had one DNF - this drops him down to 5th overall in the standings. Now if you remove that DNF he goes back up to 3rd.

The system is pretty simple: we have 8 races, but you can only earn points in 7 of them. So each driver gets one free pass or skip to eliminate a bad result. For some people this will be a DNF, for others it might be a sucky 9th place finish. If your really good maybe your worst finish is a 6th... but its doesn't matter: your BEST results stay and your WORST result get thrown out in the end. Does that make sense?

BTW I LOVE the logo, nice work.

yo supr....i vote for next season to go to full damage....hope fully a result of cleaner racing...i also vote for more laps....to discourage people from tryin to do full races w/o pitting

I'm thinking that would be a good idea re: full damage. As for race distance, does 50 km(31 miles) sound good/long enough?
