Damn, was my chance to get some points lol Chris and I are the only ones who've qualified (well, I would have just now!)

Off topic: Tomorrow night 20:45 UK TIME at the Formula One club (#1001522) is:

RED BULL STANDARD STOCK (650bhp, CS tyres) @ SPA 39 LAPS

Can you compete with the aliens? With a little practice you can in this car for sure, practice room tonight for an hour from 20:00 UK time, Immortal's current fastest full fuel time is 1:44.4, mine is 1:45.5...

yeah I could have maybe taken the championship lead (lol) but I think it will be more fun with a full grid

I hate the X1 so much

What times are people getting here? I can't seem to break through 1:14.000

My times are around there. I have decided to turn off ABS, since the top aliens aren't using it, so I'm about 2-3 tenths slower now. Do you mean that your best time is exactly 1:14.000?

I managed a 1:12.790 during the tt, but it was with zero tyre wear conditions. Not sure what the offset would be with wear, I'd say a good average race time looking after the tyres would be around the 13-14 mark.

Ryan just tweak your bb settings so that you lock your front right on entry to T2 and T3 eg. It should actually help lap times rather than hinder them, because it improves control on turn in :)

If I remember, I have them set at 2/2. I think. What is good about ABS 0 is that you can slide the car better on entry, but the downside of course is the lockup/longer braking distance... :grumpy:

Hopefully my pace won't be awful in qualifying and in the race.

Dont worry, Ill be slower!

I won't be racing this week as I'm working through the weekend.

To be fair I may drop out entirely, not getting excited about this series I'm afraid.

No. Sorry, that's not want I meant. My personal best was 1:14.1-ish, But as you and Chris confirmed, I'm off the pace by at least 1 or 2 seconds.

Red Bull Ring tonight

Anyone else unable to make it?

I'm going to just say it. Safety Car rule needs to go. Personally there is starting to be a lack of enthusiasm here, even from myself. The car isn't as enjoyable as I thought it would be. It's short races as is due to the tyre wear, and the safety car rule just halts things, over complicates it and kills it for me to be fair. I'd rather gain my spot by strategy and not pace. I think it's best to just drop it and try have some fun while still possible

I think a reason for the lack of enthusiasm is that the car can be quite difficult to get used to, even with these detuned specifications. What I've seen in other series is that if a car is easy to drive and tune, people show more interest. It's seen in Super GT and GT3 seasons in particular.

It could also be the scheduling, Saturday nights may be a busy time period for many.

I think it's just the car as is. The Ferrari in GT5 was such a fun car to drive. But these just get on your nerves

Saturday nights are usually quite popular with people, however its just the car isn't.
I'm not saying it hasn't been successful here because it has. We've now got a full grid with some very fast drivers. However it's just lacking the excitement that GTTCC has. Hey. Perhaps after tonight it will be back, that would be nice.

It may be a case of forum activity then. When I look at ORA's FIA series there's a very active discussion in there most days, same with Mega GT.

If a lot of people aren't talking about a series then those that check the forum occasionally might think it's not very active/popular.

I don't understand the problem  there's almost a full roster of drivers, just because they aren't talking on this doesn't mean that they aren't going to race. As for tunes, it takes a quick google search to find a decent tune for the fgt which is good enough to make it stable.

If you're using a controller then you are never going to enjoy driving these cars and in my opinion driving games properly; and will never compete for a win against top drivers with a wheel over a long distance race. The key to driving formula cars and managing wear is consistency and a smooth rhythm; which is much harder to achieve with a stick rather than a wheel.

I know that myself and others are keen to continue to race within this series.

Don't have a problem with forum activity. I'm glad it's low here lol

I want to carry on and I will. We've got a full grid and some top quality drivers. The thing for me that kills it is just the small things. Getting into a race which is short due to the tyre wear then having it stopped just kills it, hence why I think the safety car has to go. I love running on a different compound knowing that I will be doing better in my nex stint, and seeing how it all unfolds.

Not saying anything is wrong here. It's running well but it's the small things which aren't needed I think

by the way @JockeP22 are you coming long tonight?

I like the challenge of the cars. But halting the race doesn't work. I've got a nice stable tune. It's not quick but i'm not getting angry at the car. I'm having a great time fighting it out for the best of the worst lol

I agree, the safety car probably isn't the best idea. Sometimes if something crazy happens at T1 then I can see why, but it's probably better to restart at that point. Any other incidents after lap 1, are racing ones and there shouldn't be a safety car, the point of one is to let marshalls in real life clear debris from the track. We don't have that problem lol.

I enjoy the FGT, atm I have a lot to learn with the car and this is my first championship with it. I'm much more comfortable with the lotus and red bull standard, but that's only because of practice. Once you practice enough (racing and in free time) then it will click, that is why Immortal is where he's at today in the FGT, experience! That's why I'm looking forward to the next few races so that I can test myself and gradually improve over time, I'm not expecting a win in the near future but it won't stop me from trying lol. I hate losing ;)
